A wonderful experience. This has become a tradition for us. We started this 4yrs ago when I was pregnant with our twins. The following year we did the night safari. Last year was the first time we took our twins Jack and James. This year was the most exciting because the twins were super excited. Jack loved the tiger and James loved the monkey. The staff has always been nice to us, but this year was even better. They took the time to talk to us and the boys and could tell which boy liked which animal and catered to their wants. Looking forward to taking the boys on a safari when they are old enough. Wish we could afford to do a private tour, it’s that special to us. Thanks again guys for a great experience.

My husband and I have been here before, admittedly, several years ago. It was a pretty cool experience. I have to say, the elephant that this doc guy rode on, I dont really believe that animal would be so trusting and let the man be on her back if he abused her. That animal could use her size to do whatever she wanted had she felt abused or threatened in any way. I feel like the employees loved the animals, they live with the animal, and help raise them. I just cant see all these people continuing their work here knowing the animals are abused. I also feel like the 900 pound cat could really do whatever he wanted had he felt threatened at any time. So all in all Id like to believe the animals are treated fairly well. I observed very healthy animals and people that loved those animals. I saw monkies, tigers, an elephant, I heard a cheetah purr. Amazing experience.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! Please do your research. This so called sanctuary is not nice for the tigers. The cubs are exploited for foto ops and taken away from their mother minutes after their birth. After they have reached their full size they are no longer as profitabe and discarded and neglected. Please do the right thing and stay away from this horrific animal abuse.

Really cool experience. Staff were very nice!!! Got to hold a baby lemur, baby gibbon, and baby tiger. The only reason I cant give this 5 stars is because of the very little time you get with the tiger. I felt you got your moneys worth for the lemur and Gibbons. My husband and I both held them, cuddled them, etc. But the baby tiger is put in your lap, picture taken; then picked up by workers while you pet them. I got to feed the tiger but they didnt switch the baby so my husband never got to which is a bummer! I really want to do the whole experience at the whole preservation station but just dont have the money.

I visited last August 2019 and i absolutely loved it. I was planning a trip to Myrtle beach when a co worker shared her experience. I was so excited and researched it and saved for my encounter. I didnt find it to be overly expensive since I planned and prepared for it and it helps to support the animals. And my husband thats not as big a fan as me was able to partake in the experience and was blown away by it. Everything cost and if you have house pets you know that. Im looking forward to visiting again and getting updated pictures. Holding a tiger cub was a dream come true. I relive the moment everytime I see its paw in my hand.

Id rate it lower id I could. They say they care for their animals but they dont. Two tigers in an closed glass room with NO WATER. Its 85° out. They have one fan for the both of them. They have a small screen on one wall thats it. Yall charge so much and dont even take proper care of the animals youre handling. I hope no one supports these animal breeding companies. Disgusting and I hope you get shut down and let those babies back in the wild where they belong and where they get to live their lives and WILD ANIMALS.

Highly Recommend! This place is a hidden gem! Been visiting myrtle beach for years and never knew about this experience. That being said it might be “pricey” but was WELL worth the money..I mean how many times in your life have you held a baby tiger?! When you visit.. ask questions! The young lady at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and shared with us information on their amazing programs helping to save wildlife, which our money helps support! They also have a preserve where the animals live when they are not here.. WHICH YOU CAN VISIT for safaris and more.. already saving up to come back for that next year !!! Unbelievable experience for the entire family!!! First and most important the animals all seem happy, playful and well taken care of. They are not kept Im tiny glass cages as some people have described. There were 6 tiger cubs there that were rotated through. The animals are taken there for a few hours a day for the public to view FOR FREE! They live in a much bigger area away from the Barefoot landing area.Cost: while it is expensive, it is worth every penny to help take care of these beautiful animals. You get one 8 x 10 photo and can purchase The entire package in a digital download if you choose for an extra $100. Again, it is pricey but well worth it as you get about 40 pictures. We were able to take a picture with a gibbons monkey and two different tigers. The staff was courteous, knowlegable and answered all our questions. We had our reservation at 6:00, we showed up about 30 minutes prior and were first in line. Contrary to the negative reviews they seemed well organized and were able to move people through rather quickly yet we did not feel rushed!Thank you to the wonderful staff for a great experience that my family and I will never forget! We will be back soon for the safari!

I still can not believe that I had a Tiger on my lap :-) Words can not express the emotion and excitement you feel when you are up close to these beautiful animals (Ambassadors as they are called by the staff). The staff did a great job of educating us about the animals and explaining the importance of what they do to preserve these amazing creatures. The animals are very well cared for and their handlers truly treat them like family. You can almost see the smiles throughout the animals. This is truly something you have to experience to appreciate what they do. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about how we can all contribute to the preservation of some of these endangered animals. I look forward to visiting again.

Our children love the Tiger preservation. We have visited it 3 times and also did the night safari. We usually purchase tickets before we come on vacation. This year we weren’t sure how many were coming. I went online to purchase tickets this week and was confused and then angry about the price being 200 more than normal because we didn’t purchase the week before we came on vacation. So... people are penalized if they don’t purchase in advance? Kids are disappointed but we refuse to pay an extra 200.

It made me feel awful but he understood. I just wish it was more affordable so people with lower incomes can enjoy these beautiful creatures too. Our first time back visiting Myrtle Beach in years T.I.GE.R.S. was the top on our list to do with our kids. We were very disappointed this time, unfortunately its not what it used to be like. When we lived here I used to come see them a lot, did encounters also did the safari and loved it. After speaking with Tilakam briefly we decided to do the encounter. I felt like we were mislead on what we got. It was very rushed, and besides the woman with the gibbon the staff was not very friendly. My younger son (whos 6 and the one who begged to do it) even mentioned what a let down it was. Definitely wouldnt do an encounter again and sad to say after the experience there I doubt we would try to safari again either.

One of the coolest experiences of my life. You can tell they really care for the animals there. You get to hold baby gibbon monkeys, tigers, and pet lynx, timber wolves, pet/hug an elephant, watch eagles and chimps feed/play. Very interactive. I even got a couple kisses on the face from a timber wolf. A memory I will never forget. They are firm with the rules there and for good reason. For the people reporting things felt rushed, I can agree but I wholeheartedly believe it’s because it’s whats best for the animals. We need to remember that while they are well trained and acclimated to human contact, they are still in fact, wild animals with base instincts. The probably get overwhelmed and that’s why things can be cut short. 100% recommend and I plan on going back.

We have made several trips to the Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing and that’s enjoyable enough itself. However, a few weekends ago we were given the amazing opportunity to attend the night safari. I have to struggle to find the words to even begin to describe being a part of that experience. It was incredible. I was in tears the majority of the time just being in the presence of these amazing creatures. Monkeys, ligers, wolves, parrots, an elephant...I could go on and on. However the Tigers are who have my heart. They were my favorite.Besides the incredible creatures that call this wonderful place home, you also having an amazing staff here. Really to call them staff is an insult. They are truly one big family. The animals and the people together. They are fighting so hard to further conservation efforts and are ACTUALLY making a difference. They truly love these beings and it shows, not only in the way they care and interact with them, but in how the animals themselves respond to each individual. There is no sadness or fear, there is just love there.I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone considering going...just please, take my advice. It is well worth every penny, every minute of your travel for this experience. Plus, the cost of the safari itself goes not to frivolous things, but to the utmost care of these breathtaking creatures. What better way to spend the money? Helping to work towards saving a species??! If you have the opportunity to go, do NOT pass it up!! We 100% will be returning.Truly amazing.
