Went to Rock Band karaoke ... No regrets. The crew is rad. Theyve got pretty much every game to make you feel nostalgic. Love it

Not as much here as youd like there to be, but the culture is decent and prices are good besides them charging a dollar for a soda refill.. They usually keep it pretty clean and they have events all the time. I just wish there was more competition for game bars because they get away with being really lazy here.If you want to go in the other room where half the machines are off, the Switch is always monopolized for hours by the same people, and you want to sit on a couch facing a wall, then maybe this is the place for you.Management clearly doesnt care and/or doesnt have the money to fix things so you I guarantee you will start seeing lower and lower reviews.Update: Came here to support friends in Rock band karaoke, I cant drink alcohol at the moment and I cant eat anything on the menu. I was told if I just order soda and nothing else, then Im not allowed to stay... Which is fine because I am HAPPY to leave at this point.

Interesting place that’s worth checking out. Definitely different from most everything else. Food was alright perhaps better and also worse for others just like the atmosphere it’s not for everyone but perhaps those who want something different, great place to people watch and take in the scenery with all the video games and unique layout of the place. I personally call it a work in progress and results may very depending on when you visit as to what type of experience you have here. Life is short so don’t be so critical and try to enjoy the moment while supporting a business that dares to give you more and be different!

The Grid is pretty fun to go to. They have tons of video games and systems to play while you are there. Theres also lots of board games, giant Jenga, pinball machines, air hockey, and darts to name some other options. Drink prices are fair and they have various house cocktails. You can also get food, of which they have a decent selection. I havent had much food, but it has seemed pretty good. Theres always something going on too like trivia, rock band, or live music. My only complaint is that every time Ive gone there are lots of arcade games not working. It seems to be consistent, so not sure what the deal is with that. But even still, there are many other options to pass the time.

So, Id never been to this place until today, and let me tell you, I dont play a lot of video games. But I do like all the old Nintendo and Sega games that are scattered all throughout this place. They also have air Hockey , old arcade games with unlimited free play, and pinball. They have a nice selection of beer. I had some buffalo chicken fries that were pretty tasty. I came here for a T.O.S.O show on a Friday, the crowd was a decent size, but its very spacious. The sound was great, show was great. Overall had a really great time, and I can see myself coming back soon!

I love this concept.Super cool dive spot that serves beer and wine.Great selection of drinks and good bar food.Came on a Sunday and it was super lowkey. Had a lot of fun hanging out and playing games. Their Facebook has a calendar of their themed events. Haven’t had a chance to stop in during one of those but I would like to. Definitely a place I would come again.

Very well put together, inclusive gaming bar. Cheap cover gets you lots of free games to play (console, arcade, board, etc) and a few options you can pay-to-play if you want. They also have live music most nights, and other fun events, like Rockband, every week. Drinks, games, food, and music all in one place! Check it out!

If you at any time in your life you played video games this is a place for you. This place is simply amazing. You can play virtually any game you can think of that was on a console, they also have some old school arcade games too. Then if course they have a bar, and not just bottled drinks. On some nights they seem have live entertainment. Ive been here twice now and loved it both times.

Drove in from out of town to see the band we love, Snailmate, that were playing here. OMG it’s so much fun. They have game consoles all over the place from XBox to old time Nintendo and freaking Atari. Then their side room has other games like Flash Gordon pinball! I totally missed Pac-Man on Atari until right before we left. So much fun. This doesn’t even consider the music venue part of the place. The set up is fantastic. There is a section for those who want to really enjoy the music. There’s a dance area and seats with tables in a theatre style set-up. I really wish we had something like this closer to home. We would basically live there.

I love the geeky, but chill atmosphere of this bar. They have almost any console you can think of; including some arcade games. Most of the games are free in exchange for your ID (so you dont walk off with the games). Happy Hour is Sunday through Thursday. If you are looking for a place to have a couple beers and play some video games outside of your dark nerd cave, this is the place!

Well, we gave this place a shot. It was a complete bust. Half the games or more didnt work and the ones that did felt like they hadnt been cleaned ever. That brings me to my next point, this place was disgusting, the bar top was sticky and the floor looked like it hadnt been mopped for months. The food tastes like a grease pit. The employees were pretty horrible as well mainly focusing on their friends rather than the customers. I was also afraid to step foot in the bathroom. I hope Eco comes in and grades them down because they certainly do not deserve an A rating. HORRIBLE.

Nowhere inside of this place felt comfortable or inviting. The music was way too loud, and made it impossible to hold a conversation. We had to cup our hands and yell into each others ears to hear one another. They charge a cover fee just to get in and look around; and the arcade games still cost money to play. They had broken machines and random junk just hanging out on the floor. The layout makes it hard to get around people playing games or hogging bar space. Also, the drinks were expensive. I wont be coming back to this place.

