I hate to give a bad review, because I know COVID is killing peoples business, but I this was kinda a comedy of things that are missing, broken, etc.They were less than half full but had a shortage of skates and rollerblades and wrist guards. One of the pairs of blades we got was broken. It took us 3 attempts to get one guard for each wrist, and then they were two different sizes.The soda machine was out of everything except lemonade, the icy machine was broke, the bathroom had a broken sink.The funniest part of the day was, after many covid-19 mask warnings, they had a friend skate where they endorsed holding hands. Didnt quite make sense to me, but it made us laugh.On the plus side, the pizza was decent considering it was included in their Sunday special, but the star of the day, though, was the $1 GIANT cookie that was really good.Overall, it made me sad to see the state this place was in. Im rooting for them to make a comeback. If you have your own skates, they have a rink and music. So, theres that.

I had my daughters birthday party here, best party for the money hands down. My niece had a skate party in Tucson and didnt get half of what my daughter got here in Mesa. Our host was a young girl and at first I thought oh no shes not going to know what shes doing but thankfully I was wrong she was awesome, the kids had a good time and there was a lot included in the party package. We will definitely plan another party here.

Although some of the games didnt work, the atmosphere was awesome. Great pricing, lots of fun, good music, makes you feel young, would recommend to family and friends, would come back again and again. Customer service was great by the manager and the workers. Cant wait to come back.

It was ok . For the money we spent it was really a waist .Pizza came out so fast the kids were out skating at it got cold and than not eaten ... nacho didnt come out until 245 by then no one wanted them. There was no soda for the party guest so the nice manager let us go out and buy our own. The cotton candy towers came out as we were literally in the middle of trying to do the cake .Then we didnt have forks had to get up and get those .The birthday girl candy display was handed to us not in a display but just three packs of candy as we walked out the door .It was a very bad experience. Sadly we will not do a nother party thereThe only thing I can say id who ever is picked to host the parties need to know what to do.Party host need to be actually trained.

We loved it. Fun music, very nice staff and a feel of normalcy despite the masks. In AZ its hard to find a place -during Corona Pandemic- where kids and adults can move around. They clean often and check temperature when we walk in. Masks required.

Its great for good ol fashioned skating. They have different themed nights, no games during covid, masks on at all times, and just a chill vibe. New speakers too so the music is nice and loud.

Went here for my birthday with my kids & nieces they told us everyone has to wear a mask fine understandable my daughter who is 2 fell I picked her up and carried her out the way from the other skaters & the young girl that was working there called me out for it MEANWHILE she’s skating by all these people who don’t have a mask on & doesn’t say anything you cannot pick & choose who follows the rules when I confront her she says “ I’m sorry it just scare me” lady I signed a waiver I’m just trying to get her out the way so she nor anyone else gets hurt I will never go there again I wanted my money back too!

Overall the staff is friendly and the place is clean. There are often lots of unsupervised kids here as opposed to other rinks in the valley that have more families and adult skaters. Because of this, it can get a little stressful to skate since you have to really pay attention to younger kids who may not know how to skate or are skating the wrong way or playing games. Never had any problems though, always a fun time.

Wish management held their employees at a higher expectation level for customer service a basic respect for their elders.If you dont need anything from these teenagers or otherwise handle them with kid gloves then its totally chill though sometimes it is quite crowded and there is no actual schedule followed as far as skate/single/couple/backwards/game time so that can be upsetting for some.

Did not stop til I got there since 8:30 ish til 11:00pm

This was a very good experience! I had a class field trip and went here. Didnt know how to skate, but with the Skate Mates, it helped a lot! Another thing, the pizza is delicious! After I went 2 weeks ago on Saturday, with practice... Eventually I could skate! Thank you so much for helping me. Im going to come back tomorrow through 5:30-9:00! Thanks again!

Always a fun time and my son loves it. The cons... very old and run down, skates are super old and taped up, it is very warm. Do love the $1 treats they bring around and the pride is reasonable. They also do lots of fundraisers for the community.

