Trails are clearly marked. Not far from downtown liberty but just enough to get out in the woods. Great little pike for our family this morning.

Cute little place. The upper area is handicapped accessible but Im not sure Id try further down the trail. Beautiful place. Inside is closed due to Covid. Not anything super extraordinary, but nice little chunk of nature inside Liberty.

Love this place! Beautiful scenery. Definitely a great place to go alone, or with the family for a nice walk in nature. They also have great events for children for several different holidays.

What a treasure in the Liberty area. Used the paved trails on a wet day, but still plenty to explore. Great for young hikers.

The trails and creek are beautiful here. Its too bad were not going back. Every time (no exaggeration) weve gone (appx 10ish times), the man who works there has said or done something to ruin it. Today was the last time I could handle it. I had a family member whose son had brought a bike. It was their first time there and as we were leaving, the man was there (who I thought we wouldnt have to see) told them that bikes werent allowed. No biggie, they apologized and said they didnt realize it. That should have been the end of it, but he then had to add, Maybe you should look up the rules before coming to a place like this. And made her son WALK HIS BIKE the 10 ft of the paved trail they had left before the parking lot (that makes no sense). He then added that Hes lucky their officer (yeah right) wasnt there or else he would have written him a ticket. Then he proceeded to ask for donations on their website because their numbers are down for the quarantine. I have some advice for you: if you need donations, you should stop harassing the patrons from which those donations come. I love supporting nonprofit businesses, but not when every time I go, we are treated like were there solely to break the rules.

We went on a Monday - the center was closed. Which was okay - wed only really gone there for the hike. Trails were lovely and mostly clear, but there is a lot of disrepair to the informational plaques and a spot or two where the trails couldve benefitted from clearer signage. Still had a lot of fun, though!

While there are some beautiful flowers and lots of nice natural landscaping, the trails here have really gone downhill. I have brought my kids out here since they were super young and walked the trails with them. Went out there today after not being there for few years and the natural paths are way over grown, the asphalt paths have too many cracks and ruts and definitely would not be ADA compliant especially for some one in a wheelchair. While most staff and volunteers there seem pretty nice and helpful the director is very rude and abrasive. There used to be so many people out there using this place, but it seems pretty abandoned these days. Such a shame. Im sure Martha Lafite Thompson is turning in her grave.

Ms. Sue and Ms. Marsha were so very kind and great during our homeschool field trip. Both ladies were gentle in their approach with the kids with the animals and took the time to listen to the children and gave the children confidence with the animals. They really did an excellent job since some of the kids were nervous about some of the animals. The short walk outside was the prefect amount of time for the weather today! The information was detailed and informative. All the kids enjoyed seeing cold blooded critters and everyone came away knowing more than when they arrived. These ladies get 5 STARS!However, after our program was over the kids were exploring the nature center and looking at the animals, snakes, fish, and rabbit. My 12 year old asked if she could hold the rabbit. Mr. Sandys reply was unkind and rather harsh. He told her that she didnt know how to hold the rabbit the way he holds the rabbit or pick it up. He went on to tell her she could come up and clean the rabbits cage once a week and then after a time he would show her the way HE holds the rabbit and he would TRAIN her on how HE picks up and holds the rabbit. A simple no, we dont let anyone hold the rabbits would have been enough. Or he could have offered to hold the rabbit and let her pet it, like with the other animals they had been allowed to pet. This embarrassed her, and it hurt her feelings to be talked to in such a manor. No child should ever be talked down to like that. She was humiliated in front of her friends. She doesnt have any desire or interest to return to this place. We will not be back for this reason alone.

Absolutely a great place to come visit natural habitats and get hands on, up close experiences with the animals through exhibits, personal tours and activities all year round...Always room for more volunteers anytime of the year...check it out! My family moved to Liberty in 2005 and we ALL volunteer here. My husband recently built beautiful benches for the trails (yes, Im a little partial) repaired and replaced signage( like using a post hole digger? Need your help) and helped reinforce brick walls in years past. My son feeds the animals weekly. We all help with the Fairy Tale Forest and Elves Workshop and other great activities during the year ... You name your experience and/or interest, there is a volunteer job waiting for you! We welcome bird watchers and hikers, of course, too! Scout gatherings, birthday parties, homeschooler programs; you name it weve got it...

Nice little park with beautiful wild flower meadows. Should have asked if they need volunteers because the trails and areas could use some maintenance. Its worth a visit though.
