Strates is a great entertainment provider. They have all of the classic fair rides and attractions.

There are very few rides for children under 36. This is not posted at the entrance but only at ticket booth. This would be fine except they have people stationed at the entrance to sell the wristbands who do not make you aware of this. Instead of riding all night my grandbabies cried all night watching the rides. Not to mention the parents purchased wristbands to ride with them. Besides that the older kids enjoyed the rides but had to leave early because of the younger siblings.

Traveled with the show from May 1969 to October 1975 with Masons popcorn. Was a wonderful experience. This show is a honest family oriented organization. I also drove tractor to load and unload wagons to and from train to fairgrounds.. Many old friends and memories.

My children had never been to the Fair. Neither had my wife. I have two step children, 13 and 10, and it is very rare that I get to experience something with them for the first time. They had never even enjoyed a funnel cake too hot to eat! Typically their father has them for the weekend but my wife and I got them for the Easter holiday.I rounded up the 13 and 10 year old as well as our 2 year old and we were off to the fair! After a few rides, the rain came down. All the main rides shut down. We left and ate dinner as a nearby restaurant still excited that the rain would pass and we could still ride the rides... it didnt.Thinking how great it would be to try again tomorrow, I asked the ticket person if we could get a voucher for the next day for our $25 all day wristbands. She sent me to someone else who sent me to someone else. In the pouring rain I eventually get introduced to Reed.Reed told me they dont give rain checks... we went back and forth. My receipt was in the car and it was pouring. He told me not only could he not do anything for me but because he I didnt have the receipt he REALLY couldnt do anything for me. Then he informs me the only way he could give me a voucher for the next day was if I had gotten hurt on a ride. Awesome customer service buddy.So I walked back soaked to the bone. The kids said they had a good time but I can tell they are being polite. All I wanted was the chance give my kids the experience of the Fair I remember (not to mention spend a lot more money). Instead we will not be going to any James E. Strates shows.It is your policy to ,under no circumstance, issue a rain voucher. It is my policy to not spend money places where I am not wanted.

The greatest place ever

Not coming back. The service here was horrible. The food on top of that was not even worth it. And there were coworkers arguing with each other in front of everyone. Disappointed.

Spent two hours there, they start shutting down rides just after buying a wrist band and then we ask if they do rain checks honor for the next day or refunds and they say no at tge ticket booth. Rides were not worth the cost of admission into the fairgrounds. Ride jockeys Dont even pay attention to the rides, and the service from reps is the worst I have ever seen.Will never attend another strates show.

It is one of the top 10 shows in the us.

Poor management to start they over work and under pay there employees to a point of exhaustion for pennies