This place, the staff, the patrons and the live music are worth checking out. Being 64, We don’t frequent bars much anymore and Punk music wouldn’t be our first choice to listen to but we went to The Grid on Oct 26, 2019 to hear a new Punk band called The Posters and were blown away by this talented trio. I was so into the music, I could not remain in my seat. I wanted to dance and I went up and stood in front of the band where I could watch the singer and lead guitar as well as that drummer and bassist. I haven’t had so much fun since the seventies. The Grid attracts people from all generations and styles. I’m now a fan of The Posters and Punk music and will come back any time they are playing. You will like this place. I didnt play any of the old games but they looked to be very popular. I had such a good time, I don’t want to wash off my arm stamp. Maybe, tomorrow, but I doubt it.

Half of their machines are broken. controllers dont work. Their ATM machine doesnt work. They dont do cash back. However, most of their games require cash. Employee said the ATM hasnt work for 2 years. That says a lot about their management. They require a cover charge and if you use a card, the security manager slides your card on a device on HIS phone. I had to freeze my card because he said the charge didnt go through but gave me a refund anyway. This place is extremely shady. Go elsewhere.

What a cool place. We decided to stop here just to see what it was all about and it was a ton of fun. A lot of free arcade games to play and such a chill environment. I wasnt able to drink due to medication, but they never gave me a hard time for not getting a drink. My only gripe was a handful of the arcade games were out of order which was a bit of a bummer but Id guess thats probably common when you combine booze and video games. Would definitely come back again if I return to the area!

Meh food but good beers and good games. No pricing on games though only buy food and drinks which is awesome! Will be back. Kiddo loves it

Cool place for the gamers among us. Only drawback is they dont have a full liquor license, so all you can get it beer and a few other basic drinks. But the games are fun, and the you dont know Jack nights and rockband karaoke are a blast!

Events like 80s/90s night and karoke night are what keep me coming back! Still great crowd and friendly staff, would like to see if possible if some of machines get fixed, but understandably the parts are hard to come by. Keep up the good you guys, you got a great thing going!

Nice little place to grab a beer and play a couple games. A quarter of the games were off but there were plenty other machine. There were a couple arcade cabinets (all the racing ones were off), a good amount of game systems, and pinball machines (which you had to pay to play). Entry fee was tiny and beer was okay. Didnt try any food.

Cool games, good service. I always spend over $100 on drinks and food even if I am by myself but I get to play some games for free so its good. I met this chick in Halloween with elf ears, we played jenga. Didnt ask for her info, definitely regret it.

The man had grown a beard and looked at me in my eye. He did recommend the nachos which is would rate 3/4. Maybe we have differing the. The bartenders made great beer recommendations but the cocktails left something to be desired. Ill definitely be back!

This place is like the secret level that gamers talk about in video games. Its a friendly place where you can play a lot of the oldest and even current games. So grab a friend and have fun. The hard part will be leaving, with so many options from video to board games.The food was awesome, though you need to be in the mood for good greasy bar food and sandwiches.The truly hidden gem is the Root Beer they have on tap. It is as good as can be found in places like St Louis.The staff is friendly and helpful. Theyll make sure you know how everything works and better still, make sure that the atmosphere stays positive at all times.Kids love it as well, though its best to stick to the slow times with them, like from 5 to 7 PM on weeknights and 12 to 5 PM on weekends.Cant wait to go back for their live bands and other events.

This place is my new favorite bar. Only thing, i wish someone was hired to service the machines. A lot of awesome games are a bit broken down. Other than that i find this place to be timeless and super fun.

Yikes! My hubby and I are ALL about beer and games and this place has so much potential to be the perfect hang out spot, but oof!! The lighting is dark in there, thankfully, but even still you can tell the place desperately needs a deep clean. We dropped a fry (which were hard and disgusting) and used the flashlight on our phone to pick it up... yikes! Would highly recommend they clean the place up a bit to appeal more to people... Menu was also lacking. I will say bartender was kind/welcoming and beer selection was ok.

First time visit. Hummus was pretty good. A little dry. My friends hamburger was good. Staff had awesome personalities. Had fun with them. Their concept is unique. Games are free with purchase (s). Kids can play games free and have a good meal too. Just a good place all around.

Dont waste your time. There are better places around the valley that are not going to be rude to their customers. I gave it a chance even after reading the other nonsteller reviews, bit that was a mistake.

