Legendary club in New Orleans. I had always wanted to go. Went on Wednesday night. I felt like the place was oversold because it was so crowded upstairs and down. It was extremely hot as well. Stayed one set of the headliner due to it being so hot. The opener wasnt my taste in music & vastly different than the next act. It was a struggle to get through his set. Drinks were good & reasonably priced.

Its a hole in the wall styled joint with a pair of arena sized brass balls... To play here is more coveted than playing at house of blues... Theres something quantitative about the bones of this place that makes it feel right for the soul... For whatever reason, life seems more fulfilling watching an act perform here.

Zydeco at the iconic Tips. Box checked will always make a stop on future trips to NOLA. Welcoming locals and tourists alike. Great drinks, great music, iconic experience.Pro tip: there are some notable stops and eats in the Garden District on your way to/ from add in Jaques Imos or a stop at the Maple Leaf on Oak Street. And dont forget a souvenir hoody, I almost never take it off.

Tipitinas is an epic music venue. I have loved it since the first time I went. The vibe is awesome and the acoustics are great. Plus, you can take a picture with a bust of Professor Longhair! A definite must-see while visiting New Orleans - I will buy tickets to shows I hate just to visit the place! ️

Ive wanted to see a show here for years! Finally made it to New Orleans and saw a band at Tipitinas! So fun! A bit dive bar-ish, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Tipitinas is a famous music venue and has an interesting history. Cant wait to go again.

Legendary NOLA venue a must visit if you love music on any level. Anyone who is anyone in New Orleans has played Tipitinas over the years and now (as of this week) owned by the guys from Galactic means it is 100% locally owned and operated.

What can I say about Tipitinas that hasnt been said? Nothing. Its a legend in a city of legendary venues. On most nights, the lighting and sound are extraordinary as are the acts booked. Bartenders are fast and FoH staff are friendly and efficient. I cant wait to see how the venue does under the guidance of Galactic. Keep on keepin on!

The granddaddy of New Orleans live music venues. Great, standing-room-only club that is now smoke-free!My first show here was Gene Loves Jezebel, circa 1985. Last night I celebrated the 78th birthday of Rock n Roll/Rhythm & Blues legend Deacon John Moore in an intimate show. Deke rocks! His 10-piece ensemble is tight.Tips could have at least one employee clearing refuse from the unused bar nearest the stage... The first-set trash was a gross impediment to resting my $3 bottled water. [No Perrier or Pelligrino here, folks.]

They allow way too many people in, which I am pretty sure is a fire hazard and violation. Also, the people attending the concerts talk the entire time. Why would you pay so much money for a ticket and not listen to the music? It makes no sense. Will not go back. It is not enjoyable at all.

New Orleans standard for music halls. Tipitinas has been hosting amazing music for decades, and doesnt look to slow down as it had been acquired fairly recently by the members of Galactic. I am 53 and first came to Tipitinas when I was 18 (legal drinking age in New Orleans back then). I have so many memories over years and years from here. Most if not all of the bastions of New Orleans music, many who have recently passed, have played here at some point. If you are visiting, I cant think of a more storied music hall at which to see a show. Definitely worth a cab/uber ride, so check it out. Only open for music, not a bar to hang out at and just drink.

Tipitinas is one of the happiest places on Earth. And now that Tank is the GM, it is even happier! If you like live music, youll love Tips. If you like a band, they sound better at Tips. If youve seen a musician play at some other venue, and youre thinking about skipping the Tipitinas show... dont miss it! All bands play better at Tips! For you folks who come around for Jazzfest or Mardi Gras, and get turned off by the crowd... Come back to Tips in the off-season, and get funky! Great spot. Nice folks. Great service. Great beer selection. However... I paid real money to see a favorite performer. Couldnt hear anything of value over the constant din of yelling crowd conversation. I thought it would simmer down once the band started, but no. It turned out to be a big loud social hall with barely legible music playing somewhere in the background. A refund would have been nice. BTW: This is no discredit to the sound guys or the band. Im sure they did their best. But as a concert experience, it sucked.

You haven’t been to New Orleans until you’ve been to Tipitina’s. There’s a big dance floor not really any chairs. Most of the time it’s standing room only. When the band takes a break go hang out outside, You may make some new friends. Also, there’s usually a taco truck or some kind a food truck outside. This is where the radio station, WWOZ First broadcast out of. This is a classic New Orleans venue and favorite of the locals.
