Definetly worth the wait. The Alien Saucers were ok but Slinky Dog Roller Coaster was great for smaller kids to adults. The immersive land really brought to life the films. The area was tight in that when busy will feel really crowded. The line in the standby for Slinky dog is out in the sun so hydrate in the summer months.

So to be honest I wasnt sure what to expect from this ride. Spoiler alert for readers:It was essentially an animatronic homage to classic movies. The tour guide talks with the group, then quarter of the way trough the ride a gangster takes over after a mock shoot-out in an alley way. The ride progresses and the mobster tempts fate, and the tour guide comes back. The scenery was great. Animatronics were fun, making for an interesting ride. I was excited for the line too, because there are famous outfits from movies. I was pumped to see the uniforms from Star Trek the Motion Picture.

Toy Story Land is a ton of fun, especially for the younger audience. The theming is some of the best in all of Disney, with loads of imagination and details that you could never see all of in one visit. Slinky Dog Dash is a fun, but short, ride that is a great first coaster for the little ones. It has very cool theming with voicing and lots of color. Alien Saucers is your typical tilt-a-whirl type of ride with mild turning and fun Toy Story music. The new Toy Story Mania incorporates an old favorite into the new land. Overall, it’s great fun but definitely either go to the rides during EMH or get Fast Passes for Slinky.

Kids will love this section of the park. Very bright and colorful with items right out of the movies. There were many characters available for pictures.Toy Story Mania is the best bet for a family ride, but the area also has spinning saucers and a small kid friendly rollercoaster.

As a reluctant Disney victim – I mean visitor – I think they did quite a nice job designing this entire area.Excellent attention to detail & clever design throughout, but I do find the large-scale bar code on the the slinky dog “packaging” anachronistic.

Hollywood Studios is probably my least favorite Disney park, but this land is an improvement to the park.I was aging out of Disney movies when the Toy Story movies came out, I dont think Ive even seen anything other than short clips of the film. Still, this land is so bright and colorful! I couldnt wait to visit it on my most recent trip. This land was like visual overload for my ADD brain! So much to see and really fun stuff for all ages! I spotted one of the toy soldiers marching around in the land, so cute! The xmas lights overhead are awesome too and a nice touch! The day I visited it felt like 100 out, literally. I watched a few You Tube videos on this land before my visit and I agree with the people griping about the lack of shade. They need more trees, but this shouldnt be as much of an issue from November through early May when Florida isnt blazing hot.I visited two of the rides here. Slinky Dog is great, perfect for younger kids. Thrilling but not over the top.I also took a spin on the Alien Swirling Saucers, that was just kind of meh. Id rather go on the Tea Cups at Magic Kingdom. This land is worth checking out when in the park, but try to score some fast passes ahead of time. Its worth strolling through to see all of the great stuff!

As an avid Disney fan, and a movie theater projectionist for over 20 years, its the best of both worlds for me. Plus, what better way to escape the heat than with a laid back riding tour of iconic movie moments in air conditioning? People who like Spaceship Earth, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion may enjoy this ride as well.

This was probably one of my favorite rides that I experienced. My wife wasnt a big fan but I loved it. It is a slow moving ride taking you through many classical iconic movies and the tour guide was very bubbly. There is some interaction between the guide and the characters on set for some acting which was neat.I learned a lot of neat facts about movies and even mentally saved a few so I could go home and watch the ones I havent seen.Overall I loved the ride and would recommend it.

I absolutely loved this ride my entire lifetime, considering that this ride was four years old when I was born. I always looked forward to riding The Great Movie Ride every time I came to Disneys Hollywood Studios. I have had so many wonderful memories over the years and now The Great Movie Ride ceases to be an attraction and is now just a memory faded away in time.

It was awesome as always!! We were so glad we had the chance to do the Great Movie ride before it closed down. We all will definitely miss our favorite ride at Hollywood studios. It wont be the same going back and it not being there:-( as they are going to be building a Mickey and Minnie ride in its place. Hopefully it will be a great ride but it wont be as amazing as the Great movie ride!! This ride seeing all the past movies and actors/actresses tugged on your heart strings for sure! Going to miss it!!!

