The staff created such an excellent time and were all very friendly. It really makes you feel the classic movie theater experience. The chairs are comfortable however they are not recliners. Great experience!

EDIT: I’m leaving my original review, but need to post an update and add a star. This place has come a long way since I wrote my original review. All the marquees are working, new drink machines in the lobby, and still the price is 6$. It’s obvious ownership is making a concerted effort to improve the environment, while also keeping it affordable. So kudos to management. Hopefully the improvements keep coming.Original: You get what you pay for here, which is a good thing because you’re only paying 6$. That’s a great deal any where you go, and in most ways it’s more than worth the price of admission. Sure, the the digital marquees don’t work so you have to identify your theater from a printed word document, and you have to buy your ticket from the concession stand which might congest things a bit, but for 6$ you get a good, clean movie going experience. And I’ll add these issues seem temporary.Because of the great price, it’s almost worth giving four or five stars, but the major issue holding this theater back is the audio. It seems like the last 5 movies I’ve been to here have been way too quiet. And honestly that’s a real killer. Good, booming audio is the maybe most essential part of the theater experience next to the giant screen, and it’s been absent on way too many of my experiences here.Most issues can be forgiven here because of the cost, but honestly the low audio has me wishing I could pay more for a better experience. Hope this is something that is recognized and remedied, because it’s a great theater beyond that.

First time that we have a cinema as near as 6 minutes from home, is a nice place great sound , comfortable seats, the food can be better but for what you pay is a nice experience if you live nearby and dont want to drive 20 minutes or more on the highway for the next theater and paying more.

This was my first visit to Metro Movies 12. I was quite impressed with the services, cleanliness and the 12 theaters. I drove down from Avon but it was worth the trip

The price is right, $6.00 all the time. Clean and people who work there are very nice. My only complaint is the price of refreshments. But every theater charges a lot.

Great place for a simple movie. $6 movies everyday. They have nice seats but no recliners so they dont try to charge you $30 per ticket. Solid concession options and lots of places to eat dinner in the same area!

Located near Rt 2 in Middletown, conviently located just of the highway. Movies on Sundays are just $6.00 and they have 12 cinemas. Near plenty of restaurants in the downtown area with comfy seats. Go there with my girlfriend once or twice a month.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. It used to be a great little cinema. They have tried, very unsuccessfully to modernize. We arrived 15 minutes before showtime on a Tuesday morning and waited 20 minutes to get to the ticket window. The new system they have was broken down. You purchase tickets and concessions from the same person. She told me to move to the right to get a popcorn where the gentleman who was getting it said he wasnt even an employee, but was there working on the computers. Really? That made sense because 20 minutes before the show ended in the theater, the lights came on. Guess the tech person who isnt an employee was busy getting someone stale chewy popcorn. DO NOT GO HERE!! There are other cinemas not too far away. Oh. We also missed the first 10 minutes of the movie.

I love this theater! Ita got such an awesome 80s (?) look to it inside. $6 tickets all day, every day, for everyone! New reclining seats! The concession stand is amazing! Great combos! Youll love a visit to this theater! Thanks, Metro staff!

The worst movie theater I’ve been. First the lady in the register seem to not know what planet she was on. We were talking her about it was our sons birthday and with a straight face she just said “uh-hu”. Then the only way to know which theater to go was by reading out of piece of paper that was taped on the door. It felt small and really outdated. The seats were somewhat comfortable but didn’t fully reclined and the sticker with its number was just glued to the seats. But the worst part that made me decide to never go back there was, a family of 6 or 7 people, 3 which were under 4 years old. The kids never were courteous of keeping silence. The movie we went to see was The Lion King and if you have kids, you know that at that age, if the movie doesn’t have animation in vivid color, kids that age tend to get bored and when kids get bored, either the play with toys are just start talking. If you try to silence a talking toddler without toys are food, there’s a chance they’re just going to have a tantrum. Exactly what happened, while 2 toddlers were just talking away the baby, which I think wasn’t more than 2 years old, started screaming crying. Worst movie theater experience ever. Never will I go to this place nor will take anyone here. I don’t recommend this movie theater.

Ill never go again. They let peaceful patrons suffer while letting entitled kids behave badly inside the theater. When notified of the problem management does virtually nothing about it.

Great Experience! Theatre is Spacious, Though The Seats Dont Recline, They are Supportive and have Cup Holders. Concession is Affordable and Plentiful, Combo I Chose was Refillable and They Even Threw In Candy.. Had an Issue with a Gift Card; Management was Very Courteous, Professional, and Actually Cares for its Patrons! Definately Recommend & Return. Other Theatres are Closer and More Modern, Prefer This Establishment when in the area.

Super inexpensive compared to other theaters (six bucks for a recliner seats for a 2:30 Saturday movie). Recliners are manual (have to push back) and dont go back quite as far as the other electric theater ones, but still comfy. Looks dumpy from outside, but wasnt too bad inside. Theater was clean.

This is a good theatre. Every Tuesday is 5.00 all day and night. They have a variety of theatres for the popular new movies.

This movie theater sucks. I used to go here in high school, but have started going to the theater in Wallingford. I saw they had new seats and wanted to give them a try. That was a bad decision. The seats don’t recline (as the picture leads you to believe - only the first row reclines somewhat), are hard and uncomfortable, are not plus size friendly, and are so close to the row in front of you that your knees touch it, even as someone short. The floor is sticky like it hasn’t been cleaned in days. Ticket prices are ridiculous given what you get, and sound quality is awful. The staff is nice enough but obviously there isn’t enough time to properly clean in between showings. Will not be going again.

