Ive seen this show a few times over the last 20 years and it was always good. I read a year ago it was the same guys still, so today I popped in to check it out. Well, its not the same guys anymore. Theyre replaced now with two unfunny girls. They showed one quick demonstration then relied on videos of horror movie clips followed by 20 min of unfunny relationship comedy that I guess was supposed a play in their relationship. It was terrible and the one host couldnt stop laughing at her own jokes. It really had nothing to do with horror and make up. Was very disappointed. The only highlight was beetlejuice doing warm ups. He was funny and even sounded like beetlejuice. I would have rather watched him for an additional 30 min.

The Beetlejuice actor is extremely funny. The whole show really did an outstanding job working around our current pandemic!

I went in expecting something like Face Off. Thats not what the experience was, but thats not a bad thing. First of all the hosts were phenomenal. They were funny and did a great job interacting with the audience and getting them interested in what was going on.Really it was some basics on how makeups and horror effects are handled. It was cool to see and they did a great job explaining but more importantly they made everything funny the whole time.This is a fun experience for everyone and I think you could take most people to this show. Theres a couple jump scares but relatively minor. For kids the only scary part would really be at the end.

This was a very fun show. The hosts were very funny. There was a kid in our show that made it even better. The banter between this 8 year old and the hosts was absolutely amazing. The best part of the show is the seating! Super comfortable seating and a great way to get your energy back!

Hands down my favorite show and just about overall attraction in the entire Universal Orlando Resort! It’s a lot of fun but also informative and the hosts really know how to play to the audience so well. As a fan of horror films I love the respect they give to the original Monster Universe but also bring in some great modern reels as well. The lobby has some great exhibiting too. Ive been to Universal Studios in FL several times but Ive never gone to this show.My wife and I finally went this last trip and loved every minute of it. We laughed so much. The host and the makeup expert were hilarious together and very entertaining. The show was also very informative and were so glad we went. I cant give this one enough stars. Great time!!

My boyfriend and I went to Universal for our anniversary and noticed the sign for this show. I asked if it was on a screen or live and was told “it’s a live comedy show...” and was sold. And I’m so happy I went in! Great show, great chemistry between the hosts and guests! I laughed the entire time, learned some cool facts, and got to see some really amazing props up close! Absolutely worth checking out!

I have to say this is incredible fantastic show with experienced funny maker invite audience to take part in the interactive presentation. They select audience to make the interactive more fun and with different participants from audience every time, you will never goes bored of it if you go there on multi days. Being selected as the audience participant today, I feel so honored and a little nervous as well but it went fine without anything scary actually. After the show, I became a start before the eyes of people joined the show this morning. This is a wonderful experience that will be remembered and best memory ever.

Beetlejuice is the best

This is clearly the funniest show between the two parks. Nothing is sacred as they make fun of Disney and the guests that are in the audience. The two main characters are supposedly best friends that teach you about Hollywood makeup magic. However, even the sign language interpreter is in on all the gags. I dont want to give away the stories that they tell, so just make sure you go and see the show! As a tip, I will tell you that if you sit in the front row in the very center you are likely to be a part of the action. They also will pick a guest who is in the second row to be a part of the on stage show at some point.

Stumbled on this show by accident on way through the park and we are so glad we did :-) Absolutely hilarious and informative time!!! My family aged from 55 to 7 and we all laughed out loud and got frights too. Well done to all involved who could probably have their own stand up comedy show xxx

The presentation was right up my alley, as I love this sort of thing. It was filled with interesting information, history of horror, humor and heart. Good times.

Not exactly what I was expecting. I thought it would be a demonstration of how the makeup is applied and horror effects are created. It is an audience participation, comedy show with some makeup history thrown in. It is still enjoyable even if the secrets they show are pretty corny and a little obvious.

First time attending and found it to be quite entertaining! Very funny and informative with movie make-up history and audience participation. Great time filler if you want to sit and relax for about 20 minutes.