We took our daughter to Skateland for her birthday party. It was more than worth the price we paid. First and foremost, every staff member there (and most were young people) was super friendly, patient and accommodating. Our party host was very busy with a couple of parties, but she always made sure to check in on us and took care of every detail. The kids loved the skating rink and all the games. The pizza was OK, but we also ordered a veggie tray was wonderful. Most places give some chintzy veggie tray, but this was not only huge, but full of obviously fresh-cut chilled veggies (as well as a pool of ranch for dipping). For the price we paid (nearly $290), we got two slices of pizza for 10 kids, the veggie tray, huge party favor bags for each kid, glow sticks and glow bracelets and glow necklaces for each kid, flashing light-up cups for each kid, flashing light-up glasses for each kid, and 30 game tokens for each kid. We also got free large drinks as the birthday kids parents. The DJ calls the birthday kid to the booth with their friends and they get to talk on the mic and pick a song. They also get bonus tokens as the birthday kid. AND they also get a huge slushie drink when the party is over! All the kids who came to the party were asking their parents to have their party there, too - which was perfect because they also gave out free skate passes to all the kids for a return trip! All in all, it was well worth the money and everyone had a great time. We will definitely be back.

My only complaint is the quality of the skates. They are definitely well used. You can skate in them, but they wont be the best experience. Bring your own if you can. Otherwise the employees are helpful and the skating rink is a great surface for skating and the live DJ plays a great selection.

This rink is a local favorite of mine. Been Visiting here since I was a kid. Now I enjoy bringing my daughter here and Adult Night.

My granddaughter loves this place I bought her her first pair of skates for christmas and we come as often as possible. she also had her birthday party there and had a blast I recommend skateland for everyone.

This place has amazing employees that go above and beyond. They are extremely helpful and courteous. We will definetly be going again. Awesome place to take the kids.

This is ridiculous ... !! drove from tolleson to be told they are only allowed 13 ppl outside from party reservations plus staff ... however we called prior to find out the policy and how they are doing things and NEVER was told any of this information until I was at the window a 45 min drive.. You should communicate this with customers but she said she is not allowed to do so over the phone ..! Terrible service .!!!

Fun rollerblading/skating rink. They have added a lot of security precautions but it is definitely time to replace some of their skates.

We attended a private party, for the release of a new flavor of Sailor Jerry rum. The facilities were perfect, with a huge dance floor. The facilitys been around for a while so the building has plenty of character.Theres plenty of spaces to park.

Staff was very nice, it was very sanitized and we had an absolute blast

Travel plans were canceled for my wifes bday due to covid 19. When we moved out here my wife had mentioned how much fun skating was back home when she was younger. Behold last minute I stumble across this. They were allowing people to rent the entire rink for a certain amount of time. Deal was pretty good. Its was just my wife daughter son and I with that big ole place to ourselves....loved it and really enjoyed ourselves. The hostesses were awesome as well. Very helpful accommodating with whatever we need. They also made sure to provide hand sanitizer at the entrance. Employees greeted us with mask and gloves. Keep it up skateland and look forward to ROLLING through again soon

Good place to go skating.

Family has been spending a lot of time at this rink since August. Daughter and I on inline skates and wife in roller skates. Good environment, daughter is always making friends, we met a speed skating coach and a handful of families just skating.We have made it out to one or two of the skating lessons Saturday mornings which range from the young and beginner to more advanced skating. Worth the time but it seemed more targeted towards roller skating.Wrist guards required in most of the skating sessions but not during adult skate sessions (Friday and Saturday nights). Of course, wearing additional personal protective equipment isnt frowned upon but isnt typical.The rink is a little sticky with softer wheels (83-85A) and usually feels better rolling in harder wheels (88A or harder); this is an observation shared and confirmed by a handful of the skaters I have talked with at the rink.Only two cons to skating here. The first is the step down into the rink that causes people entering to move slower and people exiting to have one more consideration during the transition. The second is that clothes always smell like fare food afterwards. Not big issues but worth noting given the 5 stars.

The location in Mesa, is a take your life in your hands when youre there! Talk about a place with scary looking dudes hanging out! I dropped my daughter off and in 5 minutes she was calling for me to come get her!!! I wouldnt let my dog in there!

It was fun, but the entire process of checking people into skateland needs to be revisited. As a businessman, I am shocked the owner allows such slow admittance. Hard to sell food when half of the clients are still in line waiting to get inside. However, once inside, its fun.

Really helpful staff, pizza is actually pretty good. A fun place and not too expensive for the family. Beginner skaters not a problem.

My kids and I had an absolute BLAST here! I hadnt been skating since I was a kid and it was great to be able to take my kids! Its affordable and fun and made this 37 year old mommy feel 12 again! Thanks for the fun!

