Surprisingly tidy inside and out. It isnt in the best area but they strictly enforce their rules for safety and keep an eye on who comes in and out as well as where they are going in the building and when. Its a bit small but Ball is life so here I am haaa

This park has so much more history than what has been pictured here. Its so much more than a park..it was my home.I lived on 1404 4th avenue North from my home I could literally look down the street and see if my friends would be playing basketball. Played little league baseball across at ball field. Learned how to swim at the pool that was there by a gentleman we called Qball, he was also my baseball coach and football coach. We would line up at the recreation center during the summer for free box lunch meals, a lot of us then came from poor families and these meals was always nice. Pick up games of basketball you could always get in a round or two. My fondest memory during that time frame was a performance from Mr. Charlie Pryde sitting on a bench at the park with his guitar, my brother and getting a impromptu concert as he practiced his songs to perform on the show at the Grand Ole Opry, he did not mind us sitting on the grass listening so intently to him playing as if we were his biggest fan, for us it was strange us being black watching a black man sing country music........it was beautiful.Morgan Park is historic, beautiful and for me a safe haven for I can from an abusive situation. I hope whoever reads this and remembers this park as I have ..back then ..you may know me.Love this park as I did.
