We camp a lot throughout Michigan over the last 10 years, but came upon this campground on a short notice, 2 weeks in advance, with opening. Now we know why it still had openings in a short notice. It was the worst place weve ever stayed anywhere. First off, the 30Amp hook up site we were assigned for our camper wasnt really a 30A power station. We could not use any other appliances with AC, it would trip the breaker. We brought it up to the owner, they didnt do much but offer to move us, but insisted that it was correct voltage. And was told possibly my AC unit was broken, that I needed a repair man, who they had a name to refer to. The next day, the whole campground was without water. Keep in mind that this is during COVID awareness and high 80s degrees weather outside, cant even wash your hands or bathe? After 24 hrs without water we packed up and left for another campground near by. Everything worked in the camper as it should, no issue with my AC unit.DO NOT waste your money or time here. Go elsewhere.

This campground and these people have been amazing! I remembered them from my childhood and decided to bring my family for the summer too. We had a blast! We had a family emergency with our daughter and they called several times to check on the family and make sure she was alright, even though they had no obligation. This is a family run business that treats you the as one if you let them. Joan and Pam keep a tight ship and make sure everyone is safe and happy and Grandpa Ron is a joy to have, my kids absolutely love him!I love that they have the animals and our family dog was welcome to come with us for no extra charge. Always smiling and making sure we were doing well, I will make sure this is a place we continue to come back to again and again.Keep up the good work! I will make sure to recommend them to everyone! Thank you for the amazing memories!

Our stay was pretty good. Check-in was a little confusing and we ended up paying a little extra because of that. Our neighbor was really unpleasant and yelled at a kid that got too close to his campsite. The lake was only a 5 minute walk from most of the campground. There was also a nice man that said we were beautiful as we left.

We decided on this campground because my wife and kids, my sister and her kids, and my parents all wanted to camp together, and my parents live in muskegon. We liked the fact that the lake was right across the street from our sites, as well as we were able to get our sites really close to each other, even though they had a tent and us a camper. Most places have tent sites in a certain place, as we as campers in a different place. It looked like every site had water and electricity, which was nice. If youre the type that would rather hang around the campsite(not going across to the lake) and have kids, youre not going to have a good time lol. The kids wanted to spend their entire time over across the street, either swimming or fishing. The couple of gripes I do have is for one, the layout of the sites. Or at least the one that we were in with our camper. Its hard to explain but It was at the very end of the road and were the camper had to go made it very difficult to turn around, especially because there was a big hill in the way. Once we were able to get it in the right spot, the water and electric were on the opposite side of where they are supposed to be. The other thing that I thought was either a poor design or maybe something that was thought of/added after the fact was the dump station for campers. Its up by the office but it doesnt have anyone of driving up to it so its on the same side as the tank outlets. So you have to back up to it after you turn your rig around, which is a good 100-150 feet, which can be pretty dicey. Other than those two things, we had a really good time. There wasnt a bunch of loud/drunk or obnoxious people there during the day, or at night, which is always a good thing lol.

This camp ground doesnt have full hook up. And its not kept up well at all. Bathrooms are not clean. And they dont have hand soap and paper towels to wash your hands. And my husband said that the mens bathroom didnt have toilet paper. He asked the woman in the office and she said she quit putting it in there. Claiming that its getting stolen. And the grounds need to be treated for bugs.

Nice people and campground. Lots are spacious, and priced well. We had a lake site (more like a large pond), and the fishing was great! Sunfish, catfish, and bass, no problem. We did catch and release, but wanted to keep the bass. We will be back, perhaps for an extended stay!

The location was nice. It was easy to take kids swimming and fishing. One of the owners, an older guy, was very helpful and friendly. They charge too much for visitors, so my own kids couldnt come chat. That made it feel like some state-run halfway house for criminals. Their port-a-potties and showers desperately need cleaning.

My fiance and I went to this campground to find out about there monthly rates. The 2 women at the counter seemed nice until we told them that we had a teenage daughter that would be staying with us. They state on there website that anyone 15 and older have to pay an extra $8.50 per day. The desk clerk asked about our daughters age and we told her 14 and they said that she was considered an adult. Then they told us we were better off to try a different campground. The way she treated us was as if they didnt want us in there campground to begin with. This place is not family friendly. There were cats and dogs roaming the campground and cleanliness is definitely not there top priority. I would never recommend this campground to anyone.

Where do I begin? This place was son incredibly unkept. When you drive in... you have NO idea what is what! It’s like a junkyard. Broken/ bashed up can with flat tires in the lot, the “office” was this cluttery shack and just very unprofessional. The ladies were nice.... but the grounds were awful. The lake they have is an over grown swampy, mosquito infested pond. The playground equipment was so old and dirty and not to mention flooded out. The bathrooms had no paper towel or dryer for hands. The whole place was extremely dated. Out power never stayed in and I had to plug into our nice camping neighbor.Honestly.... my camping neighbors were the best. So glad they were next to us.This place is so hokey. Just unbelievable. I couldn’t wait to leave. We will never go back.

We just finished our camping trip at Wolf Lake and had a great time. The sites are generously large, and ours backed right up to the lake. The grounds were clean, and well maintained. This is definitely a campground, not an RV resort. Dont expect paved drives and pads to park on, because you wont find them here. What you will find is the sights and sounds of nature, mature trees, a beautiful clear water lake, all the things you expect to hear about in a pure Michigan commercial. The camp is across the street from a public beach on wolf lake, and a short drive to the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. The camp is also close to Michigans Adventure amusement park. On our last day there we met Ron, the owner. He heard some squeaking coming from my trailer hitch and came over to ask me if he could lubricate it for me. We ended up talking for a while, and I can say he is a genuinely nice man. We are already planning our next trip to Wolf Lake, and will gladly recommend it to anyone.

