Such a great experience! My wife and took a 2 hour glassblowing class. Our instructor Zach was very patient, knowledgeable and seemed like a good dude in general. The staff was very helpful preparing us in what to expect from when my wife first call til after the class. Will go here again. Lots of classes in other media and of other lengths are available to.

Had a great time at a glass blowing class with Zach. He was very polite, knowledgeable, and professional guiding two complete rookies through the process. Fun unique experience.

We loved our private glassblowing class. It was a unique activity that had us experiencing something new and included the keepsake reminders of the glass prices we made during our fun visit. If you are looking for something out of the typical tourist realm, definitely give this a shot!

Although we did not get to participate in a hands on class, we did get to watch some artists at work. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been interaction between the artists and the onlookers, but maybe I was there at the wrong time. Still enjoyed browsing through all the beautiful glasswork.

My wife and I stopped in on Thursday looking to purchase an item we saw in the window the evening before (they had already closed). With money burning a hole in our pockets, we were completely ignored by all three working. After looking around for almost 10 minutes to give them time to wrap up their conversation, we left, never even acknowledged, even after one of them pushed past us to get to the desk.Maybe our casual dress made it look like we were a couple of bums walking into a Porsche dealership. They lost a significant sale.

My sister booked online and was called shortly afterwards to ask her if we could come in at 3:30 instead of 1:30. When we got there we were rudely told they didnt make 3:30 appointments and we were confused. They also said they called and if we would answer our phone it wouldnt have happens. My sister had no missed calls so they said we should call our phone company to find out what was wrong with her phone. My sister asked why they didnt try email since all but the one phone call was done on email. They replied that if she didnt answer her phone she would not answer her email either. My sister was furious and they also told her she might be charged because they would otherwise lose money. I left with my sister as we were appalled by the rudeness and when my sister was out the door with me close behind the clerk said answer your phone and you wouldnt have a problem. Rudeness to the very end. I was visiting from Tucson so never got the gkassblowing experience I was looking forward too.

I have NEVER encountered such rudeness or hatefulness from anyone such as the man and older lady at this establishment. I’m not sure how they stay in business. I will tell everyone that will listen not to go there.

We were in New Orleans for a few days doing all the touristy things when we walked by this shop and my 13 year old daughter begged to do the glass making 2 hour lesson. We signed up and did the class the next day. In 2 hours we got to make several pieces, and Zach was fabulous explaining to my daughter what we were doing and why and letting her do the work. It was so much fun, and we were able to make several pieces in the 2 hours that we were there, unique, hand-made Christmas gifts for the family! Because we were on vacation and couldnt bring everything back with us on the plane, they shipped us the items which came out great. All in all a really fantastic thing to do with my daughter and Id highly recommend Zach as an instructor!

Had a great time. Took the parents for an outing (Visiting from California) and they had so much fun! You get to keep what you made with an option to ship if your not local. Plus, the instructors are very informative and explain the whole process while showing you. This was something that you will remember and have as a memory for life.

I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism from this business. I was trying to plan a group event for my company and had walked by the store on Magazine and really liked their work. After visiting their site, I reached out for more information (what each event type consists of, size restricts for groups, average price per person, etc...). As the site instructs For more information, or to begin designing a bespoke event accommodating your team’s individual needs and interests, please contact our offices using our Contact Form. I filled out the form on their website with all of my information except the phone number, which I didnt feel comfortable giving out as I was only requesting more information and a brochure. Email communication seemed to be sufficient.I received an initial response with the supplemental information and then a follow up response, which is the reason for this review. I received a rude email scolding me and informing me about the proper way to fill out the form. Apparently, to provide more information, I was also suppose to guess and then provide information such as my company, an exact count of people, the date of the event. In my opinion, none of this information was relevant at this point because I still didnt know what each respective event consisted of or what the average price was per person. I responded informing them that the site didnt request the additional information and the type of details I was looking for. I also indicated that an individual had contacted me the day prior and provided me with some of the details. The second response I received from this individual was even ruder than the first - and signed with sarcasm, going so far as to wish me good luck with future inquiries when I provide misleading information. I dont believe this type of behavior and response to my request was warranted.Needless to say, this company (or at least those responsible for responding to online inquiries and working in the office) is completely unprofessional and rude. They wont be receiving money from me or being suggested as the the venue for future corporate team events. I have posted images of the email chain with my review, so everybody is aware of what they have to look forward to if they choose to deal with the office at New Orleans Glassworks.

