The ziplines were amazing. So much fun. Just hope you go early or dont get stuck behind a big group because you will spend a lot of time waiting on people to move. I would highly recommend this place for a family outing as long as everyone is 55 in tall.

Most of the Go Ape staff are great, but there was one bad apple. Constance Connelly was the instructor on 8/23 at 9 a.m., the session that I went.Constance was very clever. She was polite to me in the demonstration area close to the cabin, when there was another instructor around. However, as soon as she led us to the practice course in the wooded area (Course #1), which is far from the cabin, and there was no other co-worker present (only customers present at this point), her entire demeanor changed toward me, since she knew there was no longer any coworker from Go Ape around to witness her behavior. She started viciously attacking me by screaming WELL LET THE PERSON WHO CAME HERE BY HERSELF GO FIRST!!! in a very loud and condescending tone. Im a paying customer just like everyone else, she has no right to make me go first. More importantly, why is she highlighting that I came by myself??? How does she know that I came by myself?? I could have someone waiting in the car (park), she would not know that, and why is she screaming at me??? Also what is wrong with coming by myself??? I enjoy doing solo as well as group adventures.Constance Connelly also FORGOT to tell us that the real course starts at #2, since course #1 is the demonstration course, but she did not tell us, which sent us on a wild goose chase looking for #1.Then the attack continued. When I was climbing, Constance would YELL at me, NO, you are doing this wrong, you are doing that wrong in a VERY HARSH AND VICIOUS TONE, which is completely uncalled for.Because of the nonstop attack from Constance Connelly, which made me anxious and nervous, I rushed through the courses as fast as I could, and because it was also hot on that day, I got sick toward the end of the final course, and I threw up (vomiting), Constance came up and asked me if I had anything to eat for breakfast that morning, I answered yes, not knowing this was a trick question (trap), because then Constance had the audacity to call me a liar by saying, Really? Its mostly liquid in there (in your vomit). Implying that I lied about eating breakfast, that I actually did NOT have breakfast. Did she look closely at my vomit? Also what if I had something liquid for breakfast?? Also its just ridiculous that she is trying THAT HARD to twist my words and make me look bad, more importantly, it takes a very low person to attack someone when they are down (sick). I never did anything to her, but she is somehow obsessed about attacking me, seizing even the final opportunity before I left because I was sick.I called Go Ape 1-800 number to report Constance Connelly, I was told Constance left in September, which was soon after my memorable visit. I guess thats why she didnt care when attacking me, because she knew she was leaving soon anyway.

This is more than a zip line, its an in tree obstacle course, too.Give yourself time, it takes 3+ hours to complete. Its great it is in the shade of trees 95% of the time.Instructors are great, knowledgeable and caring. You can tell they love their profession.I would not recommend to anyone that is not active or or great physical shape. You use every muscle in your body. Plus youll push yourself on certain obstacles going from tree to tree.I enjoyed the time with my family and how we encouraged/cheered on one another when each other was getting hot and tired toward the end of the course.

This is by far the best activity I have ever chosen to do. Me and my spouse just visited for our 3 year anniversary. Nothing like being able to accomplish this on your own, but with someone you love is so fulfilling! The course was very creative, each stop a little harder and more fun than the last. The price is high. But gosh was it worth the 2 1/2 hours we spent in the tree tops. With heat index above 100, it was surprisingly easy to get to the end for us. Thats because it is cooler way up there in the trees!!! We loved that they give you the option at some points to take an extreme route, or a less difficult route. We chose extreme everytime!!! Such a blast! No review would do this place justice. Thank you for bringing something so fun to our park here. It will be a tourist attraction here for a long time coming Im sure! I recommend to anyone and everyone!! Next step, year passes and taking my 12 year old daughter! Cant wait to go back, didnt want to leave!!

We had an amazing experience in the Go Ape course today. It was extremely adventurous and exciting, and definitely a wonderful place to visit. The only reasons why it doesnt deserve a 5/5 rating is because we were not allowed to keep our backpack in the cabin even though we called twice to confirm about it and, Site Manager was very rude and harsh to us although we found rest of the staff very supportive and courteous.

Omg!!!!!! We had soooo much fun. Dress comfortable and have a open mind. Also you might get dirty. This was a workout!!!!! My favorite is the Zips across the lakes. I wish I could have done that more. Also they do provide water at every station. I wish it was kept cold. I love the fact we were on our own at our own pace. Just remember to always stay attached to something and you will be fine. My husband is ready to go back. I hated all the climbing just to get up the tree for the next activity. I wish it was more like when you made it to the stop then thats it. I also wish I had the 25% off coupon BEFORE booking rather than AFTER we completed. All in all this was fun and I definitely would recommend to other people!

Alright; for a 57 years old that does not exercise enough, it was a real challenge, especially towards the end. But what an exciting, fun and unusual nature activity to do on a crisp but beautiful November morning. Not sure I would want to do that many efforts in the heart of the summer. Climbing rope ladders, going from tree tops to tree top through precarious net bridges and long zip lines over the lake was particularly enjoyable with these fall colors and invigorating fresh air.Watch for that fading upper body strength towards the end of the 3 hours course.Your mind think it can do that long Tarzan swing with no problems but your body can let you down hanging on that cargo net...I Highly recommend this fun activity but must warn that it is very physical and not for someone afraid of heights...

