Do you like performing arts? Well youll love this little spot!Ive been here a few times for an improvisational show and it has alway been really solid and funny. They have a little bar where they sell drinks and a back yard seating area you can just relax to hangout before the show.Definitely check this spot out!Only recommendation is park on the main street, doesnt seem like the best area. A lot of trash and stuff in front on the sidewalk.

Awesome spot to see improv shows and take classes. Tami is the best teacher; so supportive and skillful.

I decided to invest in a class with The New Movement Improv Group. $250 for 8 weeks. I would not recommend this class to anyone. Prior to the pandemic, it was constantly cancelled (with less than 2 hours notice every single time) for things within their control (attendance, Mardi Gras parades that wouldn’t effect the class location for example) and they are not offering any type of refund or credit. We were 4 classes behind due to cancellations and we have no sign of restarting in sight. We were offered impersonal responses to our emails, and YouTube videos about improv. They also offered to send us their book (not included with class cost) but I haven’t received that nor a confirmation that it would be sent out. This class was a really big waste of money. I’m extremely disappointed.

Something different to do in the city. If you’re here to visit! These guys really seem to enjoy what they do and they are pretty darn good at it!

My NOLA birthday surprise night took me to this hidden oasis in the Marigny. Loved it! A cozy little fire pit and friendly bartender making me whatever cocktail I could dream up kept me from seeing the comedy show I was supposed to see. But the bartender was so sweet she offered me and my hubby tickets to see the next nights show (gratis birthday gift!). We ended up quoting parts of the show to each other all night!

Awesome little bar and comedy stage. Cheap drinks, different comedians every weekend. Just moved to the neighborhood and feel like I discovered a gem. Added bonus - Hanks is next door!

I attended my first comedy show here in January 2018 and immediately signed up for classes. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! The owners Chris and Tami are incredibly supportive, the students are sweet and funny, and the Rosewood Bar Patio is one of the coolest places to hang out any night of the week! I now consider TNM my second home and I encourage anyone with an interest in laughing to come check it out!

New movement theatre is a glorious playground of postmodern improv. If you want to laugh without seeing the same 4 dudes in different colored shirts ask for a location, this is definitely your jam.

The shows are hilarious and stupid-cheap ($5!). Especially excellent are The Megaphone Show on Saturdays at 10:30 and 1919 on Sundays at 8PM.The classes are a lot of fun, well-taught, and a great entry point to the comedy scene here in NOLA. Students also get into shows free. Like, as many shows as you want.

Great show. Horrible display of gratuitous eating, poor planning and a message of virtue. 11/10, would watch people drink raw tofu again. Everyone should make a stop here.

Excellent. Didnt know what to expect upon arrival but must say I had the time of my life at an affordable price. Cannot wait to go back. My husband is hard to make laugh but he had a great time as well. Thanks for the laughs...Keep America smiling.

I took improv classes here and loved every second of it. The staff and students are friendly and the whole community is extremely welcoming. TNM also brings in some amazing performers with national renown, recently Judah Friedlander and Wyatt Cenac. A gem!
