Wow, I just found the most chill place in Madison. Granted it was 1 on a Friday afternoon, but super relaxed by any stretch. Had a great pourover coffee and chilled reading the cap times. I seriously think a Norah Jones song was the most intense thing going on, which was fine for me. The front part of the Winnebago is a small cafe like set up, and the back, much more spacious area seems to be a venue for music acts and such. Im looking forward to seeing something here, and Ill update when I do. There is a bar in back as well; they seem pretty committed to doing this right. The daytime food looked straightforward, but I cant speak to it one way or another. Its definitely worth peaking at though.

Loved the vibe of The Winnebago. In the performance area, I stopped in my tracks when I saw the lighting fixtures constructed out of musical instruments. That room screams jazz. The Winnebago offers some great beverages - I personally enjoyed the Puer dandelion tea. The art in the cafe is also mesmerizing. Cool joint!

I dont know what this place is trying to be. They have food but really only for breakfast and lunch. They have great happy hour drink specials but only offer pizza by the slice. They have live music but charge a cover.I really like this place and the atmosphere but I cant see this place staying open at least not the way it is. I hope they figure things out though.

Been here for brunch and evening drinks with live jazz. Great brunch spot for large group- big tables and parking lot- uncommon in Madison. Food is sustainably sourced and they buy as many ingredients as they can at the Madison Farmers Market.

Went here for coffee and breakfast with a friend. Good food and great service. Relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful space with the decor and light. Peaked in the back and definitely want to come back to hear some music or for another event. Lots of potential and excited to see what happens with the space. There is also parking onsite which is convenient.

Weve been here a few times now, had delicious food and music experiences each time. It is a warm and welcoming environment. The person who waited on us this morning had a great smile, was warm, kind and patient (I have a 5 yr old who has difficulty deciding on what she wants in a timely manner!). We will continue to support this new local business.

This is a really beautiful space and me and my fiancée were so impressed by it, that we inquired about having our wedding here. We met with John, one of the owners, and he agreed to host our wedding. We met multiple times although communication with him was often difficult as he did not respond to emails timely or at all. We eventually agreed to having them both cater and host the wedding, but after they stopped serving food, catering was no longer considered and we were told we could go elsewhere to find someone to cater the wedding. John then said to contact him after the New Year to sign a contract and put a deposit down on the space. We attempted to contact him four times, and he has ignored all of our attempts to contact him about the space, through email, text, and DM on this page. Someone has viewed these messages, but there was no response, and we are now looking for a new venue for our August wedding. I think it is interesting that there was all this effort to promote how woke the owners of this business are by renaming it, and being a very inclusive space for all, but yet the do not have the basic manners to reply and tell someone they have verbally committed to hosting a wedding for that they are no longer interested in doing this. I would not recommend doing business with them, as they are unreliable.

I have to give it 4 stars. First time Ive been there and it was still early so not terribly bust just a 10 min wait or so. The food was good. The drinks were great. If you like spicy pop I would certainly go with the ginger minion or the black widow.Lets talk food. Walleye sanwhich was good. Chips were a good mix of floppy and crispy with herbs and garlic. Yummy!! The salad on the side has a vinegary spicy pop.The reason its not a 5 star. The grilled cheese sanwhich leaves too much for the imagination. It is riding along with all these other amazing plates and it falls very flat. Yes have a grilled cheese but make it shine and sparkle! If making homemade bread do something other than white, maybe a marble or even whole grain and thinner slices. Use some sort of stone ground mustard or jammy something, and have a cheese that has personality but not too fancy. The cheddar was flavorful but the bread was just blah. I could see a Harvarti with dill and mustard or cheddar with garlic something! Honestly I kept putting my side salad on it to get more flavor added. The dressing would be a good addition to the grilled cheese. It needs to stand up with its friends!!! So this is why I have to give this place 4 stars. I hope the grilled cheese gets a revamp! But otherwise a great place!

Came for breakfast - we were greeted by a smiling face and they explained that you order at the counter, can sit wherever youd like and the food would be brought to our table. I ordered the Shakshuka which was amazing - the eggs were cooked perfectly and it came with a huge chunk of sourdough. We sat in the back music venue area which was beautiful. I am looking forward to coming back and seeing some music!

The last time I was in here, it was a Norwegian community center that looked like your grandparents basement, only above ground. Normally I am against remodeling, upgrades, any cousin of gentrification. Leave cool old things cool and old. But this place had nothing redeeming that I could see. From the outside it looks mostly the same. Inside-- woah. I did not recognize it at all. They made it huge, and open, and slightly rustic in decor. Absolutely a major improvement.I was there playing with a wedding band. Their brunch hours were ending and they were closing to set up for the wedding. As I walked in, carrying equipment, I smelled the most delicious bacon smell. I asked the young lady behind the counter, was the bacon I was smelling for any particular dish? She said, the bacon egg and cheese sandwich is one of our top sellers. I said, is it too late to order one? She said, Ill find out. Some time went past and I figured it must have been, but after 30 minutes or so, she brought one over to me while I was setting up, no charge! I knew right then they would be getting five stars unless one of the staff killed someone in front of me, or used the N word, or something.I normally dont go for bacon breakfast sandwiches because the proportions arent to my liking-- bacon is thin so you need a LOT of it. This could have used a little more bacon, but the flavor was strong. The bread was flaky and whatever sauce they put on their MADE the sandwich. Some sort of aioli aka boughie mayo I assume. Whatever it was, it was wonderful. It was a very large breakfast sandwich and came with fried potatoes that were good but slightly underwhelming in flavor. They have some kinks to work out in their sound system. Otherwise everything went very smooth with the band and event. They did provide food for the wedding, I sampled a little of it, and it was good, possibly better than average, but not noteworthy.I know friends who have gone there to see bands and also thoroughly enjoyed everything about the venue.Only caveat, parking is VERY limited.Ill be back for sure!

I’m concerned about how the parking situation and late night hours have impacted our neighborhood. Since this place has been open, my car has been hit and run, I have drunk people loudly walking down my street at all hours, and I routinely have to park several blocks away due to events at the Winnebago. I was hopeful that the parking would be changed (at least proper stalls added to increase how many will fit in the lot) but now I notice even more of the parking has been taken up by construction. I just watched several cars park in the Woody and Annes lot and walk over. Disappointed so far in their ability to be good neighbors. I did have lunch here once, and it was good - the ambiance is nice and I like the menu. But what about the parking?!?
