Matt Lowe is super fantastic, and we were extremely happy with his recommendations. The work team sent to our home was efficient. The services we received were tree trimming (this team was great), removal of all old plantings, bushes, etc., as well as a new design for landscaping for our front yard area. Again, all work was done very efficiently. I wouldve given five stars except for the fact that the clean up after the work was done was not satisfactory. Their work members need to pay more attention to detail in that one particular area. When speaking to Matt, he offered to send folks back ... which was very nice, but we declined and did it ourselves. We will be utilizing their services again in the Spring for more yard work in the rear of our property.

I’m a resident and board member of a small community with an HOA. We switched lawn care providers this year and chose Tomlinson for their quote and well known name for the area. The year started off good with spring clean up but since the service has gone down hill. Even the most basic of tasks is not done correctly. (Do not blow clippings into flower beds). We have more grass and weeds in the flower beds then mulch. Walkways are not cleared and if any trash is on the ground it’s mowed over. We are currently looking for another provider to service the community.Edit 9/23/20. After further discussion with Tomlinson we learned the service was being done by a sub contractor. Scott from Tomlinson was quick honor the request we submitted and came out the very next day to look things over and correct the complaints we had made. Thank you Scott!!

I use the pest control service and I am very happy with it. They treat less frequently and at a lower cost than other companies I’ve used, but just as effective. Any time I have a problem, which is rarely, they take care of to right away. I’m a satisfied customer!

We have used Tomlinson Bomberger for years for tree maintenance and recently used them for pest control (yellow jacket nest). They are always very professional and responsive and we have always been very pleased with their work. Will continue to use them for future needs.

We called them to have a hornets nest removed from our 2nd floor eave. They were prompt and courteous. Unfortunately, there was misunderstanding as to what services were to be done. We were under the impression that the nest would be physically removed. They were there just to kill the hornets, not to remove the nest. When we expressed our displeasure, they responded quickly and to our satisfaction. We still, of course, have to find someone to remove the nest, but at least the stingers are gone.

Weve used Tomlinson Bomberger quite a few times over the past ten years and were always pleased with their work until the recent job they performed for us.Im not sure what changed within the company but it seems the quality of the work has deteriorated. We were disappointed with the work that was recently performed. They seemed to rush and did return to improve the work but it still wasnt up to the high standard that we have experienced in the past.Bob K. - we miss you. We had yellow jackets in our house wall. They scheduled an appointment quickly arrived on time and took care of the problem. The technician was polite and explained what he would do and cleaned away the overspray. It has been several weeks and the pests are gone.

We had some concerns about our trees and if they needed treated? Jeanette came out and explained what needed to be done. She was very knowledgeable and gave great advice. I highly recommend their services.

We had carpenter ants In our house, black spiders in our basement, voles tunneling in our yard, and yellow jackets making a nest in our outside chimney mortar. Three different pest control technicians have visited our house to diagnose and treat these pests. It’s been three weeks since the first treatments were administered, and we’ve seen a noticeable decline in the appearance of these unwanted pests. We highly recommend Tom Bom for any pest control needs!

In process of having extensive landscaping and new walkway placed. lt was as though I was questioned several times during the estimate process as to whether I could afford the work I wanted done, despite readily making a 1/3 deposit on the work. Asked many questions via email as follow up to the proposed project, very few to none of my questions answered. Very difficult to get ahold of anyone via phone or email. Wishing I had chosen another company. Seems as though they cant be bothered with my small (approx $8000, but still waiting for an estimate on half the project, over 2 months later) project. Hopefully actual work is far better than customer service.

Made contact last year about an issue with one of my oak tress. They diagnosed the tree as iron deficient. Signed a two year contract and paid the two years in advance for treatment. In June the tree looked worse, I emailed my representative, we reviewed the plan. Part of what I paid for was a soil sample. I requested a copy of the sample results. They could not produce a copy of the results for the test, makes me think the sample was never conducted. I reached out to another tree company for another opinion The tree was diagnosed with bacterial leaf scorch, deadly to the tree. At this point the tree is all but bare and not worth saving. At no point did I fell as a customer that I mattered. I canceled the contract and any further service from this company.They have gotten so large that a small customer like myself doesnt matter if I go away. They dont even care as to the reason for my cancellation. Will not use there service again. As a side note this is not the first time I experienced issues with this company.

This is our third year using TomBom and our yard and shrubbery has never looked better! We previously used Tru Green. Today landscape edging was installed and mulching done. This is the first time using a lawn service. Just recently moved to a new home, and decided to start right, right off the bat with our lawn. This past spring, our lawn looked like a golf course. Beautiful. Then as summer came, we had a lawn disease. Killed nearly all our grass. It looked like the Arazona desert. We called Tomlinson Bombergers. They made an assessment, gave us an estimate, and a date for which they would come out and do the work. They aerated and reseeded our lawn. They told us how to take it from there. We watered faithfully, and our lawn came back almost 100%.They are faithful, dependable and do great work. They will make your lawn looking good.