I am the great grandson of the campground owners of this camp I have been going here my hole life every day and every year it improves with are play grounds , connection stand , we even now have another thing to transport people around the camp to look at what camp sites they want. We also painted the play grounds new colors to brighten it up when the little and older kids play on them there toys like a petal powered tractor a petal powered go cart for kids 8+ theres a move able teeter totter for the little kids. There is another teeter totter for big kids / grown ups. We also are working harder to recycle. So please when you come to Wolf Lake Camp Ground do try to sort out the stuff that you think would be able to be recycled. We also warn you if there is going to be any major major storms coming. The lake is very fun if you like water there is awesome colorful bugs that land on are lily pads. Some times you can see them if you go ck-yakking can some theres turtles , gees , ducks , frogs at are frog pond , and even toads including other animals that you can find when you come here but only if you do. Every year at are lake that I here the campers catch a 3 to 5 foot fish the average size is about 1 to 2 feet long or the size of you hand hope you come the sun is always shining here and the flowers are always blooming. We love to make are campers happy also come check out are bathroom they 100x better than they were and that is a thing I can promise you see you here enjoy you day Bye. I will be UPDATING MORE SOON!! Wee also have animals to look at and feed but we do not have stuff for you to feed them but sometime we bring stuff you can. The campsites come with firer pit and picnic table.

We go camping often and this campground is very high up on our list of great places. We stayed here for a weekend while we visited Michigans adventure. The campground stayed open until after 10pm to wait for us to check in. They were so helpful with answering all our questions and giving directions. The showers are so warm. Kids have several different play areas to play in. The swimming area is close by. Our campsite was perfect location too! Campsite included a picnic table and a fire ring. They sell everything from ice to firewood. The staff is very fast and friendly. The campsites are generously sized and the trees give a nice covering. We will visit this campground again!

From the first interaction with the lady in the office, we knew this was a great campground. The staff were all very polite and answered any questions we had. Also had firewood and ice for sale at the office which was very convenient! Also, they prefer you pay in cash instead of card because they have high fees on card payments because the machines to process the payments are expensive. Bathrooms are a bit run down but clean and hot showers! Plus youre going camping not staying at a 5 star hotel. Plus decent pricing and Close to Michigans adventure (which we visited) and Nice view of the lake! We did leave 1 day early because it started storming and water was running under our tent and started sleeping through but thats nother nature and Comes with the territory of camping. Overall loved my time there and will be back again if ever in the area!

Stayed for a weekend because nothing else was available. Horrible experience from the first phone call. Poor staffing, unclean faculties, and felt unsafe the duration of my stay. Broken playground equipment. Outhouses for bathrooms. Site was full of litter including glass. Lake they are advertising looked like a stale lagoon. Dump site was a tiny space you have to back into up a steep hill. Pretty sure there was a drug deal going on in the camper next to me. The landscape was the owners personal landfill of old cars and buildings. Not a safe or clean place for a family.

I should have known from the first communication to find somewhere else, but when you are a month from Labor Day in Michigan and you find someplace with two spots next to each other you jump on it. From the very first call the lady on the phone was rude. She informed me that having my child with me would increase the price by $8 because she was 15 and when I questioned her about it she was very rude. It was my husband and I and our daughter but because she is over 15 we paid $8 extra per day. Meanwhile, my camping mates who had two children with them, one over 15 were not asked the ages of their children and did not pay the additional. I guess it was just our lucky day. When we got to the site, which required us to leave the entrance and go down another road it was a nice large lot. The lake behind us however was a swamp which meant the mosquitoes were fierce and plentiful. Our lot came complete with a lot of trash including a dirty swimmie diaper left on the lot. The bathroom/shower facilities were up the hill from us, there was a walkway that was washed out and eroded and steep. There should be stairs or something to it but there isnt. The bathrooms were old but clean, however no soap or blower/towels to wash and dry your hands. Next to the bathrooms there was a block of rooms for rent that were just sketchy to me. The main campground was ok with the exception of the literal junkyard on the premises. There were some party people on the campground and their music was super loud, I never saw anyone walk around to ensure peace and tranquility could be had. And lastly, and this is minor but still an annoyance, they put a sticker on our windshield, a sticker that has left glue behind for us to scrub off. Its hard to explain but we left there bit up because of the swamp bugs and feeling dirty, so much so that we left a day early. I cannot recommend this park even though there is potential here if the owners put some work into it.

The bathrooms are far walk from the sites and uphill (depending on your site location). All sites are on deep sandy dirt with NO grass.Overall this campground hasnt been maintained there are junk piles of work equipment and trash by the buildings. I would not recommend any family to go here. It would be fine for adults only. If the owners would take time to maintain the property and clean up the place it could be a lot more.

This is rustic camping surrounded by lake homes, with some rental bedrooms (which attracted some low income visitors). The women’s bathroom was normal for a rustic campground as far as cleanliness, but the men’s were disgusting (according to my husband/son). We camped on site D11 which is beautiful, plenty of shade and space for a large tent, however at night there was a beeping sound every 8 seconds that disturbed our relaxing camping. They said it was a fence!? There were a couple of dogs with no leashes running around (with owner), which made me uncomfortable. The local neighbors partied with loud music until 2am, then a fight broke out at another campsite. We left early, very unhappy!

There is WiFi, but only in or nearby the office building. The area next to the office building is not well maintained. The pond on the campground looks really bad. There are too few directions signs, actually none at the Wisconsin Hwy next to the campground. The showers are hot, or warm, but you cannot choose the temperature. The taps in the restrooms have springs in them, so that you need one hand to keep the water flowing. This makes proper hand-washing impossible and is not sanitary. The campground is too expensive for the service.