I think sometimes this ride gets a bad rap. But it is so cute, so entertaining and a definite must do. It is also a great way to get out o the sun and soak up some air conditioning. There is normally not too long of a wait. My favorite part is the Wizard of Oz area!

This was my favorite at the WDW parks. Even tho on this review Ill be mentioning some other parks and rides we went on. It really felt like I was riding thru an African safari. A wide variety of animals to see. I guess as long as weather conditions are okay or animals arent sleeping. Toy Story Mania! was great also loved that ride Under Andies Bed me and the kids had a blast. The Tower of Terror OMG! and the ride took a picture of us looking crazy. The Great Movie ride Im happy we got a chance to ride it before the closed it down. I was also happy to get pictures of the Mickey Mouse magicians hat before it got dismantled. Now Stars Tours was funny loved the simulator ride with R2D2 and 3PCO. I didnt go on Aerosmith Rock n Rollercoaster but the kids did. As a matter of fact they went on a total of four times. Lines werent long that evening. I did go on Mission: Space I did the orange level. That G force effect is strong on this ride. Primeval Whirl, Jungle Cruise and Spaceship Earth to name to name few rides. Space Mountain also fun.

I fluctuate between 3 and 4 stars here - it was one of the more boring/disappointing rides at Hollywood. You ride along in a many-seated car, while your guide takes you through various iconic scenes of movies. There is some clever back-and-forth between the guide at the characters once in a while, but if there is a long line for this ride, feel free to skip it. There is some classic memorabilia while you are in line for photo ops however.

Im so sorry they closed it! Great attraction, with animatronics, live performances, humor, action, grandiose scenes and dreams... A classic pure Disney Magic creation. A great way to remember movie classics from the whole 20th century and maybe a little more. Also it was an excellent way to teach kids about great movies and entertaining them at the same time. They got rid of the backlot tour: ok, only Universal does it well in the California studios but why get rid of this wonderful classic attraction? Ok, it wasnt a multiple ride attraction, the kind you attend only once or twice per trip to WDW but it entertained everyone for more than a couple dozens of minutes. How many attractions could pride themselves of being able to absorb large crowds for as long as 30 minutes and with people exiting with a large smile and dreamy memories? WDW has lots of empty space, they are building an entire land for Star Wars and Im happy about it but why getting rid of The Great Movie Ride and its amazing ride system, scenery and theming? The replacement ride could have been built elsewhere. At least Im extremely happy to have seen it and Ill regret this great attraction, sometimes newer or rethemed isnt better.

One of the original attractions that greeted guests when Hollywood Studios first opened in 1989. Although a bit dated and slow, its still running strong. If youre into classic movies or old, then this ride will bring you back. You move on an automated vehicle following a track for 22 minutes. The track will bring you through recreations of classic film scenes and environments that make use of animatronics and wonderfully made sets. All the while a tour guide narrates your entire journey. Your guide will make the experience so much more fun if you get a good one. Nothing is worse than an unenthusiastic cast member.

An absolute treasure from a Disney park that has little else to offer if youre above the age of 8 or if you arent a complete shut in Star Wars nerd. This ride was one of the only features keeping this park relevant and now it has no cohesive theme or reason to bother wasting your time there. Im an unabashed Disney idiot and the Disney World parks have been my haven for over 20 years. Animal Kingdom is a complete waste and now Hollywood Studios is only relevant for the Rockin Roller Coaster. So Im now limited to 2 parks: Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Im intensely disappointed with the direction Disney has taken. Its very clear they want to cater to market masses on thrill character movies like Guardians of the Galaxy (an absolute waste) and franchises (Star Wars). There is hardly any magic left in Disney and its incredibly sad. I hope lining your pockets is worth it.

Je

A classic ride! But the sound quality (or maybe it was just the acting) was poor. And the ride malfunctioned. Once the rest of the construction clears up in the back of the park, Disney should update this ride. Keep a similar theme, but improve on execution.
