Simple but quality bar food. We had oysters perfectly fried, crisp outside and not greasy while soft and creamy inside. Proper drinks and beers to suit all tastes. An outside garden in back is lovely but smoking is allowed. Our well behaved dog was welcome in the bar which is snug and cozy and staffed by cheerful people who appear to enjoy their jobs. Television is present but not obtrusive. A delightful alternative to the drinks of Bourbon Street

My favorite local bar in the French Quarter! Dog friendly, incredible food and staff! Best place to watch sports, with over 16+ TV’s and a lush courtyard. The food is local favorites and especially the oysters are delicious whether you like them chargrilled or raw. Prices are great too! Can’t wait to come back!

So we went 3 days in a row this past weekend. True story. We stopped in Saturday afternoon on the way back from a socially distanced walk in the QTR, and noticed they had crawfish mac, which is one of my favorites. We decided to grab lunch, I got the crawfish mac & it DID NOT disappoint - in fact, it was great! Also had the stuffed jalapenos and they were amazing as well. Service was also excellent!Went back Sunday night to grab dinner and watch the Saints game...food & service was great again.Monday night we knew we wanted something good, we had two great dinners at MRB and we knew they had oysters....so we went back again. Actually had the same server from Saturday, very friendly, and had some amazing chargrilled oysters. We were very happy with the experience and cant wait to get back!

The most overrated place in the city. The food is crazy expensive. They give you 6 shrimps with barbecue sauce for 15 dollars. The shrimps are not good even. The food is bad.Edit: Thanks for letting us know. I will definitely try again.

The beer was cold on a hot New Orleans night. The selection of beer was pretty sweet, too. The bar staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I cant remember the young ladys name, but she got me to try something a little different from my normal go-to. The atmosphere and music were on point. the courtyard was sweet!

Bartenders were very nice and helpful. Went out back to order food. You place an order and they send a text to your phone then its ready and you come back to the window and pick it up. The women taking the order was extremely rude to the person in front of me. I went up to order and she basically said Im not going to call you when your food is ready if you dont tip me. Got a full refund and walked out! Where Im from you tip for GOOD service....not just for doing your job.

This is where cool tourists go. ~overheard in the secret patio from a regular. It is true - there may not be crazy tourists, live music, or beads, but this place is where you enjoy the culture with the locals. Comfortable lounge, great owners, and a secret lounge in the back (way back) with basketball connect four and a projector screening movies and sometimes nintendo 64! I have been to NOLA many times with various budgets, and this is for everyone.

First time visiting this place because they had what has to be the first crawfish of the season. I’m very impressed! The crawfish was good, the drinks were strong, and they had some yummy seasonal specials. My friend has the grill cheese with tomato sauce and said it was good. We’ll be back!

Absolutely love this place. Ive visited New Orleans twice in the last 3 years from Chicago and this is the spot where my wife and I spent the most of our drinking and hanging out time. The staff is welcoming and my wife and her family loved the fresh oysters provided by Woodies in the back. We treat this place like its our own private spot. Great times! Cant wait to get back.

The new owners of MRB are really cool people. The courtyard is great and has a misting fan which is awesome for the Heat and sometimes they show movies or cartoons in their secondary back Courtyard. dont expect the fastest service youve ever had but the trade-off is a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere so its totally worth it. Also, they have a ton of board games including a superhero Rockem sockem and a pool table as well as a ping pong table. Oh, and did I mention they are dog friendly?

I came here because it was a cool looking place with lots of TVs that would be chill enough to watch my Purdue Boilermakers play an NCAA tournament game in the late afternoon in peace. The venue did not disappoint; the game most definitely did. Thankfully, Abita strawberry lager and various liquors took the sting out of probably the most soul-crushing tournament loss I can remember. Some random hippie on Frenchman Street later typed me a special poem to sum up the evening: f@#% virginia!

Everything about this place is spectacular. The bar has a great beer selection. The seating is nice. Bar is clean. Outside courtyard is beautiful. The kitchen in the courtyard has food that is absolutely amazing. We had crawfish mac and cheese, lemon pepper wings and char grilled oysters. The mac and cheese was epic. The wings were perfect. Crispy on the outside, juicy meaty wings. If you want the best char grilled oysters ever, look no further. My only regret is I ordered half a dozen instead of 2 dozen. They were PERFECT.

My husband and I vacationed with our toddler. Many places do not allow anyone under 18 years of age. Because of this we would call ahead to make sure our kid would be allowed to come before making the journey over. The employee asked how old he was and we told him 19 months. He said that would be fine. When we go there one of the employees said we could not have a kid there as they previously got in trouble with the state troopers. When we told her we called (showing her) she replied that someone from the kitchen must of said that finishing with a sorry, cant allow it. It is beyond frustrating when you have your business together and the one who should doesnt. We ended up going to the French Market Restaurant a few businesses down. They were SO nice and accommodating and consistent with their answers.

Sat for an hour and a half waiting for 1/2 dozen oysters and finally told them just send us some chips and queso instead. There were only half a dozen people in the restaurant and when one of the other customers was complaining about not getting chargrilled oysters, the owner walked over and told the cook to reheat two dozen chargrilled that had been sitting on the bar for over an hour. The customer called them out and canceled their order. The manager and owner were clearly annoyed with the chargrilled cook but never jumped in to help.

This was a rest stop as part of a walking tour. The restrooms were pretty clean. Our tour guide mentioned they had fast to-go foods just for the tour groups, so I opted to try the jambalaya. If you are in the French Quarter please bypass the tourist trap and head to MRB!! Everything you think you need is here. My first time going was for a crawfish boil and Woodie throws down. I decided from there I would stalk their Instagram only to see they have an amazing selection of food dishes. So last night I went back and the food exceeded my expectations. I had the crab and shrimp egg rolls, butterflied shrimp, and crawfish mac and cheese. Everything was so delicious and the service was phenomenal! Brad is the sweetest and made sure we had a great experience. When I find Ms. Patty, Im going to give her huge hug because I know she had me in mind when she made that Mac and Cheese. To top it off, we were able to see a free Burlesque and Comedy Show in the courtyard. Now folks, this is all at a dive bar so of course there are beverages to complete this entire experience. Aside from a beer, I also tried their Watermelon and Cucumber Cocktail which is necessary in this NOLA heat. I wrote all of this to say.. go to Woodies MRB, you wont be disappointed.IG: @woodies_at_mrb@barcrawlnola

I relive the best parts of childhood every time I come here which is as often as possible. Ample TVs provide sports and popular shows for fans of all varieties.