I hate that I have to change my review of this place I really love going to. Please bring back the ability to lend newer games for customers to play... we love this bar but last time we went, we couldnt play any of our usual games on several consoles because apparently people stole some other games which ruined it for the rest of us. I even offered to lend my ID as collateral. They also got rid of the ATM machine so we had to go across the street in the cold at midnight to get cash. We were really bummed out because we drive clear across town to come to this bar and were happy to do, but its becoming less worth it :(

Went here for lunch because it looked fun and the reviews were good. The food was ok, everything is fried bar type food. Half the arcade/pinball machine area was out of order. That room smelled like urine or something similar. The place wasnt dirty but it didnt seem clean either.

Love this bar! Great food, great drinks and great service. The nights with a DJ are awesome!I will say that we do avoid going on nights that they have any kind of heavy rock/metal/hardcore/death core (whatever people call it nowadays) not because the bands arent talented but the space is just too small. The sound quality is not good and it is overwhelming when you are not there for the music.

It’s pretty cool. A bunch of games and interesting/different bar. Just so you know though, this isn’t exactly a hot spot for single woman. Most girls that are here are brought by their bf as it’s a cool and interesting spot.Bigger than cobra arcade in terms of amount of games though.

What can I say for this place but rocking awesome. I dont live out in Mesa/Gilbert but since we were out that way it was a must stop if your a gamer. They did the place up amazing. all the different rooms the assortment of activities from the variety of game counsels, stand up aracades, board games, table games almsot hard to give it justice in a small description. Made for the real gamer and touch my 90s kid heart. Had a dj and a small dance floor.The art on the walls and the decor of the place really makes the place. I was just a little confused the night i went why there was a five dollar cover dont believe there was one last time. They had a dj playing music but no one really dancing didnt seem that kind of place. Not sure if it goes towards all the ususage of the open play games which in that case I was happy to pay it cause im not a big drinker so if i contribute that way to the keeping of the doors open im all in. I say please open another location more central and ill be there. Love so much more then the dave n buster and main events but this definitely an adult scene at least at night. Wish i could say more on the drinks and food but didnt really partake that night beside a soda.

Held a wrap-up meeting here with my team to finish a project with some fun and camaraderie. We couldnt have picked a better place. Service was great, food was fun and tasty, and the selection of games to play for free was awesome! We had a great time and plan to return! Be sure to try the tater tots with different toppings!

VR is nothing more than PlayStation Vue. No dedicated system like Oculus real basic applications. The concept was good prices were Fair service was prompt and has fun events throughout week

Come prepared for things to not work. Most arcade games are black screens, games you want to play are occupied at all times by one person the whole night.Good drink selection though.

I love this place but if you are going to use groupon as a company please communicate with your staff on how to use this as a sales tool. We would have stayed and spent more money but the staff did not have knowledge of the offer from groupon correctly so we didnt understand what games were being offered.

This is a great alternative to your typical arcade bar. I love the idea of tons of video game consoles hooked up to play for free! You can try out so many classic consoles and games and drink and hang out with your friends while you do it. The live DJ music at least the night I was there was top notch. I would only suggest maybe they change out or maintain some of the tables and chairs as a lot of them were wobbly and dirty. I cant wait to go back and play some more games!

I like the beer choices, it’s very cozy if that makes sense. They have tons of games to choose from. I like the decor too it reminds me of the room I wished I had growing up. They also serve food which is a plus as well.

We love going to see The Deadbeat Hymns and other bands play live, and they have all kinds of games from Atari consoles to the newest VR game consoles and arcade cabinets and pinball! Fun all around and always has a drink special and reasonably priced bar foods that taste good and come out hot! (Even when it is packed my food is always brought fresh to me) very friendly bar staff and bouncer. 21 and up most nights, unsure if there are other nights for younger ages.

Been here twice in 2 months. It needs improvements to me.- $5 cover to get in; im totally fine with this. But when there is a good portion of games that dont work, and a fair portion of PaytoPlay games, I dont really understand. I would gladly pay more on the cover to have all the games available to play. This is my biggest issue. I had went to the Grid before the expansion. As I recall, all the cabinets were working and all were available to play.Food was iffy the one time I ordered so I did not order again. The bar does a good job and the staff are nice. They put on live music sometimes and I love that.I just cant get past the video games/ payment part. Its definitely gaining a Dive aesthetic. I think Ill try some other Video Game bars.

Extremely accommodating staff. Any time I have been in, Ashley is helpful, and never makes me feel rushed. On top of that, shes very friendly and welcoming. In a place where video games and beer is the focus, she focuses on you and makes sure youre happy with your service. The whole place is pretty laid back, and theyll help you with anything you ask for. Ask for the Miami Vice. Supposedly its her favorite and shes very good at making them.

The environment in this place is so cool!! The staff is super nice and all the games (and sometimes events) that are available make it for a really fun night!