My niece loves to skate and so we had her birthday here. It was a short notice, but one of the employees decided to stay late and serve us! I believe his name was Angel and he did a great job! He was always tending to us and refilling the pitchers and just making the best of it. I appreciate his time and effort, my niece was very happy! I do apologize for the short notice but I am thankful you were willing to be there.

Brookpark Skateland the great rink. What a wonderful place. Produced many fine skater and had the best skating floor in Ohio. Coaches were terrific. How I miss it. Any other pictures you may have of anyone please post them. Thank you

Actually very nicely updated with fresh paint. For a place that has hundreds of snotty kids in it all day its reasonably clean. They still play some of the old stuff from when we were kids. The food is terrible but thats not what you go there for anyway.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming! Larry the manager was so professional and handled are concerns like a great leader should. I have to give the biggest shoutout to DEZI she made everything look so effortless, she had multiple parties going at one time and was the best host I’ve seen . She took her job serious and deserves 6 golden stars on her own... Thank you my little girl had a blast.

I hadnt been here in years and was relieved that they finally got rid of the smell of sweat and body odor that I remembered as a kid lol.Crazy how long Skateland has been here, my mom went when she was younger, I also went when I was a kid and I got to take my daughter here for the first time recently.Always a fun time at Skateland!

What happened to this place?! Where are all of the arcade games? The Ghostbusters ad YMCA?!All of the fun is gone, facilities are far outdated, the carpeting still smells like sweaty feet, and the good is sub par at best.Theres not a lot to do in the Arizona sun, so the business is there. Please bring back the days of old!!

I just went skating for the first time since I was a kid and had a blasty blast. Next time I ought to wear thicker socks, but it was great fun for the family.

Awesome experience. Took my class here for a STEM field trip. The lesson was hands on for my students. Geared to their level. Included pizza, a drink and free skating after the science lesson. Everything was great and well prepared!

A little run down. but over all a fun place to skate and hang out. staff is very friendly. prices arent too bad. food to eat while you watch. good music. usually a lot of people (of all ages).

It was my first time here in so many years that my kids first time skating on the ramp and they all had so much fun

This was our groups first time here and we had mixed reviews over everything but the skating. Pizza was ok but not great. Hot dogs were salty which some said was great and others not so much. Music was so so. Bathrooms were clean. Kids want to give it another shot so that we will. You just cant beat that price for that many hours of entertainment.

Our 7 and 8-year-olds started lessonsin November 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed their lessons every Saturday morning since then.

My family and I went here for my birthday and we didnt do the whole birthday package thing, just went free skating. I had to try 4 diffrent skates until I got the right size then as I got them on, the called for a backwards skating only for two songs and since I cant do that, I had to sit out further eating into my already short 40 minute skate time. The place smelled like feet which I guess cant be helped that much. The music they played was weird with modern rap among the regular 80s and other unknown songs. The skates I settled with had a right skate that kept going left without me doing anything. The people were great though! Everyone was kind and patient. And when you went to return the skates, the counter was piled up with other skates.

Fun and family friendly! Has lots of activities besides skating, including arcade games. So happy they mandate wrist gaurds now. There are usually a lot of kids here so just be aware that you cant really be a daredevil. The music is fun and upbeat and the prices are reasonable if you go early or on deal days. Best if you have your own skates and equipment.

I truly like this place my son loves to go there and when he does I dont even think about the time customer service is awesome the establishment great kids behave like kids theyre having a good time theres not obsessive or obscured language theyre all just having a good time families friends gather their churches events and they still have a great time together I love that place here at Skateland in Mesa I would go as often as I can

Rough equipment (uncomfortable skates, broken laces, etc) and an old, sorta beaten down building. Feels like the place doesnt get a lot of love. If you can bring your own skates, that would be for the best.Actually skating and stuff is cool though, and the best part is that Skate land rents out for night events, that bring a lot of cool people. Look out for those, they make for worthwhile experiences.

So worried about making sure I paid, they couldnt stop to help. Asked for assistance on knowing how to fit wrist brace, the staff just gave me a blank look. I was more concerned I put them on correctly so he was safe. Still blank look after asking to make sure equipment was on properly and safely. Doesnt require a degree, but I wanted to be him to be safe. The referees on the floor were more into chatting with each other than making sure the many children falling werent run over by faster skaters. Too bad...could have been positive experience. No second chance as focus not on customers, but on money.

