We decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by very pleasant staff inside the visitor center who gave us a map of the museum and explained all Landis Valley Village had to offer. We did the self guided tour for a while before coming back to the visitor center for a guided tour that lasted about an hour and a half and took us to buildings that weren’t open without a guide. Our guide was very informative and answered any questions we had. We had a great time exploring this unique and historical place in Lancaster.

Loved Landis Valley Village. Some of the tour guides are very knowledgable and friendly. At least half of the village dwellings are recreations from 1970. There are a few original homes on site. TAKE NOTE: grounds are open till 5 but guides/staff and some sites close / leave at 3pm. In addition 12 -1pm staff is on lunch break same a mentioned above. Blacksmith, tavern and log home interactive exhabits are a must see when opened. AAA discount available.

Great range of historical buildings & demonstrations. Great for walking around too. Our visit was highlighted by a trip to the Blacksmith, a super friendly & passionate guy. He taught us so much that we stayed in his shop almost an hour! The second highlight are these beautiful giant horses we saw. Worth the trip for all ages!

There arent enough accolades I can give this place. What an awesome, amazing first time visit. I can see this will be a continuous adventure. There wasnt enough time to see everything because each interaction at a demonstration with the staff was just wonderful. The information and the educational side of the different events was something I will forever cherish. We plan on bringing the grandkids in the future.

Drove 2 hours to attend their annual flower and plant sale. This is also a fundraiser for the museum. Had to pay $12 each admission which I thought was a little steep considering most people were there for the plant sale and not to tour the museum property. Fairly nice variety of plants and shrubs and trees but they werent giving them away! Bought a few plants but ended up visiting cherry Hill nursery and Stouffers garden store afterwards for selection and price.

Fun place to visit it was really cool how a lot of the buildings had people in period clothes explaining and demonstrating how things were when Landis Valley village started. My absolute favorite part of the village was the blacksmith area. When we had went he not only was demonstrating blacksmith techniques but was also very knowledgeable about the buildings history as well as able to describe every step it took to make a horseshoe from ingots it was all very interesting. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in history young or old

We love the Landis Valley Farm Museum but when we got there on a Friday, the place was overwhelmed with 283 grade school kids. The kids were well-behaved but every building was set up for the their tours and we could not see anything. We got to peek into the school room through a window in the cloak room and that was pretty much all we saw. We asked for our money back and received it with no problem. My advice is dont go if the parking lot is full of school buses.
