So many trails to choose from, so many ancient trees, great places to hide away and have a snack or relax, stunning views around every turn!! some trails are tricky with roots and leaves/pine needles, be careful (I fell haha but Im ok) The trails can get steep but you can take breaks often. Everyone we encountered was polite and courteous. Parking was easy and good amount of trash cans so trails were clean. The best part was most of the trails are covered in shade!! Great hike on this 100+ degree day!!

If you are going to walk the bridge make sure to do it before you look down on it from the Roberts Regional Recreation Area. This place is great! A beautiful drive, a beautiful place to explore. You feel like you are really out in nature away from everything and then you can turn around and look over the entire city, bay, and bridge. This place is truly breathtaking!

Hiked through the whole park yesterday and a loop just outside the park. It was beautiful. Temps were cool. Moisture was high from the redwoods. Passed several hikers on the trails buy it wasnt really crowded (about 100 people). Had to park on the road because the park was still closed for Covid 19 but it was open for walk-in (verified with ranger). Some bathrooms were open and some were closed. The benches were available but the picnic areas were closed. No charge for entry.

At the top of the mountain is where Redwood Bowmen has their amazing archery range in Juaqin Miller State Park. The hill range looks like Lord of the Rings, 14 targets in the Redwoods. The lower range is 28 fun & challenging targets. The clubhouse looks like it was designed by Julia Morgan!! Great people, fun tournaments; the Western Roundup being my favorite . Bring your bow & have fun today.

What a cool place! So, I went there for the archery range, which turned out to be a really cool experience. But I honestly didnt realize the area existed. There is much more than just archery. There was an observatory adjacent to the archery course. Definitely a place Id like to bring my wife and kids. I did get a little confused on how and where to go for the archery course but I made it just fine. There is what seems like a long and large bike and walking trail head through there as well. Many different types of people and great sights to see. Kind of a hidden gem in Oakland. Check it out!

Swimming pool is fun for kids. There are easy short hiking trails and also longer trails. Can be pretty warm in the summer, but cool when hiking underneath the redwood trees. Lots of joggers using the park and dog walkers as well, who often have their dogs off leashed.

An accessible playground tucked in the redwoods, whats not to love? There is a seasonal swimming pool, lots of lawn and picnic areas, and lovely redwoods. Parking is $5.00 or free if you join the oath district as a member (or you can also park up on the road and walk down).

Amazing archery in the woods. Five dollar recommended contribution, which is no problem. Open to the public, nice and quiet with endless shooting / target options. Targets seriously need a replacement, as do the boards. But otherwise seriously recommend this place. No rentals, bring your own gear. Practice range available

I love being amongst old Redwood and/or Sequoia trees. We come just to sit and take in the essence of ancient energy...it is so therapeutic. I AM an empath but also I AM interested in the Law of Attraction, Quantum and Metaphysics. I collect Stones and Crystals...I take interest in matters of time, space and Universe. In touch with Milky Way and ever interested in the millions of other galaxies...I take interest in so much more than that but overall my point is...this place aligns with all of those things. Its beautiful. You find your spot and sit back and enjoy the Energy and beauty of thousand year old Redwood trees

This is a terrible park and no place for kids , this park is great and not too many people in the winter and springtime. There is a pool which you pay to get in that usually gets filled up on summer days. The play structure here is two floors and has many activities for kids of all ages. There is even a rocking boat and a small climbing wall. Will definitely come back to this hidden treasure!

This park is at the crest of the Oakland hills right near chabot science center. one of the best things about it is it feels like youre out in the middle of the woods even though youre in a suburban area. It feels tremendously comforting just to walk around here.It has a pool, epically large play structure for kids of various ages, picnic area, clubhouse, fields, wooded trails and camping areas and picnic areas. It really has it all. One of the best parks in Oakland for sure.

Lovely open space with a kids playground. My son came here to celebrate a friends birthday and we accidentally went to the wrong picnic birthday at first. Wow. That such a public space like this exists is amazing. A cross between an archery range / a woodland hike / golf course. Loved it. There is an initial set of 14 holes, that extends to 28 on the low side. I have yet to try the hill course that takes it to 42 holes. The targets vary from hunter /one 24, to target practice or four 12, to animals (turkey, bear, squirrel, rabbit, dear, moose, fox etc)

This park is a gem. Its in the Oakland Hills, and makes for a wonderful escape to the redwood forest from the tumultuous flatland below. It has gorgeous groves with clean picnic table areas, a play area for small children, a swimming pool, and a baseball diamond. There is also a field big enough for football or soccer. There is a guard post at the gate charging $5 to access the large parking lot, but this place has something for everyone, so the fee is well worth it.
