A straightforward park fit for a warmup sesh downtown. It’s aging but mostly in a good way. The large size of it keeps it from feeling too crowded generally, and there are so many things to skate that it’s hard to get bored. The swampy perimeter of the park is a risk for ruining your board. There’s a likelihood of seeing NYC pros here sometimes which is cool, and it’s near a ton of street spots as well as Labor skate shop.
So many rippers. Other than a few small areas where the flat concrete is showing its age, this park is in great shape and has a lot of everything from small chiefs and manual pads to stairs, rails, hips, kickers, a giant apple...if youre coming to NYC to skate this is a must visit park. Nice and gritty, like going to SF in the 90s.
Awesome skatepark always fun to skate with your friends and all around a good place but the ground is a little rough but other than that a great skatepark.
Famous park and lives up to its status. Must checkout.
Park is nice but people leave their trash there and stealing from the deli on the corner of Monroe
Not too bad, haven’t skated in a while
This place is beautiful, I always walk pass this park and can never help but to stay and observe for a bit because its everything good. I see people from all walks of life enjoying this magical place that located just beneath the Brooklyn bridge. How much better could it get then that. All are always welcome.
Best and most iconic skate park in NYC hands down. It can get busy really busy so come early.
Great Skatepark. My son who is 12 years old had a great time. There are some really good skaters there to watch. Everyone is pretty cool. Its a safe place to hang out. Can get pretty busy in the afternoons.
Coop park, they should have more stairs tho
Best skatepark In Lower Manhattan NYC.... Actually, ALL of Manhattan. Built to perfection, and its the only one of its kind and/or caliber anywhere around for miles, and miles, and miles.... Official Extreme Skating Events/Competitions, are frequently held here due to its unique, professional build, and feel. Now, with its location being under the Manhattan Bridge, close to 2 major subway routes, surrounded on ALL SIDES by housing projects, and neighborhood crime. Some of the only bad things about the park are some of the people who frequent this park, are hardened drug dealers, and users. Most, NOT ALL... but, DEFINITELY MOST of the skaters are either trouble-makers, homeless, vulgar, and/or feel very ENTITLED to everything. Ive lived in this immediate area most of my entire life and, there was never any trouble until the skate park was built. For example... at the Deli down the block, kids are CONSTANTLY stealing, and fighting... As well as, trying to intimidate young children, as well as ADULTS! It is a rather UNSAVORY group, to say the least.
Its only fun early in the morning, too many pro skater mentalities going on at once...
Awesome skate park. A good mix of people of all ages and skill level.
Its got pretty basic stuff but still fun. I think it just gets a lot of hype because of the location and videos it appears in. The one day I was here Id say about half the people coming through were just there for the aesthetic. Hardly anyone was skating (which was good for me). Obviously lots of places to eat nearby and convenience stores. You can actually drive in pretty easily and find parking within a couple of blocks. Best part of the park was the small quarters. They were built perfectly.
Straight free crack for skaters, dope Park.
Being build under the bridge is a dope location for this fun skatepark. The ground is nice and smooth with a bunch of different ledges, boxes, and transitions. The park is surprisingly big which allows it get be packed with a ton of people and still be skate-able. If you live in the city this is a great place to get a grungy street vibe.
Big, open, good quality concrete. Good friendly atmosphere too.
Great skatepark, terrible locals. Two skaters tried to start a fight with me after crashing into me standing on top of the quarter pipe. I ride a BMX so I was already expecting a bit of discrimination, lucky I was there with a huge group of riders or it may have gotten worse. These skaters need to get off their high horses and enjoy the park as a communal facility.
Great place to go on weekdays on days off - too crowded on weekends - fun place with many good attributes - from rails to pyramid - just please stay the f away from me if I am there - lol
I highly recommend this skatepark to all skaters out there. The transition is flawless, the rails are to perfection, and they have the most perfect Manny pads and Ledges there. But since the park is so perfect I highly recommend going early in the day because later it gets pretty packed.
A good place to go if you’re just starting out, and people from all over at different ages with different skill levels come here. If you’re a beginner, go in the mornings.
A great place for baseball and they also have a skatepark there as well
It was a dope park. Hopefully get back up to NY soon to skate it.
If you love skateboarding
People were super nice and live skating a lot. Were very easy to approach and talk to.
Because is cool park for our skateboard
This park is perfect. Located under the Manhattan bridge screams New York. This was so much talent when I was there and it pushes you even harder to become better. Like my old boss said, how can you fly when you surround yourself with turkeys... lol So many different styles there that creates diversity and its big enough for everyone to skate. It has some good transition, experience levels ranging from novice to master for the structures. I cant express my love enough. Go here if you skate period. I rate this a 5 star due to its location, size, and diversity of people.
Cool place to hang out
I did a nose manuel
Has everything you need all the way down to ramps and all the way up to rail and ledges. Has a hip and a stair case with a rail. One of my favorite for sure you just he to keep moving because there’s usually a lot of people.
Almost a decade of the Parks opening and it is still a great spot to check out pros, chill and of course skate, a little bit of everything but mostly street. Go there and taste the nyc skate scene.
Such a sick park but gets crowded other than that it’s so sick I love it
Awesome skatepark gem in the lower. Awesome street skating spot.
Smoked big dope on the scene
My mom tripped on a scooter and cracked her skull open on the hip
Best skatepark downtown
Its alright
Its valid
Huge street styled park. Good for scooters, BMX, skateboards, and blades. Can be packed but most people arent riding but sitting on the sides
Love skating here with my son.
Perfect park! But why doesn’t the city or New York State fund for maintenance of these parks during the frigid ass weather! ️
The most serious skatepark in the city.
Never been but looks sick
Disappointed
Filthy, reeks of pot and urine, people hanging out and passing around a bottle. Looks like an excellent place to get mugged. Avoid unless youre into that kind of thing.
It was nice
Great park. Locals are friendly and helpful.