Called to ask a simple question (a referral, really) regarding intaglio printing. The woman who answered the phone said Hello in the most brusque manner imaginable. I asked my question, and then after telling me they couldnt help, she said, Look, your call is coming in as a sales call in an angry tone. I was so shocked I just hung up. Unbelievable.

If you want to spend $175+ to be treated horribly by none other but the owners then by all means give this business your money. Glass blowing is not specific to New Orleans, so if you like to enjoy yourself when you pay for an experience then save yourself the hassle and do this at another business whose owners practice basic etiquette when interacting with other human beings.

Poor Communication. Poor Customer Service. We received a $125 gift card for our wedding to take a class. We called and set up a date to take a class. We lived out of town so we bought a hotel room to drive down to take this class. However, we called to confirm on our way down and they said they canceled our class. We could not make any of the other classes later (booked or no classes for 3 months before I left -military deploying). The gift card expired. My friends are out of $125. (the hotel let us cancel our reservation)

Geriod is awful! Shes one of the owners of this business. For months this woman has been harassing me at my job with meaningless phone inquires (i.e she didnt know how to read a newsletter so her solution was to call and berate me over the phone). When I try to reason with her, she yelled at me and hung up. She went as far as to write a letter of complaint, where she told multiply lies about me. She even calls from a private number so I will be forced to answer her calls. I have never met someone so mean-spirited. How can a person like this run a business with no accountability? How can someone have so little empathy for others?

The class was great and the instructor we had was patient with us and was very enthused to show us his skills and knowledge. It made for a pleasant afternoon. Im an only rating 3 stars because the front office personnel were short tempered with us over the phone when asking for information and the man working the desk was too interested in whatever was on his computer screen to even look us in the eye as he was assisting us. If you can get past the rudeness of the admin personnel then you will be in for a fun time in the back studio.

I only gave this place 3 stars because of the experience of creating the glass pieces. Our instructor was knowledgeable but more concerned about his pocketbook then creating a pleasureable experience. He was pushy and also made several negative comments about his Co workers. One comment including the phrase, he couldnt do that basic skill if he was given 100 Sundays.Overall the teacher was a very nice guy just was more concerned about making money then us.Also was give the rating because we paid a total of $240 and still had to pay for our pieces to shipped to us(we are 5 hours away). And that was NOT cheap.

Where to begin..... Making things was fun everything else was terrible. We paid $240 for a hands on experience with an artist, Kraig. What we got was 50% hands on 50% stage prop. We felt like just people on a stage being used as props when on-lookers would walk by. Our experience was not 1-on-1. It was like we were in a class room and got selected to help with a project and we were for other people to watch. The pieces we made ranged from fun and awesome to ugly and worthless. This was because we had very little control over what was actually happening. We were just an assistant to the artist, who was not great at doing what we paid to have taught to us, glass blowing. Also, the shop coordinator, Geriod, was very pushy and rude. It honestly felt like I was in a 1st grade classroom. People telling me what I couldnt do, people telling me no, like this! or sit up straight! or Take some pictures!. I will never go to this place again. I would also caution anyone on vacation looking to do something unique to pick, something else because the joy from this class was completely overshadowed by the experience as a whole. Also, you have to pay for your pieces that you create to be shipped to you, which is not part of the cost of the course and they say will cost $30-$40. Which is ludicrous for shipping costs.

You be the judge:Email from Geriod the hands on group studio coordinator to my event planner:We believe you should consider to have hands on at another facility. Your request for written evacuation and safety sheets when you are in our studio sends up a red flag that there might be a problem with your group. We suggest that you try a place where you can bring your group to paint by number. In the past 30 years we have hosted several hands on receptions with the _______ company who have always enjoyed the events they have booked with our studio. We think you should look for a studio event for your group where your supervisor would be more comfortable.Thank you for your interest,Geriodthe hands on group studio coordinator Im the supervisor, and Im not comfortable around somebody who would reply with such rudeness to a request for safety information.-Jon Gillett
