We paid for four of us to participate so cost $80 for us to each pull a handle down to print a prepared flyer (no choice of color, or design!) I obviously misread what we would get to do but even as I go back and read it - it is not completely clear. NOT at all interactive poster making- my boys were excited at the thought of designing a small poster but Disappointing!! I guess I thought it would be more hands on. To be fair the tour was interesting and seeing some posters from of old was fun.

A fun place to get some more history while you visit the hall of fame. They give a great history and examples of the different posters they printed over the year and you have an opportunity to make your print as a souvenir! Its crazy this place has been using the same process for 140 years.

I have been to both the new and long-standing old locations and many friends and associates have worked at or interned with Hatch Show Print. Its a working slice of history and the method of production and the look of the poster imagery is quite unique. The printers working for hatch are often highly specialized artists that use printing techniques in their own art form. If you have an opportunity to tour the operation and see more of how things are done, I highly recommend it.

Very cool store inside the museum with open windows to see inside the shop. A neat way to demystify and see printing done by hand. Bought some prints to go even! Highly recommend.

Unique tour. Get to learn about the history, process and famous posters created by the Hatch Print company. First half of the tour is in the printing room, second half is in a classroom/work room. You do get to complete a print to take home (the print is nothing special, but still a cool experience).You get a 10% discount at the shop after your tour (dont forget to ask for the discount).

Fantastic place to visit. We took the Print Shop Tour, and our Education Team leaders were awesome. We learned all about the history of the Hatch Show Print and how it ties into the most famous Nashvillian destinations like the Ryman and Grand Ole Opry. I highly recommend the tour! Well worth the ticket price.

Had NO idea the rich history of Hatch and the parts in history that it played with so many facets of life. This is a real, living, working piece of history that still plays a vital role in the print communications world! Very much worth the visit and tour!

Very cool if you are into old school printing!

We visited TN from FL and this was the only event I chose to book in advance. We bought tickets to the Block Party (which lands on the first Saturday of each month during the art crawl). This was really one of the highlights of my trip. We had a little mini history lesson (I couldve sat and listened even longer if they let me) before getting to it. The options felt endless, however, we would have really benefited by extending the time at LEAST one more hour. I went home with a couple incomplete projects, but it was still such a fun experience. My husband enjoyed it greatly, as well, and we have since framed our prints. Ive told everyone about the prints and the history behind the Hatch Show. I do wish we got a tour with our tickets, even as a voucher to use the following day, as I assumed Id get to see the old equipment but didnt get to (so make sure to purchase them separately if you want to see that). However, this doesnt take away from the experience as its own entity. Id even consider paying for smaller group or personal sessions to get to use some type blocks. Thanks for the memory, guys!

One of the highlights of my trip to Nashville! A well respected print shop with lots of history and A list clients. Their designs are works of art! The tour was very well done and worth the time!

This was a lot of fun! This is the oldest print shop and it still turns out posters for the Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman and others! Just add it to your list of things to do in Nashville as you will find it fascinating. As part of the tour we got to make our own poster with the specific background they selected which changes each year. Had the rare and special opportunity to attend the hatch show print block party where we learned about printing and had the opportunity to make our own posters, t-shirts, totes and tea towels. We very much enjoyed this experience and the knowledge of all the staff. They were also kind enough to bring out a block that hadnt been used yet when I said I wished they had skulls and it made my day! 100% recommend this amazing experience!!

Check it out. Learn about the history of the place and their process. Appreciate their art and the craftsmanship. It’s worth grabbing a poster or card or two.

Somewhere down the line Debbie Maddox is directly related to Santa Claus and/or Mr Chick-Fil-A himself Bc her customer service skills go above and beyond anything expected or deserved. As historic and unique as Hatch Show Print is, the people that work there are even more so a part of what makes it genuine. The gallery space was really great and the gift shop was too much fun - you can get really unique prints for not a lot of money.

Really cool spot to see especially after visiting the Ryman Auditorium (think Grand Ole Opry) and seeing all of their signed prints there for seemingly every big artist from the past 60 years imaginable. Really cool view of how they make the prints, which they have kept the same authentic method. Great spot for a unique souvenir.

One of my favorite places to take friends and family from out of town. They have an awesome history, do tours, and have some neat designs. It’s a little pricey but that’s to be expected. The toughest part is that it’s downtown so you have to time it right in order to avoid large crowds and difficult parking.

Andy was incredibly knowledgeable about the machines and he explained the process of printing very well. Matt had a great presentation of the history of the Hatch Show Print shop. You get a souvenir and you get 10% off at the gift shop if you take the tour. Awesome.

If youre visiting Nashville and near the hall of fame, check this place out! Its a nice break from all of the boot shops, has daily tours, and cheap prints that look amazing! Theres a corner with prints that are 3 for $10, which is where we got all of ours from.

I did not pay to go in, however watching from outside was interesting and they have loads of cool prints and books. Definitely worth checking out!

