I used to really love this park, especially when the lotus bloom. The swan paddle boats are fun. (Must be reserved in advance due to Covid-19 rules) A good deal of water birds; including ducks, geese, etcIts an easy walk around the lake as well.Downside: when I was there last week, the park was 65% homeless tents. Its a huge issue in LA & it has taken over the park.Currently there is only street parking.

Park is completely overtaken by homeless and every spot of grass is covered in a tent. Would really love to know what part of the park all of these other reviewers saw that was 5 stars and beautiful, because I didn’t see it. And yes, no one wearing masks in the worse part of the pandemic (and I’m not talking about the homeless population, hardly any of the people in the park were wearing masks, maybe 1/30 people had a mask on ) The park was very crowded. I even had paid ticket reservation to go on the swan boat, but left. It wasn’t worth it. Could not even imagine trying to have a good time on the swan boat while be surrounded by homeless tents.

One of the best parks I have ever visited in my life. It was so alluring and peaceful. Its so big that even one day is not enough for you to completely explore every inch of the park. Its a great place for weekend getaways with children. It itself has a fort, pond, and whatever you look for. A great place to relieve yourself in the ever-busy City.

I was so shocked to see it so overcrowded, It I had to guess, 1 out of 10 had a mask on, some social distancing, by the way I visited on a day people set up tables and tents and sell items. Every seller wore a mask otherwise it would have been way under 1 out of 10, more like 1 out of 40. I left right away when I saw no one cared about the pandemic and no one enforced mask wearing or social distancing at a time we are at the highest transmission rates. I would say if you want to possibly get sick or are young with a carefree attitude visit here, if you are responsible stay away until after we are vaccinated.I wish I could actually rate the park but I was gone within 3 minutes.

Love this hike! Nice cities views! The trails are wide and a nice switch from my everyday routine of going to the gym. Sometimes its nice to be outdoors and enjoy nature in all its beauty. This was only my second time here but I feel like theres a million trails. Im used to Cowles mountain which is in San Diego. Very similar but Runyon is about 10x bigger.

Great views from the lighthouse. The views from the lighthouse are spectacular and the bridge crossing makes it even better. Once you cross the bridge the lighthouse is just ok, but the views and the bridge make up for it. Mark sure to check the schedule as its only open a limited hours. Definitely worth the trip.Stop by the nike missile range on your return... The guys volunteering at the place are awesome. Plus seeing the missiles up close and personal are pretty neat.

The park itself is very beautiful with views of the lake and downtown LA in the background. Park includes a lake with swan boats that you can rent for $10 dlls per person. The lake has wild life like fish and turtles which you are able to feed(dont forget to bring bread crumbs) there is on site food vendors. Down side is that it reminded me of LAs homeless crisis seeing a lot permanent tents on the north side of the park and noticed quite a bit of trash throughout the park from people just walking away from their areas without picking them up. If you do visit place trash in proper bins

This is part of skid row. Its evident of how nice the park once was, but thats all gone to homelessness now. Theres still room to explore, swan boats to pedal across the lake, lots of vendors to buy from, nice photo opps, and time worth spending here, but its sad to see all the homeless tent communities that surround this entire area. Took pics on my camera instead of my cell.... Sorry.

The only downside to visiting this park, especially on weekends is finding parking around the park. Other than that the vibe is always good and you can find all sorts of junk food around. Nice walk around, looking at the ducks, turtles etc and you can rent boats in the shape of swans by the hour. Downside is there is a colony of homeless people on the Northwest end of park by the bathroom stalls across the street from the church, I am sorry but this shouldnt be allowed.

A neighborhood park around a historical lake in middle of downtown LA. They have a coffee shop and a place to rent a paddle boat that looks like a white swan. Several street vendors are around selling drinks, Mexican desserts, grilled corn on a stick and churros

Love the updated park, even though its been a couple of years since Echo Park reopened. But it’s much nicer, still, a few homeless people sleeping around the park and parking is just horrible. Nowhere to park and parking enforce is in full effect. As we were leaving the park late Evening parking enforcement was taking pictures of car plates, basically giving out tickets. You are considered lucky if you find parking near the park. But once you’re in the park its a nice place to sit and talk and just watch the children play. The little paddling duck boat is cute too. Lots of small vendors selling coffee, food, ice cream, clothes etc...

Great place to bring kids. You can pedal boat on the pond, it costs $11 per adult per hour and I think $7 for kids. There’s a playground, and it’s a really neat place to walk and enjoy the area around the pond. There’s a ton of wildlife and really cool looking plants with downtown off in the distance. There are food vendors all over the park, and plenty of shade to have a picnic.
