Ok so heres my review, I would have given 5 stars but gotta say at the price of 150 per player i would expect a practice facility, a club house that isnt a modified trailer and staff that just met the ok mark.I would pay 150 all day long for how great the course was maintained. From tee to green it was awesome. I live in florida and have played at some really high end tracks for less money and they have it all.Pass of play was fine till we hit the back 9, staff didnt do anything to get things moving other than send a message to the carts, they say, they stick to a strick 4 hours and 20 minute round but we never saw a ranger manageing slow play.So my conclusion is, if you want to pay 150 for just the golf course condition then this is your place and I will for sure pay it again.

Great golf course in great shape. Play was a little slow, but the staff was super nice and course was in great shape. This was the first true rectangle shaped green I had ever seen so thought I would share.

Wow. Course was in incredible shape. Small details like the mulch around plants, the trimming of even OB. I try to play a few times a month and I’ve played all across souther New England and Myrtle Beach and this is easily one of the nicest best courses I’ve played. It’s difficult but can be forgiving. One small side detail, the carts are the most comfortable I’ve ever ridden in!The pace of play got backed up because of a couple knuckle heads on 17 and the ranger drove around to each and every group and explained why and apologized personally. Most courses would of just had you deal with it. It’s not $60 for 18 but you 100% get what you pay for. Definitely check it out

Incredible condition, very playable but challenging layout just a beautiful place to enjoy a round. Staff were attentive and accessible. Only slight negative is no driving range, but otherwise outstanding.

The course is always in great shape and has a decent layout that plays fair. I cant give the course more than three stars as the lack of a proper practice area and clubhouse really dings the property. If I was just reviewing the course itself, it would be a solid four stars, but including the lack of amenities for a course that costs over $100 and it brings it down a notch.

Nice course, very good condition and good staff. Pace of play was great and finished under 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon. The only real negative was the lack of warm up facilities.

Great condition, well designed, courteous staff and great pace of play...but WAY too expensive in its current condition! Newport National is worth $80-100 MAX, sorry it just doesn’t live up to the hype.

This review is about the great running/walking (horses too) trail that circumvents the golf course. The Aquidneck Land Trust has an easement, so you can walk around most of the course and enjoy the lush landscape, with both wild and cultivated flowers and shrubs. This is one of the highest points on the island and you can see the ocean from certain points. Bonus: Find golf balls.

The course was in great shape. The tee boxes were immaculate. The greens were prefect. Everyone I met was friendly and respectful. I got moved up to the next group since I was a single so I didnt get the chance to see the practice area although I was surprised to hear there was no driving range.Ill be back and I recommend this course to anyone.

The cart stranded me on the 15th hole and apparently the employee that came to bring me a cart didnt feel that justified an apology--or even a courteous explanation.

Newport National Golf Club, rated 4-1/2 stars, is home to a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in Rhode Island. This links-style layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.

Mixed review for me. The tee boxes, greens and fairways could not have been better. The carts were a level above all other cars Ive ever seen. Comfortable seat cushions, GPS, cooler with ice, a real treat. My threesome played on Thursday at 2:00, the pace was okay until the 10th hole. A bottleneck of foursomes stuck on the 10th, left us waiting for at least 30 minutes. Perhaps one reason for the delay was the snack bar services. We were prompted to order lunch from the cart, presumably to have lunch waiting at the turn. Unfortunately the lunch was not ready, which held up the play even worse. That portion of the service was disappointing and awkward, not to mention the snack cart was absent for most of our round and not friendly when it did arrive. I was disappointed that there was no driving range and unimpressed overall for the price. Probably not going to play this course again.

4.5 stars. Course was fantastic, a true links style layout. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because there is no range.

Just played last week of August, pace was decent except for a few par 3s, course is in great shape. Carts required but are newer with GPS and course map. Small clubhouse with deck with food & bar service. Cart service on course for drinks. Courteous staff to help you enjoy your round.

Ive played a number of courses across the country, Cabo, and Hawaii. This place is a treat, in my top 10. Addressing some issues with previous reviews.Slow play -- believe theyve fixed this with new carts with GPS that track speed of play and allows the management to fix slower groups. We teed off at 10:00 on a Sunday and finished in 4 hours, 15 min.Green fees / value -- I payed a weekend rate of $150. For the course conditions and experience, I would say it was worth it. Maybe the higher fees chase away less serious players who play slower, thus helping speed of play. Ive played many of the bigger name courses out there. Conditions yesterday were about as good as Ive ever seen. Reminded me of Spanish Bay with the layout (minus the Pacific Ocean view). I actually preferred the conditions to SB.Lack of amenities, etc. I came to play golf so I didnt care how much $$$ was pumped into the pro shop facility. Finally, someone spending the money on the course instead of the clubhouse. The carts were awesome - gps, etc but also the most comfortable seats Ive seen on a cart.Staff was great, no issues...Lunch at the turn was great as well with a variety of options.

I have played this course many times over the years. The course I like....the management/staff/customer service is THE WORST. They send you an email ( been on their list for a couple years ) for a 65$ rate, I show up with my foursome and we are charged 75$. I explain the email and was told in rude way that they just decided to raise their rates....???Not the first time this has happened, only last time with some arguing I got the rate they sent out. This place will never get another dime from me again.... MUCH better courses in RI with better amenities and staff.

The higher rates have chased the hacks and leagues away so the course is pristine once again. greens rolling true and the whole course cut to perfection. its expensive but worth it every now and then.

Worst experience on a golf course in 20 years. No ranger in sight. After 4 hours left with 5 holes to play. Better things to do than wait every shot. It took 55 minutes to play the 10th. They have gotten there last dime from me. loved the golf course, hated the way it was run

What a treat to play this place. A wonderful collection of interesting holes, excellent greens complexes and well placed bunkers. Very open, so wind is probably always a factor. Nice attentive service from the staff. Dont be loooking for any frills, though. They work from a trailer and an enclosed patio. Food and drink resonable priced., byr, really, who cares. Go for the golf and enjoy the experience.

DO NOT waste $150....not worth it. No driving range, 5 hour round during the week, every Yahoo in the area plays or it is the vacationer who plays 3x per year. Never saw a Ranger, and no golf etiquette anywhere. Overpriced Muni....
