I am a member of the Herman-Grima Gallier Houses and am thrilled they havent let isolation slow them down. I also teach Professional Tour Guiding 1, Professional Tour Guiding 2 and The French Quarter history class at Delgado Community College - we are teaching remotely (on Zoom) - several of our students attended the lecture. It made for a GREAT field trip for Delgado. THANK YOU!

I just attended Dr. Justin Nystrom virtual talk, Whiskey, Boxing, and Politics: The Lost New Orleans of Big Jim Comiskey, hosted by Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses and I really enjoyed it! The facilitator was very nice and effective! I appreciated the questions from other audience members, and Dr. Nystrom did a great job answering them! Thank you so much for this program that taught me new things about my family roots and the history of New Orleans etc.

Gallier House1126 RoyalNew Orleans, LABuilt more than 150 years ago, this home is an elegant example of the Victorian-era lifestyle and design. It was one of the first to have both hot and cold running water in the mid-19th century. And, you’ve guessed it: This home belonged to famous architects James Gallier and his son James Gallier Jr.

I attended the online event, Hard Acts to Follow, about life in New Orleans during previous epidemics. Owen Ever, the presenter, was engaging, informed, energetic, humorous, and his collection of images enhanced his presentation perfectly! Thank you for educating and entertaining me during the pandemic.

Great tour of one of the houses on Royal St! Weve walked past it so many times and had missed it. You walk through the whole property(which is much larger than it looks from the street) with the guide. Our guide knew everything about the place and obviously enjoyed his work. Definitely recommend.

An hour well spent to learn about this fascinating Creole family and how real family life and society functioned in the mid to late 1800s in the French Quarter. Take the time to visit this precious landmark in New Orleans.

A riveting, timely production - well crafted script, ingenious staging, fine period costume, excellent acting, intimate historical setting. Innovative and gripping stuff from Goat in the Road.

The exterior belies the richness of the Gallier House. An inheritance inventory allowed the restoration to be as faithful as possible. Excellent guide, and a fair amount to see. History buffs will enjoy.

One of my favorite things we did in Nola was tour this historic home. When you step inside it is breath taking. It was so interesting to learn about this family s life in the 1800s and be immersed in it. Wonderful tour guide and liked the small group size.

Wonderful tour, beautiful furnishings. This is a great tour to give you an idea of what life would have been for this architect and his family. Restored to perfection and very educational tour and the least expensive tour I did while in New Orleans. Highly recommend if you love seeing old homes.

They dont post their hours anywhere but on the web, so we went over on Wednesday and it was closed. We came back today at 10am, it was closed. No information on their door. Just said come by later. Got their brochure. No date/time information. Called the main number and it went to someones voice mail. We went back at noon and it was open but no tours until 1. Weve now spent our whole morning just trying to find out when to come in. Very frustrating indeed. Sure its worthwhile, but is it really too much trouble to put your hours on the door?
