The last movie we watched here was last month. We always choose this cinema whenever we wanted to watch a movie. We loved the atmosphere here, and they are not too cold! Their reclining seats were very clean and comfortable. They also offer a snack corner to munch while watching the movie. We had their hot dog and popcorn, and it was the best!

To me, this place is the best ever! This cinema house is always on top when it comes to providing a great movie experience for us moviegoers. They also have the best snacks available, especially popcorns, and sodas to complete the movie experience. A truly wonderful place to relax and enjoy a movie together with your friends! Strongly recommended!

The lobby in the theater scene clean sold in the bathroom to stop was decent even though I felt like they kind of forgot about us in theater 2, one of the other customers had to ask what happened to the movie and they started the movie nearly 10 past the start time. As far as the picture quality and the sound it most definitely felt like a 90s movie theater, the sound quality with standard and the seating was a bit uncomfortable. I would most definitely go again but only if I get the tickets at a discount price like I did with Groupon.

I went here to see The Dawn Wall and I was really impressed. Their customer service is exemplary. I bought two tickets then realized I couldnt go for the day I originally bought them for, and they helped me change the tickets to a different day. I loved the small theater feel and really enjoyed the movie. I will definitely come here again.

I went here in College and it is nice that it is still here. You cannot fault a place which gives discounts to seniors, students, and children of its own accord. We saved $30! At least! The popcorn was delicious and the staff was polite and kind. The movie was good and there were not 40 minutes of previews and commercials. It was not too loud-just right. Truly unique and independent. What a great place-we will probably try to frequent it as often as we can!

Ive been seeing movies at Cinema Village since, could it be, 1997? I came to New York to complete my final internship for my doctorate in clinical/community psychology and was working at a community mental health clinic--The 5th Avenue Center--right around the corner (10th and 5th). Oh how we all needed a break from the mayhem (patients included, wed sometime run into them there). Happy that your still around!

Smaller theaters, but fine. Picture and sound were great-neither too loud or soft. More of a hub for independent films, great for that since it was literally the only theater showing the picture I wanted to see (in Darkness). Worth it.

Nice small theater with three screens. Numbers one & two are upstairs and number three is downstairs with the bathrooms. Its not very large and the seats are a bit narrow for a fat man but at $8 for seniors, kids, and students and only $12 for adults how much can you compkain? At those prices walking downstairs to see Roseamund Pike in A Perfect War was well worth the trouble. Since theater three is only seventy-one seats buy your tickets early and arrive early. The same advice is probably good for theaters one & two. Enjoy!

Its spartan. But,its well maintained. It probably, has more esoteric films, than any movie-theater. Even,in Manhattan. Its may not have the decor, of the nearby Quad Cinema. Still,it certainly, deserves to flourish.

The selection of films are impeccable. However, the people who seem to work there really dont care about what art is playing or not, they swipe the ticket and thats it. I tried to have a conversation about the films and I got blank stares, weird for a movie theater catered towards independent and art house films. The seats are uncomfortable except for the main theatre which is fine and beautiful, but for the other smaller ones, they are extremely cold and have terrible seats. Such a weird experience. Youd think theyd hire people who care about the craft and the films, but it seems like they really dont care, youre just money walking in and out, and they dont try and hide it by being nice.

A very fun place to see an independent movie. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon recently to see Laugh Killer Laugh. The theatre where I saw the film was small and probably had forty or fifty seats. There were only seven people at this particular showing, so it was a very intimate experience. The sound was really good and not too loud like you find in so many modern cinemas. The seats arent that comfortable (they dont recline) and this is my only complaint about my entire visit. The concessions are cheaply priced for a cinema. I had a fountain Pepsi and a small popcorn for five bucks. The old style vibe of the cinema and the great selection of films will definitely bring me back here in the future.

Ive never been so hot and stuffy as I was watching a movie last night. Do they have air conditioning? If so, they should consider turning it on for the sake of the filmmakers - watching my movie became significantly worse for the sweltering temperatures. I dont intend to come back here unless they are showing something I cant see anywhere else.
