Its iconic. The positives are plentiful: Art Deco architecture, various cafes and eateries both inside Rockefeller center and in the vicinity, a stunning Christmas tree and gorgeous seasonal decor of the entire plaza during the holiday season, a skating rink, lots to please to eye. The negative is that its impossible to navigate during Christmas/NYE season, yet the locals still brave the mad throngs to capture special moments together.

Always a wonderful time to visit the Rockefeller center and enjoy the Xmas tree. The ice skating rink is a beautiful addition for the holiday season. This year, there are fewer people than usual and you can get pretty close to the tree. Rockefeller center is fine during the day but it comes alive at night. The lights look amazing and so does the tree. Just dont expect it to be quite like it is in Home Alone 2, the place is always busy unless you are there early. Also go to the top of the rock observatory as well but do that during the day so you can see central park. We went to the top of Rock during the day and also top of the Empire State building at night, both great views and also different if you do one during the day and the other at night.

Rockefeller where you want to be during christmasSince I came to the USA, I always try to visit Newyork during Christmas. Its always festive kinda feeling around Rockefeller center-radio city- that red big ball at 6th Avenue. its kind of pilgrimage for us. even when I was in PA-CT-VA, I did visit during Christmas here. coming to Rockefeller, if you want to avoid the crowd, visit before Christmas weekend or visit during weekdaysthe crowd can be bit frustrating and annoying at times. they come in 100s and you wont even have a space for turning yourself away. The rink is open for skating during Christmas. Looking at the tree and purple building at the backdrop, it is such a beautiful sight. In the building, there are 4-5 restaurants to dine and also a few shops for shopping but I doubt you ll get a seat.another great thing not to miss around Rockefeller is lighting show at 5th avenue just in front of the building. on certain intervals ( i guess 10 mins) it keeps repeating and it is spectacular. cant describe in words.in fact, whole 5th and 6th avenue is superbly beautiful during Christmas. The 2018 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was lit on November 28 at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th and West 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The Tree will remain lit and can be viewed until 9 pm on January 7, 2019.

Wouldnt be the Christmas season without a visit to Rockefeller center Christmas tree with the family. Was wary at first because of an article read about aggressive Cartoon characters that were harassing tourists, but thankfully they were not present when we went. Just the usual out of towners, who for the most part were friendly and polite and helped to make the experience fun. Some stops at Lego, St Patricks Cathedral and the statue of Atlas helped make our visit brighter and complete.

I come once a year to see the tree and it was magnificent today, as it always is! Christmas time cannot get any better in New York City. Weve had great weather and weve been lucky. This beautiful Christmas tree exemplifies what New York means to the world. Its beauty and its stature mean so much to native New Yorkers and tourists throughout the world. We are thankful as a city that we can be so hospitable to millions around the globe. Please enjoy your Christmas season in New York and have a happy New Year. If you can afford it go shopping and dont forget to visit Saint Patricks cathedral across the street. Light a candle and maybe all your wishes will come true. Enjoy!

Iconic, massive and beautiful. The tree is a New York and national staple. Is a backdrop that is seen all over TV and classic Christmas. It is at the end of the corridor with angels lining the path and the skating rink below. When in NYC near the holidays, it is a must see and near many other core decor like Saks and their full building and window displays. Great place to people watch. While beautiful during the day, you have to go at night when all lit up.

When Friday came around, the streets in and around Times Square and Rockefeller Center were super crowded. If you can plan a trip anytime from Sunday to Thursday, it should be a great experience.