This is expensive. It takes a long time to complete. Expect to spend at least 3 hrs. But it was SO MUCH FUN! KIDS AND I HAD A BLAST!Only down - I called to say we would be 15 min late, and was told Id have to switch my time from 12:00 to 1:45pm. So when we got there at 12:05 we asked if it was still too late to start.. and were told yes we should be there 20 min before our session. So at 1:25 pm we came back, ready! But the guide/instructor didnt actually start until 2:20pm.That was frustrating standing around when we came as instructed. But it was tons of fun.

I gave this a five star based upon what it truly is. A climbing endurance course with a zip line componant. It is not for those out of shape, limited arm strength or those with a fear of falling. If you want a recreational family zip line experience look elsewhere. This is not it.

A fun outdoor experience in Shelby Farms. It is definitely worth the money buy you can usually find a coupon online or sign up for the email list and they send discounts out periodically. Not recommended if you are afraid of heights. I watched one poor soul paralyzed with fear who ended up stranded on a platform for a solid 15 minutes while her friends and the staff tried to talk her down. The zip lines across the lake are my favorite part and you get a whole new perspective of the park.

This place is literally a hidden gym (pun intended) in the middle of Memphis. Located inside Shelby Farms near the equally amazing childrens playground area, my wife and I have gone several times by ourselves and with friends and have never been disappointed. We just got back from another Treetop Adventure today and feel so amazing. Its a great and easy way to get a good workout and have fun at the same time.I would definitely recommend bringing some kind of gloves like bicycle gloves or maybe something a little heavier to protect your palms when youre climbing the ladders. We forgot this time and Im definitely feeling the soreness right now but its nothing unbearable. The staff are true professionals and make this process as easy as possible. It can definitely be daunting and some people did get scared but there is never any risk if you follow their very simple instructions and read the signs on the trees before you move on to the next platform.Look online and see if you can find a promo code, they usually run either a Groupon deal or a seasonal percent off code that will definitely help alleviate the purchase price. There are several junction points in the middle where you can take a harder route or an easier route but in my opinion they are really all about the same. They all converge back relatively quickly so if youre in a group you can each go at your own comfort level without really splitting up.Its important to understand that its not solely ziplining, theres a lot of rope courses and bridges to go over but you are constantly connected to a safety line and never at any risk. You will end up ziplining over the lake four or five times, youll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the zipline experience. Go check it out today!

Awesome experience, the course and staff were very impressive! Course took about 2.5 hours to finish....it was challenging and thrilling at times. Staff is very friendly and engaged - always around to help, but doesnt hover around and lets you go at your own pace. I thought it was a little expensive per person, but after experiencing everything and seeing how long you are on the course, it makes more sense. You will love it!

The one staff that I got was rude, snapping, smart mouthed, and inconsiderate of the autistic people. Need to hire older adults that are not impatient. She said that shes a certified instructor, my husband is an instructor and he said that she isnt trained for large groups. The girl couldnt focus, nor did she want to explain twice. Next time she will be taped. People who mistreat disabled people can cause their company a lawsuit.

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course at the Woodland Discovery Playground at Shelby Farms is a thrill seekers paradise! Its the first Go Ape course in Tennessee. The zip-line, obstacle course and canopy tour hangs around and above the parks Pine Lake nearly FIVE STORIES HIGH.The six courses include rope ladders, 41 crossings, 2 Tarzan swings, and 6 zip lines (5 over Pine Lake). For $57, you can walk among the tree tops on a three and a half-hour tour. When you arrive, you fill out some paperwork saying that you assume the risk that youre about to take. You get a safety instructor who harnesses you and walks you through the rules of the course. You start with a run-through - feet on the ground - and before you go on any father, youre reminded again that you are about to take part in a high-risk activity. LOL. Yikes!Course 1 is like a practice before you hit the big zip line over the lake. Course 1 is a few feet off the ground and gives you a taste of whats to come. A mini zip-line.On Course 2, you climb a ladder to the top of the trees. Once you make this climb, theres pretty much no going back. The climb continues through more obstacles to the big zip line thats 450-feet long! The most intense obstacle for me was that small zip line that takes you to a rope wall that you climb to the next obstacle. You feel like theres almost nothing between you and the sky.The actual zip-line over the lake is SO AMAZING! I felt like I was FLYING! So exhilarating! This activity is a must, if you like physical activity and wind in your hair. The courses continue as you zig zag over the lake.Course 2 is perhaps the most challenging.Be sure to wear comfortable clothing you dont mind getting dirty, drink plenty of water and have fun!Requirements from Go Ape:Minimum age: 10 years oldMinimum height: 4ft 7in (55 inches)Maximum weight: 285 lbs (subject to harness fit)Supervision: One participating adult (18+) is required to supervise up to two 10-15 year olds. 16-17 year olds do not require a supervising adult, but do require a waiver signed by their legal guardian or an adult (18+) who has obtained permission from the 16-17 year olds legal guardian. For 16-17 year olds, they recommend printing at home and bringing a signed copy to Go Ape.
