The World Stage is a cultural icon of the African American literary community. Creativity dwells within the walls of The World Stage. The range of talent that graces the stage ranges from live jazz to spoken word. The Anasi Writers workshop a weekly feature of the World Stage helps to nurture the written and spoken word of seasoned poets and newbies alike. The World Stage is simply the best.

This is a wonderful space that has been redecorated recently. Went to see a jazz legend and it was like the trio were playing in your house only with a fun crowd and great acoustics. Outside they have a suggested donation bar and delicious looking food which I missed because I arrived a bit late. There is a lot of parking in the evening so go buy a ticket and listen to great music.

Awesome talent. I went to a new voice talent reveal. The new talent was awesome. The regular instructors and staff was what you would expect from any amazing jazz performance that you would see in some wonderful top concert. That Miss Rene, and Miss Matilda were so incredible. I also witnessed an L.A. musical daughter, flutist Sukari Reid-Glenn.Another nice place to go to to enjoy a musical evening.

The music concert was wonderful! I went with a couple of friends and none of us have African orgigins, but we were warmly welcomed and we enjoyed the music so much. The musicians are very talented and there was a good variety of jazz songs. Had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

I especially enjoy the Thursday Night live jam sessions where all the talented, local jazz heads come out to jam! The music is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, there is usually snacks and light refreshments available. The best part...it is only a $5 donation Yeah...you cant beat that! Fantastic for an eclectic and original date (bring your own wine- drinking on the patio only), a personal get away, or some place to play your heart out! Yep...if you play or sing, you can sign up and perform, too! Man, if you love music, then youd appreciate the experience. And if you are an artist, then welcome home

My aunties and I were in the neighborhood, checking out the book store, and came across this little gem. It has sum cool items and what had caught our eyes, were the painting displays hanging throughout the entire store. Being that my auntie is an artist, (I, as well), naturally, we took a peek. WE WILL RETURN, FO SHO !!!!

This is a very FUN place. Its very entertaining and a great place to spend the evening. The cons are that the cover is expensive and you arent guaranteed any seating. There is usually a line after dark as well.

I have known of this place through the years, before they relocated to the current location. I have always intended to visit for a few of the classes. A few months ago, I was able to attend a Saturday an 11:00 am class and played Summertime with the House Band! I visited an earlier time before this when it was at the previous location for many years at an evening Saturday or Sunday event and made a video of other Musicians performing. Always live music and classes for a Donation. The World Stage is Really a great Cultural Organization.

We went to this venue later at night when they had some jazz music playing, but we didnt stay because we didnt have the cash for the cover fee. Still, the venue was behind a dark alley and very few people were there. No drinks or food were allowed inside and only juice was outside- kind of like an old BBQ style only without the BBQ.
