The one unplanned stop on our trip, and one of the best. We saw the sign and went inside for my husband to get Irish Coffee, and when Michael heard that I dont like coffee he immediately offered to make me a similar kind of morning pick me up drink, but with tea. They were so nice and the bar was so pleasant, with really tasty drinks. Would highly recommend stopping in there!

I absolutely want to love this place. Nice courtyard, definitely Irish themed, definitely Irish culture with a museum. But for the life of me I’ve not managed in 4 visits to buy a Guinness. Every single time they’re out. And if you don’t have draft Guinness, you’re no better than a liquor or grocery store.

Stumbled onto it by accident when my sister and i ducked into a side street to regroup from the heaf and crowds. Fantastic oasis of quiet in the madhouse that is mardi gras. The drinks are traditional irish and great, I didnt try the food but the other patrons all seemed happy. Appeared to be primarily light fare. The cultural exhibits were really cool, had no idea there was that level of irish influence on New Orleans. The french history kind of overwhelms other cultural contributions throughout the years. (Not that the French influence isnt cool as hell too). My favorite part? Its SHADED. When theres 3000 people on a single blacktop street in 75° weather finding shade was a godsend. Check it out.

This place is absolutely beautiful and made the perfect place for my wedding! The family was extremely nice and helpful and made sure everything was perfect!! Even while all the chaos was going on with my wedding they made it a point to close me and my new husband off from the crowd to sit us down and have a moment to ourselves and serve us some food to make sure we had something to eat. I found that to be so heart warming and personal that I will remember that forever!! The food was absolutely delicious and home made!!! Their son Luke was our DJ and did such a good job with our music list and the transitioning he was great!!! The whole experience was perfect, it even rained and the venue was so perfectly covered that it didnt seem to bother anybody!!! I am so glad my planner recommended this place.

PERFECT WEDDING EXPERIENCE!! My now husband and I decided we wanted to get married in New Orleans (we live in the Chicago area) after we visited the first time, we fell in love with the romance and history of the city. After a lot of researching, google searching, help from the Visitor and Convention Bureau, we found the Irish Cultural Museum. We booked site unseen after many email conversations with Matthew, he made us feel so at ease, was so responsive to our many questions and that was important to us booking a venue from the Chicago area. We definitely did not go wrong! Our wedding was an absolute dream and we can not thank Matthew and his entire family for making that happen! From day one, they were so helpful with everything. It is stressful planning a wedding, let alone from 1,000 miles away but I never worried about anything. The venue is absolutely beautiful!! You honestly dont need many decorations or flowers, it is stunning just how it is. We held our ceremony here and then while we did the traditional second line, our wedding planner, Matthew and his family switched from the ceremony set up to the reception. I loved that their packages are so inclusive because it makes the planning process such a breeze. There was more than enough room for our approximately 40 guests to eat dinner, dance and just enjoy the entire experience. The food was absolutely delicious too! All of our guests kept raving about the chicken salad and the beef/ potatoes. My husband loved the jambalaya. You can not go wrong trusting Matthew and his family to make your day beautiful! I am so very happy that we found them and entrusted them, you know they honestly care that you and your guests have a great time and enjoy everything about your experience. We could not of asked for a better experience and a more beautiful wedding day, and the Irish Cultural Museum was such a big part in that, we cant wait to visit next year for our anniversary. We will definitely be stopping in for a drink and to say hello to them!!

Picture this: youre walking through the oppressively hot sun trying to hide from your friend just how out of shape you are and how much youd really like to just find a fainting couch and some air conditioning, when this place crops up.Its quiet. Its out of the way. They have whiskey in the back, and a bartender who gives the kind of experience you only see in movies and TV. I can count on one hand the number of times Ive been able to do something like that. The next time Im in New Orleans, I plan to stagger my visit around this place as a respite throughout the day.