Ive seen this show at least 10 times in my life and I never get sick of it. Genuinely funny guys running this and definitely one of the best shows universal has to offer. They are also incredibly informative and always show you how those effects are being done.

When I first went, it was so funny! The actors make it look really realistic, even though they are laughing their heads off along with the audience! You must see it. Warning though, may be a bit inappropriate for kids.

Hilarious show. Actors were great and the show was a lot better than I expected it to be when I walked in. Also, the fact that this is only one of two attractions (the other being E.T.) that are still in operation since the grand opening of the park is cool. Very nostalgic experience.

The best serial live show in Universal. Good for some laughs. The use of audience members gives the show a good amount of variability for repeat watching. You can even accidently learn something. Perhaps, most importantly you get to sit down for a bit and recharge in a climate controlled environment.

Best live show at Universal! Every time I visit I have to see this show, it is an absolute must! The comedy and actually learning some of the secrets behind Universal monster making is amazing. Since they have added the new Mummy footage I have liked it less but other than that still a great show! Before the show be sure to check out the props they used to make the most iconic movies in Universal history!

This is one of the best live show experiences at any theme park. It is great for people of all ages, provided they are mature enough to see fake blood, clips of horror films, and other such ghoulish delights. This is a must do when visiting the park. Get an in depth overview of some of Hollywoods greatest monsters and a glimpse into Universal History.

I was at universal for one day and had a limited amount of things to do. My girlfriend and I chose this place and did not regret it one bit. its so enjoyable for anyone of any age group even the little ones will enjoy as much as the adults. A++

This is one of those shows I could watch almost everyday Im there at the park. Ive seen so many different actors. Its never going be exactly the same show experience. I do prefer the early 90s version, but that is just my love for nostalgia.

A great experience for anyone interested in theatrical and film makeup for to do the opposite of what makeup is usually used for - to make people look nice. this makeup does anything but that.would revisit should i ever return.

Fun show but if you expect some horror or how to make someone look scary tutorial, then you wont find it here. But worth though, lots of great jokes :) I never visited it again though, because in my opinion one time is enough.

If you like shows or have run out of other things to do, then the show is for you. Wandering characters nearby enhance the experience, however I recommend the Myriad of other activities nearby.

Incredible show and very funny host

Not what you would expect from a theme park show. Mark James is a creature creator and make up artist who loves to pick on international tourists and little kids. Makes for a hilarious show that is filled with quick improved one liners that will put you in tears. It always stays funny and never crosses the line of uncomfortable. Props to the entertainers.

Loved it!!! It was so entertaining and we didnt even expected it. Theres a long time to wait for the show, but in the waiting room there are so many real movie props that you dont even notice!!

Weve seen this a few years back and came again because it was so good! Universal doesnt seem to have many good shows, but this little production is fantastic! There are some gross monster stuff (like blood and guts), but kids can enjoy this. Its about 30 minutes, and an audience member or two is sometimes picked to go onstage, or have witty banter back and forth with the performers. There is one guy that knows the history of how they make some classic horror scenes look so real, and a helper that he works with. Before you go into the theater (which holds quite a few people - maybe 100), there are many horror props and items to look at in the lobby area. Sort of like a mini horror museum. Definitely a fun time, and youll walk away laughing.

I attended this show with my kids in late October. At one point, the makeup artist said to a female volunteer that after she wore the hat he was giving to her, she might wake up with wet underwear, or possibly no underwear on at all. After I got home, I wrote to Universal to suggest they reconsider that joke if its part of their regular routine. The response was that they were sorry I had a bad experience, but most people love the show.

Lots of fun, and very informative on make-up effects. Plus youre seated in air-conditioning.

I had my doubts at first like this was gonna be a cheesy movie. But was I wrong! This was the funniest show I have ever seen at Universal Orlando and the host and the makeup artist there was hilarious! And they way they picked on people made it even more enjoyable to watch. Bravo Universal!

Halloween Horror Night! We went and stayed until 1am.... Loved it although it was a bit crowded.
