Yesterday was my first visit to the Capital Theatre, and Ive lived in Madison and its surrounding areas since 98. The Theatres interiors were something to behold, just as Overture Hall is; theyre part of the same Performing Arts Center... Wed gone to see a silent film from 1920, Good References, starring Constance Talmadge. Ive rarely seen a silent film, save for Wings, the first film to win a Best Picture Oscar in 1927. Prior to the film, there were 3 acts of a Vaudeville nature, and each were thoroughly enjoyable. Am eager to return!!

Saw the show from the balcony. Seats were great. Beautiful theater plenty of direction from staff. Looking forward to another show so we can go there again. Lots of room. Never felt crowded or herded like cattle you experience as so many other places.

The Capitol Theatre in Madison Wisconsin is a place of history that has been magnificently restored. Once used for vaudeville, it has a broad stage, expansive backstage and spacious dressing rooms. Since it’s restoration as part of the Overture Center, it has become a classic jewel in Madison’s crowning cultural center.

Amazing old theater with an organ. They host regular Duck Soup showings of silent films accompanied by said Organ. The architecture is stunning and Im so glad this historical gem could be saved.
