This is a great museum that teaches science in interesting and fun ways. It has neat exhibits and specimens, fossils, etc. of a variety of animals. The bird exhibits are especially good. The play areas are really good for kids and are interactive. The volunteers and staff are very helpful also. If I lived in this area I would havea membership !

My husband and I took our two children, ages 5 and 2.5, here today. We really enjoyed it! It was a fun way to spend to spend two hours! The main level was great for toddlers/school-aged children with many hands on exhibits. My children loved being able to interact with the reptiles in the animal room. My husband and I enjoyed the lower level with the rock collections and taxidermy animals. Definitely would recommend for families with little ones for a fun day out!

Went there yesterday and had a blast with my girlfriend and kids. So much for the kids to do. A lot of interactive stations. A whole room of live animals and live feedings at 12:30. The staff is very friendly. The guy running the planetarium let the kids use the remote and move the stuff on the screen. Definitely going again.

Such a great place for young kids to learn about all sorts of science-y things! Also they have animals and really knowledgeable volunteers who can tell you all sorts of interesting facts about said animals. I sat for five minutes petting a turtle and learning all about what makes each kind of turtle there, unique!

Theres so much to see you can wander for hours for a very small fee. It has dinosaurs, live animals, specimens, fossils, geological displays, taxidermy displays, even archaeological, and local artwork. What a fantastic find!!

Wonderful museum for families with young children. Thoroughly enjoyed learning in this fun, educational and friendly environment. Hands on activities make time fly by. We visited mid week at opening and the museum was quiet.I enjoyed learning alongside my wife and son as we took in each exhibit. There is a traveling exhibit that tells the stories of how 3 children changed the world (Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges and Ryan White) that were quite powerful.

I have been to the North Museum several times with my children and it is always a great experience for the kids and me. On this particular visit we on a class field trip and enjoyed the latest new exhibits the museum had to offer. We began our visit in the large dome-shaped theater where we watched an educational film about space involving characters from the Magic Tree House book series. Then we enjoyed the hands-on displays in the animal, dinosaur and technology exhibits. My kids really enjoyed programming the small robots and watching how the robots responded to each program. I enjoyed the many species of taxidermied birds they have on display in the basement. We could have stayed and played for several more hours. We definitely plan on returning to the museum this summer for some more fun at The North Museum.

Small, but so much fun. Amazing collection of geodes and birds in the basement. Lots of hands on for younger kids. My 8 year old and 13 year old loved the place but they are both really into science. We all learned a ton and found the exhibits very engaging. It is not a huge major museum but the admission is a fair price given the upkeep required, especially of the live animals!

I enjoyed it. The upstairs art gallery was kind of a ripoff though. They had a small live animal section which was the best thing ever! They also have a small gift shop, which if you go you need to leave with a celestial buddy. They had cool science things, like a tornado machine, and it was fun to walk around and see the things. They also have toys in a couple different areas so if youre coming with young kids therell be something to occupy them if they get bored.

We recently had a birthday party for my daughter at the museum. The price was fair and you got a discount with a membership. We were allowed to use the party room for longer than our time slot because there were no other parties scheduled. This worked out very well for the older members of our party that needed a spot to rest from walking around the museum. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful. There are plenty of interactive activities for children. The planetarium show was excellent. We love bringing our family to this museum.

A decent natural history and science museum, considering that its in downtown Lancaster, PA. Theyve got 3 floors (well, 2, really, unless you count a very small art exhibit among administrative offices as a floor) with a very large taxidermy-ed bird and rock collection on one of them. The main floor, however, has their planetarium (very cool) and a small number of live animals (lizards, snakes, etc) and hands-on activities for kids of all ages. The membership price is definitely the best deal if you plan to go more than once. Otherwise, you could probably go once and feel like youve seen all there is to really see.

I wasnt sure what to expect, but this museum was tiny! Despite the size, it is full of an array of really interesting stuff. Perfect for young kids and toddlers. I feel like things dont change much at all and everytime I come some displays arnt working. What happened to the planetarium?!I get very disappointed every time I come. We had a great time at the museum today. My daughter loves animals and this place is full of them. I appreciated the size of the museum; it wasa manageable excursion that you can see what they have to offer in an afternoon. Thanks for your commitment to veterans as a Blue Star museum. This wasnt a huge issue with a three year old with us, but if I have one piece of advice its to provide more information about the animals whether thats in the form of tour guides or guides stations in certain sections, printed materials, or even links / QR that I could see a video or go to a web page about the animal. Theres a small sign with their habitat, lifespan, etc. but we happened into a staff person feeding a legless lizard and learned a lot in that few minutes chatting. It would add to the experience to have that kind of background accessible for all of the animals when someone is so inclined.