Cool place to hangout and play some game . Got unique selection of beer and alcohol. Foods good. The one bartenders wasnt to great at pooring a beer and the glass I got was dirty, had something in the bottom. Place could be better if the arcade game actually worked or add a few more games. Unfortunately theres not to many place like this to hangout.

Really cool place and friendly staff! They didn’t seem annoyed by anything even though it was busy and everyone was super nice. Would give it 5 stars but honestly the food wasn’t very good. I’m pretty sure it’s just frozen stuff that they heat up, or at least that’s what it tastes like. I guess I wouldn’t mind it as just bar snacks if it weren’t priced so high. Hope they upgrade the food one day!

The place had a great, friendly atmosphere. The console games were a blast and the arcade game area was pretty enjoyable as well.While I enjoyed my time drunkenly playing video games with friends and strangers, the only thing I couldnt get over was the beer and alcohol selection. None of the staples of the valley were present beer wise, and the liquor selection was very limited. Im fine trying new beers, but the brands they did have were either overly hoppy IPAs or cans of White Claw.On top of that the mixed drinks we got off the menu were not very good at all. The two I tried were obnoxiously sweet and had an almost plastic-like taste.I want this place to grow because it genuinely is a great gaming bar; however, for now, Im going to be going to The Grid at the end of the night after I already drank elsewhere and dont care so much about the beer selection, but still want to keep on drinking while playing games.

Food is subpar. There were a lot of machines that were pay-to-play, which is kind of unfair since you have to pay an entrance fee already. There were also a lot of machines that were broken (completely out of order/ buttons sticking/ joysticks that are slow to react). It was cool that you can play console games for free though so thats why I gave this review an extra star.

First time visiting this place and it was ok. Many of the free arcade games were broken and it was very warm in there. The alcohol pricing is really good and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well with live bands on the weekend. I personally love the crowd this place attracts, very down to earth people. It it a cool concept that you dont really see very much anymore. I recommend you check it out.

AWESOME. We randomly decided to come here last weekend when my sister was in town. Ended up being free play night, and we had a blast! My mom and stepdad had an awesome time too, it isnt just for younger people. The staff is friendly and theres so many arcade games!

The grid is always a fun time ! Wish it closed later on week days though, caught us a little off guard when last call was at 12:25am .. but none the less an amazing atmosphere a tasty beverages!

We went on a Saturday night, and there was a band playing, which was cool.I would bring a roll or two of quarters when you come though, for you have to pay to play Dance Dance Revolution and Air Hockey.

Paid $5 to enter a dirty bar, with more than half the machines not working. Bartenders ignored us, had to wait over 10 minutes to be served. Ended up dropping over $30 for drinks that werent even that great.

This place is fun. Karaoke was a blast, I love the song selection and the lady running the show is awesome. A lot of singers. The games at this place are great, they have more than you think. Good drink selections, really good beer on tap. They have food. Get diddy kong racing for 5 stars!

Pretty cool place! My husband and I went during Punk night on Saturday. Im not a huge punk fan but they had some good bands put on a show for us. The drinks are fairly priced -- similar to Apple Bees or TGI Fridays. Lots of beer and cocktails to choose from. The staff customer service is great as well. Free games (for paying customers) all around which is a bonus! I will say, I took one star away because the food isnt great. Decent and cheap for snacking while youre buried in a game, but not the best. Not a big fan of mozzarella sticks being fried in pancake like batter instead of breading.

Always a blast! The bartenders have always been fun and friendly. The games are always free! This is hands down my favorite place in Arizona. My only complaint is that the food is just okay, on a good day. Still, this bar more than makes up for the food by supplying delicious craft beers and a wide variety of games to play with friends.

Really awesome place to hang out with friends. They offer arcade games, video games, board and card games all of which are either free or very cheap. They have a varied menu and a great beer selection. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I told the bartender what I usually order and he made suggestions that were perfect for what I wanted. The food and drink are a little pricey for bar food, however what you get will be delicious. The wings were great.I only wish more of the games had been working when I was there. It also is very dim inside so expect to occasionally pull out the flashlight from your phone. I will definitely go back.

Its a great place to relax, have a beer, and play a few games. Plus, its a great place to meet fellow gamer/beer enthusiasts. In addition to being fun for old school gamers like me, I recently brought my kids on a Saturday afternoon and we had a blast. Definitely a local gem and I highly recommend it!

Good food, good drink selection, reasonable prices

This is a gamers paradise night life. Tons of gaming consoles, about one per table. Anything from Atari 2600 to PS4, Xbox one and arcades!! Prices are very manageable and the entertainment is top notch. I recently discovered this place last weekend at the Game on Expo and they offer Rockband Mondays. So I went and attended and I loved the experience!!! It will be my Monday night place to go from now on!