The tour was a lot of fun and gives you a good history of the art of poster printing. The artwork everywhere is amazing, and you even get to take a bit home with you that you print yourself.

Worth the addition on your visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame. The print shop itself has moved a few times since it began production. It’s still a working print shop located in the corridor between the Hall of Fame and the Omni Hotel next door. The tour is only an hour and they pack a lot into it. You will leave with a print you got to ink and press yourself. It’s a fun, hands-on tour with interesting slices of history.

Im a printer and I love music so when I was googling stuff to do in Nashville, Hatch Show Print was literally at the top of my list. If you remember the old letter press concert posters from the last half of the 20th century, youll be familiar with their work. Hatch Show Print practically invented the genre. It was extremely fascinating to me to see that intersection of graphic arts, music, and advertising. It was even more interesting to see how Hatch Show Print is staying relevant in this century. I took the wife and kids thinking theyd have to suffer through it for dear old Dad but they all enjoyed it, especially the hands-on portion of the tour. I would highly, highly recommend the tour to anyone. Its a Nashville original.

Paid $80+ dollars for my family to listen to someone talk about how many different buildings they were in before they got to current location. Pointed at all the presses they have but never showed us one running. You could have just walked up to the large window outside the store to see that. Took you to another room for another history lesson. Thought my kids were going to make a poster. NOPE. They hand you a premade poster of their logo and you get to roll on the ink. Took about 2 minutes. All together, 1 hour story and a piece of advertisement to take home. Find something else to do.

Hatch Show Print is located in a very beautiful building and is well maintained by the staff and employees of it! The tour we chose was $18/person and it included a history of the print shop, a demonstration, and you get to make your own print! Very worth the time and money to check out in Nashville if you’re an artsy or history type of person. Staff was pleasant and professional as well.

This is a wonderful place to visit and purchase beautiful posters! I loved the guides and the machines and techniques used in the process! It’s a great place with great history.

The tour was cool but very long. And I thought the experience after was disappointing. The website made it sound like we would get to create our own poster by scratch. But they already have a poster made and all you get to do it’s roll a pre-made text on to the paper.

I recommend the nickle tour.

I called from another state to order already printed posters for a fundraiser. The girls who were working were kind enough to sift through the piles of posters to find 24 different prints. They called me back to make sure they would get mailed out the next day. They were friendly and accommodating.

Neat place. Got to talk with Kathy and she showed us the process of letter press. Really cool location. There isnt exactly any room to do this, but I kept wishing they had tours of the space behind the counter. This historical location—the shelves of hardware, especially—reminded me of Ollivanders from Harry Potter. (Edit: Apparently there are tours. Had no idea...)

One of my favorite places in Nashville. I miss the old location, but the new one is also amazing, you can watch them work and see the kitties behind the glass. There poster work is some of the best in the world. I love collecting Hatch posters.

One of the best tours we took doing our vacation!

This is review of the Haley Gallery section of the store, not the print shop itself. Wish I could give a zero. Staff was extremely curt and unhelpful, and certainly changed my mind about wanting to make a purchase. Though I give them credit: It takes quite a bit of talent to change a customers mind 180 degrees. Definitely the low point of my trip, and the experience soured my opinion of Nashville.

The art is super cool. But....in hindsight, I wouldnt pay the money for tour again. It was a lot of standing and listening. I was also a bit disappointed in the number of reproductions available for sale. But still a neat piece of Nashville history.

Super disappointed to see this place has been super-commercialized. Finally made it to Nashville and wanted to see the legendary Hatch Show Print and found what was basically a bookstore in a mall.

We took the tour and had a blast. Very informative. This is a great thing to do while downtown.

One of my favorite parts of Nashville was the Hatch Show. Any design/music/history buffs will love this place. Definitely do the tour, you will get a closer look at all the printing and youll get to print your own poster.

Must see stop for anyone into design, printmaking, illustration, etc... Fascinating tour with hands on experience at the end. It even kept our teenager engaged.

The shop is in every guide and I expected something emblematic.I was kind of disappointed not by the shop but by the style of the prints, just not my type. I did not go for the guided tour but it seemed quite interesting. I still think its a good stop if youre around the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Hatch Print is keeping the craft of letterpress printing alive. Their arent too many Miehle presses still running. My V-50 still isnt obsolete and keeps on making money.

A Nashville staple. Its where they make all of the event and music posters... and have for years. You can tour the printing facility, or just look thru the posters they have for same (relatively cheap). Fun to look thru!

Place is cool and historic, but they should really consider offering to frame the prints you buy for an extra cost. Theyre odd shapes, so its difficult and expensive to frame them yourself.

Strongly recommended taking the tour - you create your own print to keep at the end and you get a deeper understanding of the history of Hatch, poster printing, and music!

Relocated from its original location, but still a good tour and a great insiders look at a legendary and still busy print shop.

Hatch does all of the posters for the Ryman Auditorium, offers tours, and custom print at a reasonable cost. A Nashville must for art and music fans.
