I visited the gallery and was greeted by Dee Dee Martin and was showed around the place and was told about different pieces of art and about the artist that created/painted them. Other guest came in and she respectfully greeted them and answered questions that they had about some of the art in the gallery. This is definitely a place I will return to and buy art from. I felt very welcome in the gallery and was offered a cup of coffee. It was a very pleasant experience. I recommend this gallery to anyone looking for art.

I have been to the gallery a handful of times, and thus far, each time has been a great treat! Welcoming, surrounded with beautiful art, a glass of wine always offered....but best of all: my friend for a lifetime, Dee herself. A recent review came to my attention, and it made me wonder exactly who this person could have been speaking about. Certainly not the Dee I know (since elementary school), who is always quick to make conversation with anyone. Always at the ready with a joke, usually at her own expense. This space, which is stunning, and any that she inhabits is always filled with laughter and compliments. Im not sure how your opinion may have been formed, but I feel that it is off base. Dee Dee Martin is absolutely not a racist, nor would she defend anyone with that type of behavior. She would open her home or gallery to anyone, as she is right now! She is an expert in her field and would never compromise her business or reputation (which is flawless by the way) by spewing hate or pushing an agenda. She hasnt gotten this far within the art world by making enemies. I encourage everyone to visit this gallery and take the time to visit with her yourself and form your own opinion, of what I already know to be an amazing person, mother and friend.

This gallery is a must-see when in New Orleans. The rooms are filled with wonderful works of art by both well known and local artists. I actually met up with the owner, Dee Dee Martin, who took the time to fill me in with historical information of each piece of interest. I found Dee to be a brilliant and gracious host. I made a purchase and found the perfect place in my home to display it. Overall, I would definitely tell my family and friends to go to the Dee Dee Martin Gallery when investing in fine works of art.

I have known Dee Dee for 30+ years. Upon entering her gallery it was as if we see each other every single day. Her knowledge of art work and the artists are incredible! She has years of experience with artists from around the world. She strives to learn every single thing she can about the artists when displaying their art work at her gallery. They become part of her family. During my visit as more guest arrived into her gallery she greeted each with respect and answered every question regarding the art work on display. It was a wonderful experience to see her in her element....she was glowing. Dee Dee loves and strives to be the best studio owner in NOLA. I highly recommend to both the locals and to the tourists a visit to her gallery located at 3426 Magazine Street. You wont be disappointed!!!

I have only been to the gallery one time and it was an awesome experience. Dee Dee was a pleasure to talk with and a very sweet person. There was plenty of food and drinks for the event all of which was delicious. She went out of her way to meet everyone who came in that day. I cant wait to bring my wife back to the gallery. This is a first class business and recommend you stop in and meet this wonderful lady and see what she has to offer for your art needs.

Although I just met Dee Dee I find her to be a very sweet and caring person. I love her shop. It has a friendly, homey atmosphere (and yes, she does offer you a glass of wine). I was there for a couple of hours and she greeted everyone that came in the door with kindness and respect no matter who they were. I will definitely go back!

Dee Dee has created a marvelous gallery that promotes numerous talented artists in a way that is inclusive and interesting to all that have the pleasure of visiting. Her attention to detail, excellent customer service and selection of art is only rivaled by her knowledge of the artists and the works they have created. Her passion makes me truly look forward to my next purchase and I highly recommend a visit to this exceptional gallery.

Dee Dee was wonderful, very accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure that myself and my husband purchased pieces we both LOVED. She was not pushy and did not pressure us to buy, only offered her opinion if we asked. She was extremely personable and is a person that you can see yourself forming a strong bond to, I would consider her a person of trust in the art world. I see a prior comments where someone is attacking Dee Dee personally and I dont believe that anyones personal beliefs should influence your decision to visit her galley. For the record I do not know or care what hers are. What I know to be fact is that is Dee Dee is friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about art which should be your only concern when visiting a gallery.

Like many others when going to Dee Dees Gallery I have had an amazing experience but I may be partial since shes my girlfriend. A girlfriend who doesnt just talk the talk about doing god things for people but actually DOES them. She is the most non-judgmental person I have EVER known in my life. She literally talks to everyone individually as if they are the most important person in the world. She helps me with my Special Olympics tennis students. Shes working on a project she and her friend Eno created called Writing the Wrong to help the healing process in New Orleans and teach and bring art and inspiration to the inner city black youth. This is a woman who picks up trash while walking down the street, brings her basket back no matter how far she has parked, gives her umbrella to a person with none, a home to someone who is struggling and an ear to those who need to be heard. The person who commented hat she is racists and picks fights has NEVER met Dee Dee.That is a fact, not because its obvious, but because she has never met her. I feel bad for this person.Sorry I had to have my say...

I have know Dee Dee Martin for many years and when I moved I need someone trustworthy and experienced to help guide me in the selection and location of art , not just buying and placing. She has vast amounts of both and the patience to see a project through . You will be as delighted by the outcome and professionalism in your experience as I have been over the years . Cheers to you Dee Dee Martin & your namesake Gallery all the best...

Art itself is wonderful but the artists should really take into consideration Dee Dee herself. Very outspoken against many current pushes for social justice. Uses her clout as gallery owner to push her hateful views. She mocked the womens march in Washington DC. She defends racism as a white woman in the south. She is currently defending the numerous amounts of racist defending monuments to racism. She often picks fights with people who come to check out her gallery then speak their mind when they find out who she really is. I implore you to do some research on the kind of person she stands up to be. Ive visited the gallery twice and both time Ive been appalled at the stuff she has said and done. Do your research. Dont support hateful people like this. She makes claims her business is totally separate from her personal views but that is impossible. Her gallery supports her therefore it supports her views. She also uses her gallery as a talking point to further hateful discussion. All we can do is let it be known. If anyone wants any screen shots of whats she has said message me.

Theres is a review posted on here from someone with the name Kaeziah Bladey that is completely off topic, whom I have NEVER met, who, to my knowledge has never stepped foot in my gallery and who does not know me in any way shape or form. I am the furthest thing from a racists, homophobe, islamaphobe or anti anything. Anyone is welcome to view my posts and requests screenshots. For the record, I Am currently working on a project with a partner in a project we created entitled Writing the Wrongs to help heal the city of New Orleans. We will be working with the inner city black youth to bring them art, inspiration and hope.As far as the womens march, no I did NOT participate and do not feel like I have been treated unfairly by anyone in my professional life, including men, so I had no reason to be part of that march. Thats my business and I have a right to feel that way.I am 100% open to anyone who is a decent person, respects themselves and others. This is the absolute most absurd thing I have ever read. It is unfortunate that a person who doesnt know me, apparently read a comment on a personal site and views my honesty, fairness and genuine love for all others across the board as anything but authentic. To clarify, I have NEVER had a conversation with the person who posted this comment, nor have I ever met her. The comment that I have picked a fight in my gallery is so absurd that its too silly to address.I believe this is a very angry person who doesnt like people who are centered in their lives and their political views. No, I do not lean left but I am not right either. I am centered and I am comfortable with that and proud of it. It is obvious this person doesnt know me or my very diverse circle of friends. This comment has been reported for several reasons and will be removed. Please ignore it and come in the gallery and see for yourself.
