Attended a family friends wedding here and it was very solemn atmosphere. Great architecture, love the old craftsmanship of woodcarvings, pipe organ added substance to the occasion. Lots of parking, clean and well stocked facilities in several strategic places. Helpful, patient and friendly security staff. This is a good venue to consider for large gathering of same faith.

Beautiful downtown LA cathedral. There is a school adjacent. The pipe organ is massive. Stained glass windows lend an ethereal glow to the interior. Beautiful location for a vocal performance - which is why I was there. There is a parking lot/structure attached.

I cant review this church as a place of worship but only as a wedding venue. Its a beautiful venue and looked amazing just dont plan to be there very long. They have VERY tight time lines on when you can arrive and when you have to leave. Dont try to show up early to take photos outside on the grounds, security wont let you in. Better get the photos done quickly after cause they will kick you out. Overall a very strange but pretty facility.

The church is absolutely lovely! It has a long centuries old history. One of the guests at the event we attended said, I dont have to go and see Notre Dame. High, high ceilings, stained glass windows and huge pipe organs. It also has a school. The grounds are lovely for taking event pictures. Their doors have fantastic architecture. In the hall they have a plaque showing the pastors going back to the early 1800s. I am quite certain the services are wonderful. I do intend on going back an attending a Sunday service. They also have security guards.

We are passing through LA from Oregon on Sunday after Christmas and popped into this amazing cathedral with a huge organ and beautiful stained glass windows. Their tradition is to offer a full rendition of Dickens Christmas Carol with 2 splendid actors. The congregation is cheery and friendly. If we lived here, this would be our church!!

This might be the most beautiful church in Los Angeles, and hosts the largest church organ IN THE WORLD (over 20,000 pipes). FCCLA offers a high church experience that that is stridently inclusive, often an interfaith experience focused on community, art, and social justice. I’ve always felt welcome there, and I say all of this as a Muslim.

The church has been a popular location for commercials, films, music videos, and television shows. The building is an impressive English Gothic Revival-style. The church is claimed to house the worlds second largest church organ. For me is the #1 largest church organ prior to being a formal graduate from the private Pre K-High School that the church still runs till this day.

Fantastic architecture, I believe Kay Nielson worked on the stained glass. I love passing by it at night. Defibrillator has its own presence, very photogenic. The Church is used a lot: schooling, event forum, service, etc. Koreatown actually has a surprising number of eye-pleasing areas of worship. This just being one of them.

The Progressive religious view youve always wanted to hear from the pulpit. (Though its a Gothic Cathedral this church has never been a catholic venue) The staff and Minister are loving and amazing humans, truly affecting change here in Los Angeles. If your looking for some where to feel accepted and loved for who you are (or whatever you are - they have an annual bring you pet day Blessing of the Animals), this is the place. AND, and this is no minor And, this Gothic Cathedral includes the largest pipe organ in the US with over 22,000 pipes. Its played by a world renowned organist, and every week youll here classical music written to be played in venues like this.

If you like old beautiful churches, this is something special. Built in the late 1920s its still looks like it did then and well maintained. They hold concerts on weekends, I just heard Bach, live instruments, singers and the largest church pipe organ in the world! Not making that up - look it up.

First Congregational Church of Los Angeles Easter Service today was phenomenal! The choir, led by David Harris sang beautiful anthems as well as one of his own arrangements! There was an Easter baptism and the Blessing of the children. Dr. Laura Fregin, Assoc. Pastors sermon entitled, Didnt See It Coming, Life After Death taught us to find beauty amongst the ashes not to be sad or discouraged, but to still find your life after tragedy occurs. JESUS ROSE! Christoph Bull is the organist extraordinaire for this church! I thoroughly enjoyed my worship experience at the historic First Congregational Church of Los Angeles!

This place is insane! So beautiful! I visited for my cousins wedding and was floored by how cool this place is. When you first walk into the main hall you cant helped but be amazed by its sheer size and magnificence. I was especially struck by the pipe organ and its pipes that are strategically placed throughout the hall. When the organist hits those low notes the sounds reverberates spectacularly throughout the church and throughout your body alike. Im not a religious person, but I highly recommend experiencing this church. Just to see it is great, but seeing it in action is so much better. Perhaps go to sit in on a service just to witness the acoustic mastery.

I have visited First Church several times in the past several years,it is a vital and enriching experience. Housed in Anglicanesque beauty with relevant responsible theology thoughtfully presented it features outstanding music that supports a well crafted worship experience. Dr. Colglazier is a warm and accomplished pastor bringing his premier pulpit to bear on contemporary life. In a building that drips of tradition is neither stuffy nor overproduced. This church is what church should be. It speaks Christian Gospel to the heart and brain. If you are fortunate to become a member, then join in this ministry you will be blessed and a blessing. If you can visit, then do and take home a vision of what liberal traditionalism can be.
