This shopping center is indeed the best when it comes to providing products and its services. Im so thankful because this place truly has it all. From imported products, food courts, boutiques, and many more. I was really having the best time here because the place was so amazing and everything else was perfect, especially for my family. Good job, everyone! Thank you so much!

I mean, its there and the pictures come out like the way we visualized this must-visit spot. But, I visit it during the coronavirus and it was empty which was actually pretty nice. It nice to experience it along with the variety of Asian food, store, toys, dragon fountains, lanterns, and more. Its nice but I really did expect more.

Amazing little secret....brought out the child in me again. Found this gem under things to do in San Francisco and the trek to get there was just as fun. We drove through quaint areas of the Bay and some not so glorious ones as well but it was all worth it. I enjoyed the slides with my middle son and despite the friction burns from hanging on to the cardboard, it was a blast. 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

We were there for an hour taking pictures at night and so were many others and then this college student security guard with a baton and radio shows up like he just woke up from a nap. Sorry you cant take pictures this is private property. I asked to see the sign. It was an 8x10 printout three feet above our heads out of view nine feet up on a pole. This is listed as a Tourist attraction but you cant take pictures of the buildings, lights or shops without a permit? Omg! LMAO

Im sure this used to be more populated and better than what it is now. Mostly the elderly people around. Apparently this was where Rush Hour was filmed. Theres a Bruce Lee statue there. Definitely nothing compared to NYC Chinatown. Barely any Asian supermarkets or street vendors. They need to fix this place up and bring back the younger Cantonese group back to make it feel more like Chinatown.

It was the first time that I was there, it is a nice area to visit sometimes specially try Chinese food and Chinese stuff, there are small shops there that you can find herbal tea and Chinese spices. Another thing that I did like is Bruce Lees statue there; however it is not look like him ;-), for parking there are parking garages there that you will be charged 4$ atleast, it is around 20 minutes walk from union station that you can visit Alvaro street before going to China town.

Coming from the east coast, Im more familiar with Chinatown in DC, which is typically lively and upbeat. Chinatown in LA is a lot smaller, and it was practically a ghost town. There were relatively few shops open in the Central Plaza area and only a small handful of people, but the architecture and decor was cool, as it tends to be in Chinatowns across the US. I probably shouldve ate somewhere around here but I was short on time.

Maybe it was the time of day and the day of the week (Monday around 2pm) but it was pretty lonely which I like dont get me wrong, but it didnt look very lively. At the same time, the shops were open, went into 1 and wanted to buy all sorts of things (hair clips for the most part, very shiny and fancy) they had a lot of Chinese new year stuff (stamps & bracelets) and just a whole bunch of little trinkets. I was really the to check out Burgerlords, but thats another review :).

This Chinatown has everything I wanted to explore, history, food, Chinese trinkets, people watching, etc. I loved to stride up and down the clean and broad street, shopping and eating the mandarins I got from street vendor for $1 a pound. Some items could be cheap if you know how to find them. My girl found a denim cap for $2. Parking is $5. This place is worth spending half day and I had a very good time in Chinatown.

The development of most Chinatowns typically resulted from mass migration to an area without any or with very few Chinese residents. As described by the 16th century European travellers to East India[1], Chinese quarters were already in existence at most of the port towns in this region. Notable early examples outside Asia include San Franciscos Chinatown in the United States and Melbournes Chinatown in Australia, which were founded in the mid-19th century during the California gold rush and Victoria gold rush, respectively. A more modern example, in Montville, Connecticut, was caused by the displacement of Chinese workers in the Manhattan Chinatown following the September 11th attacks in 2001.[2][3]

This place has always been a fun place to go bar hopping. A lot of the bars play good music and have drinks at a good price. From time to time they have outdoor events like Chinatown summer nights which is super fun for the family. There are numerous food trucks and food booths as well as confetti cannons that pop off everywhere. It almost feels like a New Year’s Eve celebration. The kids love it and we will surely come back to this yearly event again.

We enjoyed visiting Chinatown. It still looks pretty much the same as it did fifty years ago, but it is certainly not as well attended as it was then.We went down there on the train to have lunch and just walk around a bit. It was on a weekday. There were very few people there and many of the shops were not open. Some shops looked as if they were permanently closed.I always feel nostalgic when I go to Chinatown, but I am sad that it has deteriorated somewhat over the years.

Love China Town and I love visiting what we call the Buddha Fountain. Though it leaves a thought if wonder in our minds about how when the economy tanked and killed a lot of businesses if China Town will fully recover to be the way it used to be before then bc I thought the Buddha fountain used to have water and its been dried up for quite some time. Other than that though... the area seems to be making a come back with new restaurants and shops, so thats good to see. Hopefully it will return to its full glory again.

It was pretty cool as a sight-seeing location. It was mostly authentic Chinese shops with cool traditional Chinese wear. They had a nice Bruce Lee statue and a cool walkway with the red lantern balls hanging overhead. We passed through during the day, but I can only imagine how nice it looks at night. I also hear that they have Majong night there in the streets too. Its worth a visit, I think, but in my experience, we only passed through in like 10 minutes as it was mostly closed. Oh yeah, and the famous restaurant from Rush Hour is there too!
