When we were visiting New York, we stopped to watch Invisible Life (great movie) at the Film Forum. The theatre is great, its quaint (no reclining chairs and smaller viewing rooms) but thats what gives it charm. We had a great time while we were here. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and classic movie selections.

I was pleased that I came to visit this movie house. The place was clean, the seats were comfortable, and the screen was big, clear, and loud. Besides, the staff that entertained me at that time was very helpful, nice, and accommodating. Eventually, I truly have fun watching movies in your place. It was satisfying! Thanks!

Film Forum has hands-down been my favorite movie theater in New York. They mainly show classics and some independent films. My favorite experience here was seeing Wim Wenders Wings of Desire. This epitomizes the unpretentious LES theater, where you can grab a bag of popcorn, see a movie, and chill. Looking forward to coming back here for many years.

Acceptable prices for popcorn and cola. I recommend this cinema to everyone. Also suitable for family watching movies. Come and evaluate yourself.

Been coming for more than 13 years- love the programming. BUT WARNING:: THE SEATING IS SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE!! You’ll leave with a stiff lower back bc the Seats have no lumbar support and the lower back area is actually concave so you’re slouched forward as you’re angled upward. Not good for anybody prone to back issues. And they’re made of this gross rubber. It’s like sitting in a tire swing that you’re perpetually sinking into the middle hole of

They also have an adjoined parking structure with many levels but of parking but it takes sometime to get in and out of. Park on the street if you can find a space or uber if you dont mind paying.

Film Forum is an institution, one that continues to meet the bar its set for itself. Ive seen so many favorite movies here for the first time, and more than once the lights have come up and Ive looked down the row to see Wallace Shawn in the audience. A few years ago, Laurie Anderson debuted her film, Heart of a Dog, here, at a public event in a typically small theater, and opened her own heart as she answered questions about it. I adore this place.

We saw Nureyev-the documentary 2x in the past week. Last time I was there was in college for Werner Herzog and they still had chairs for seats. It is a full blown la-ti-da theater now with new seats, a nice restroom, snack bar with real food and I must say the movies are the best-they even have kiddie movies on the weekends. A membership is $50 a year and then ALL films are $9. It pays in this sense to support your local non-profit theatre!

They have a 1970s film fest. Each film they chose forms part of this well curated ensemble. I am so glad that Film Forum is part of the cultural life of the city. I come here about 4 or 5 times a year and am always looking at their offerings. Film Forum is one of the reasons I love living in Manhattan.Film forum is very smart in that it doesnt only market to the Art House types, but also tries to get new, emerging, film lovers in its doors. They have lots of offerings for kids and have a good diversity of movies.

I love this treasure of a theater. I find it hard to know what else to say about it, of course, except that its a great spot to see everything from a classic movie to a great documentary, and a beautiful way to support the arts. Their food options are simple, but in addition to the basic popcorn and soda, they also offer a selection of teas and baked goods, which is my new favorite accompaniment to a movie.

Movie selection is good. I went there after the renovation, and the seats were so high that I cannot rest the entirety of my feet on the floor if I want to recline on the back. I’m 5’6” and I’m sure there are smaller people out there. It’s UNCOMFORTABLE!Edited: Ok so I went back to see the Carol Reed double feature (which, by the way, was mind-blowingly good) and took a relatively front seat in auditorium #2 (previously I went to auditorium #3). That seat was lower and comfortable.

The theaters and screens are small, but thats where youll find excellent first-run independent and foreign films, as well as classics.