Its been around since the 70s and I use to skate here every wed abd sat good place for the whole family just love it.

I should not even provide them a star since the service is terrible and unprofessional. BEWARE the website is misleading. The prices do not reflect the actual price once you arrive. I advised the woman working there the website is inaccurate but the woman who worked there basically said there is nothing she can do about it. I made an attempt to call the supervisor and the number was not in service. Do not waste your time at the Mesa location.

DJ (kid playing mp3) will not play a single song through. Constant interpretation of a birthday party announcement or some other promotion. Shut the DJ up during the songs or actually hire one. Wrist guards required??? Give me a break.

I took my daughter for lessons. She’s never been on skates before. They had the kids walk around for a few minutes on the rug then right onto the rink with no support. After falling 19-20 times she was done. Horrible. Get new instructors.

Fun and cheap but a bit run down Ive come here for decades.

This was one of my 1st few jobs as a teenager, working at Skateland. Made so many new friends and good memories. Now my daughters go there to skate.

Grabage they are about to go out of business. Changing it policy no business from me I was a kid at club glow my kid wont be sharing my childhood because there staff cant these lil kids when there a cop on sight every Saturday as I remember.

Every time I come here it gets worse and worse. They held on to my card until I filled out a slip and I think they charged my twice. Usually I wouldn’t mind holding my card but usually they have a table with the slips to fill out PRIOR to purchase to save everyone time. This time they did not have the table which made the line significantly longer. Wrist guards are disgusting and don’t fit if you have bigger wrists, so bring your own. Staff was incredibly rude and wait times for food and in the line for admission was 15 minutes at least. As soon as I got to the counter the guy turned around and started helping someone else for 5+ minutes until I said I was getting irritated (to my little sister’s friends) then he helped me after he heard me. Most of the arcade games my sister and her friends played didn’t give any tickets. Then when they talked to staff about it, they were skeptical and really rude about it. Didn’t actually fix the issues just replaced our tokens. They also don’t pay attention to big adults running into little kids on purpose.

Great for birthday parties especially if youre 12 years old or any age its fun this is basically my old childhood friend that I use to fall on all the time and he use to pick me back up theyre called my hands. (Update) Im almost an adult now and Im thinking about taking my kids here so well see what happens next Ill finish review from there! See you in about 3 years hopefully!

Good place for a bday party

We just had our daughters 8th birthday party here. It was an amazing experience! Everyone was super friendly and our host Abby was amazing! Everything went so smooth and for once I was able to enjoy the party instead of running around trying to keep everything going! Everything that was included in the birthday package just blew me away! Everyone had a blast! Thank you so much for a wonderful party! You guys ROCK!!

This place is awful I came over here and got a blister the first two minutes if you do come here get ready for blisters and expensive food $16 one pizza at least they give you free water this place is awful even the toys are sold out I want 100 tickets and got one tickets

Great place to take the kiddos even if they dont know how to skate. They require wrist guards for every person that goes on the rink and they have skate mates that help the kiddos that are still learning how to skate.They have different programs throughout the year to help teach your children how to skate and during these day camp programs they even provide lunch for your kiddos. It may be kinda pricey so check the price first.

Came here for our kids school fundraiser. We had a blast! No different from the average skating rink as far as looks tho. Staff was friendly...the place was clean even the restrooms were clean as well. Decently priced food and snacks and a very fun environment. We will definitely return

I would love to give them 4 stars because my son really had a good time. But...facility is not wheelchair friendly. The restroom is not truly accessible and you can not get to the lower level games or rink floor.

Went here for a Halloween skating event. It was lots of fun, I like this Skateland better than the one in Chandler

I took my family here tonight and they absolutely loved it! This is a very modern, hip, cool (as in temperature) clean, well-lit, enjoyable family location. The staff seemed both knowledgeable and friendly, and as its a Wednesday when Im riding this, the price was right. Safety seems to be a high priority, as all skaters are required to wear risk guards prior to going on the floor. Just so you know, youre able to choose between four wheeled roller skates, or rollerblades. Personally owned skates are not permitted in the establishment. There are limited games, and also food and beverage options, each of which seems reasonably priced. Overall Id definitely recommend it, especially if you have a little one.