It is confusing, tickets are not purchased when you first walk in. Tickets were available at the concession counter. Many of the digital signs used to tell you what was in each theatre were out of service. The chairs appear very comfortable, but really are not that nice. The temperature inside the theatre kept getting cold. The a/c unit was loud. The picture was very clear and the audio was clear.

$6 a movie, seats are comfortable and assigned at purchase. Not a bad deal.

The people who work at this theater are so friendly, helpful and great! However, WARNING!! Do NOT meet friends and go out to dinner before the movie because if you all go in one car, the others will be towed!! You will be paying $150.00!! The owner of the parking lot doesnt like the people who are going to court to park in his parking lot so he has security to tow any car that is left with the driver leaving the lot. I feel bad for all the businesses in this square as I know I will meet friends at the Berlin or Colchester Cinemas from now on so we dont have to worry about getting towed if we meet and go to dinner before or after a movie. Or maybe you are meeting and decide to go for drink down the street before going to dinner in the square - you will be towed. Way to attract business!!

Is there honestly a way to give this place 0 stars? the owners suck, they treat the managers and employees like they’re disposable, even the loyal ones. not a good business at all. don’t go here, they only care about how fat ya wallet is :/

Comfortable seating. Digital projectors deliver a bright and crisp image. The sound quality is good, but can be too loud sometimes. The various theaters have different size screens, so you never know which one your going to get. The parking lot can get pretty crowded during popular movie times because there are a couple of restaurants in the same plaza. The staff is generally friendly, but there arent many of them, so you may have to look around if you need one of them.

Had the place to ourselves at a late showing of Goldfinch..which was awesome..this place deserves more business though, not many other options if it goes under.

Better than I expected. Brand new seats are super comfy. Plenty of staff around Saturday night and while the building is old everything was very clean. Love that you get to add your own butter and salt. The screen is a little on the small side.

You guys need security in the theater! Ive been here multiple times giving chance after chance and it never fails to amaze me how many people are able to sneak in. At one point during the IT Chapter 2 movie, someone threw a water bottle and it hit someones wife in the head. A little advice is to get some security because even when employees came in to verify the persons ticket, they didnt have a ticket and they were sitting in someone elses assigned seat, that person didnt get kicked out and stayed. At least call the police to have them escorted. Ruined the whole movie to the point where I left early and I wish I could get my money back because of the terrible experience.

Just saw Avengers End Game at Metro Movies. Your seat is really close to the one in front of you. Im 6 foot and I just could not get comfortable. I had to keep my legs crossed tightly the whole movie. When I left the theater my leg felt broken and I walked out with a lump because of a cramp. Also the screen was awfully small. It was adequate to watch a movie but when Im paying good money Id expect better. I should have waited to watch it in a good theater.

Been going to this theater for a while. Not as spacious as other high end theaters but still offers good service and prices. Would recommend to others, if only to indulge their curiosity.

Bad rain day. Ceiling was leaking into 33 gallon garbage cans sitting on several seats after the ceiling tiles let loose. Otherwise, movie was good.

Manager was very rude and had a big attitude. The popcorn was stale and too expensive for the quality.

I went last weekend and got sick 10 minutes after the movie started, and had to leave. The staff was so helpful, and the manager, Graham was so kind. He gave us rainchecks to come back! How nice to be treated like a human being during a very unpleasant time.

Prices for concession has gotten better. More affordable. And the fact that the first movie shown of the day is super cheap and Tuesdays are bargain days is even better.

A decent theater with a nice rewards club. Seats are comfortable and the crew seems to keep the place clean. The down side is that all but one or two screens are very small, and this is definitely one of those theaters that doesnt calibrate their digital systems as often as they should. I have to say that I usually end up at the bargain price shows, so some of these issues may not happen during prime-time, but many times Ive been to this theater when there has been a tech issue, sound or related to image focus, screen projection. Sometimes they have been able to correct it, sometimes not. But they were always good about refunds if they couldnt address the issue.

Went to see hustler, ordered tix online and seating is reserved. Was forced to purchase front row due to a sold out theater. Come to find out, by the middle of the movie... All the stadium style seats were empty and I couldve sat back there.

The place is clean, the screens are nice, but bad lighting, uncomfortable seats, unfriendly workers, small list of food choices, and not fresh popcorn make for a less than stellar experience.

Prices are sensational, staff super friendly.....When I am up in CT for the weekends, holidays, vacations I never miss an opportunity to see a movie here....

Well done space which feels new. Lovely sized screening rooms. Vibrant sound & excellent digital quality. Comfortable seating. Bathrooms are immaculate. I dont buy snacks so I cant comment on the foodstuffs. Even Dinglewood Drive has finally been repaved. I hope nothing changes as Im quite pleased. Especially with holiday prices. Happy New Year..

Beautiful, comfortable seating with morning prices that are quite reasonable. Popcorn and soda a bit pricey but the theaters are clean & the sound is great. Altogether I would recommend it as a good time. Prices probably represent a lack of customers as they dont make their margin on volume.

Like watching movies there ample space for car park. Few restraunts nearby to dine after a movie on a lazy weekend. The theatre is fine nothing too good or bad about it. Never found it too crowded so never booked online just go there get the tickets n watch the movie with popcorn or snacks of choice.

Changed managers recently.Outdated theater, and no offense to mom n pop spots; but metro appears to be a bootleg one with up to date seats.Ceiling leaks.My suggestion is to run to berlin theater which isnt much further, depending on your location.