A neighbor gave us this lawn care contact information, not having used them before. I had high hopes because of their initial customer service. They made it sound like everything would be taken care of immediately. I couldn’t be more disappointed.They checked out our tree the day after I called, but never sent me the email quote I asked for. I called in several times following that, explaining I travel quite a bit and wanted to get it taken care of before I leave for another international trip. They said they’d be in contact within 2 days. Regardless of my voicemails, didn’t get a call back until over 2 weeks later. I requested my email quote again and further communication to be via email as I would be out of the country and my phone wouldn’t be working. No quote and no email.I set up email notification for my mail since I’d be out of the country, and find out they sent the quote via mail. Because of this, I paid for an international phone plan for the day to explain once again that I needed it via email. I had to do this numerous times to no avail. It has now been over a month. I’ve probably spoken to 5 different people on countless occasions about a quote that’s already been made and just needs to be forwarded via email.I understand that there might be some sort of complication or it even just takes a while. I’d just like an explanation of what’s going on. All of this is actually tolerable to me but the one thing I was most disappointed by was one very rude receptionist. Everyone else was rather pleasant and polite, but this one woman wouldn’t even let me finish a sentence after answering the phone. I asked if I could leave a brief message with her along with my email address because voicemail clearly wasn’t working out and my phone wouldn’t be working soon, or at least I tried to ask but she cut me off because she couldn’t be bothered to listen since it’s not in her job description to take notes for the sales reps or talk to a customer about who they should be forwarded to. Additionally, she would just hang up before I could even ask a question. Even a coworker of mine who heard her on speaker was shocked.Some things take time, sometimes things come up, and that’s all okay. I’ve complicated the situation too with my own traveling circumstances, but hey, let’s at least teach employees to be a little less snippy and a bit more polite, yeah?

I recently purchased a home in a neighborhood where almost everyone uses Tomlinson Bomberger for their lawn maintenance needs. Unfortunately, the previous owners had not kept up with the landscaping. I contacted Tomlinson Bomberger for a full service estimate. The gentleman who visited our home treated me as if I were complete trash. He said things such as “this place just doesn’t look like it belongs in this neighborhood” and “what a mess”. When I asked him if he would be willing to prepare an estimate he explained that an estimate this large would take a significant amount of time to write up and that he would rather not waste his time or mine. He went on to explain that even if he did write up an estimate it would be very expensive as they are a “high end” landscaper. I felt as if he was insinuating that I would not have the means to pay. I’m attending a neighborhood function this weekend and am interested in finding out if anyone else has had a similar experience. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own backyard!

Have used them for about 4 years. They were good the first two years but things have definitely gone downhill since. Excuses are: we have the wrong kind of grass (really?); we have a (little) dog; stuff comes off our neighbors and they cant really do much about that; and the latest ... we have disease. So if you have regular grass, neighbors, or a dog, i think youre doomed. We possibly do have some disease in our yard, but that doesnt speak to the amount of weeds in the yards and all of the nut grass (especially in areas there is no run-off from neighbors). Youd think 5 services a year would do something about the weeds. Guess not.

I switched lawn care services this spring to Tomlinson and Bomberger. First, before I signed with them, they sent a representative out to access my lawn care needs and made valuable recommendations.We had the first treatment a week or so ago and I am very impressed with the initial results! Also after the treatment was laid, I received a form in the mail with details of what they did and who did it, along along with the individuals professional history. Very informative!I gave TB 5 stars because they have far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this service!

Full disclosure - I work here. Its a great place to work. People treat one another with more respect than anywhere Ive ever worked. They look for talent and promote from within. They really take pride in their work, and in treating clients the best way possible. I can speak to that from experience, as Im also a client.

OMG! The unprofesionalism of this team is one of very few I encounter in my life. They dont email you the quotes they promise. They dont even return your calls. I called three times to the person who came to my home for an estimate of a pretty involved job and never returned a call nor ever sent the estimate.When I email him and CC the two owners of the company, they didnt even return the email either.STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! There lack of professionalism and care toward new customers is one I have never seen.

Not sure how to rate this one, Ill only state that I got routed to a third number and no one answered. It was such a simple question. This is worst than calling the Pentagon. Have a good day.

Update on 6/15/18 from previous review below: I tried to pay my balance for the one time mosquito application online and the message I get is that I do not have an account. I called in to pay and the person that took my credit card information says that there is only one person able to run payments so she just wrote down my credit card information and will run it at a later time. I hope they do not misplace my information. I am going to have to cancel that credit card since at this point I do not trust this company at all. I will make a report about this.Do not recommend. Called this co. since I got a pamphlet in my mailbox was told they didn’t service my area then got a call back saying that they do service my area. I asked about mosquito services was told by Ron the price and frequency and that if I needed a treatment in between I could call and set it up for no additional cost. Not even two weeks after the first application I am in need of another treatment which makes me wonder about the potency of their product. I called to set up an in between treatment and was told by Matt that there is no such thing that Ron “ needs straightened out” since Ron gave me wrong information and that the next treatment won’t be for another 4 to 6 weeks! If I wanted an in between treatment I needed to pay for it.I had also set up a date and time for Ron to come and assess my lawn/tree needs. He never showed up. When I contacted Ron he said he forgot about my appointment. Very disappointed.

Great to deal with with reasonable quote

The are our pest control at John Wright Restaurant and we couldnt be happier! Being so close to the river pest should be an issue but have never been. They are more than responsive and super professional. I will never use anyone else and recommend them for any situation.

They are treating my crabapple tree. It had applescab disease. Last year was the first time my tree was beautiful all summer. It was loaded with apples. This fall I had a family of deer in my yard feasting on the apples. They do great work.

A bit higher than Trugreen or Weedman, but very customer oriented.

We havent decided yet if we plan on using their service for our lawncare needs, but the person who assisted me on the phone to set up the consultation and the gentleman who came to my house for the estimate/quote were both very friendly and knowledgeable.

I dislike this company. Have been using them for 5 years and will be switching.Pros:The lawn care is good. Our grass/lawn is beautiful. Also, we get our yard sprayed for bugs and that has helped significantly decrease mosquitos and other bugs.Cons:They are expensive and landscaping sucks! We had one of their landscapers come do an assessment and discuss with me what I wanted done. I needed removal of shrubs, the yard regraded, and seeding. He gave me the estimate which was expensive however the work he explained that needed done made it seem a fare price. BUT I did not get anything like what we discussed. I was so upset with the beyond poor job my husband called and insisted they come look at it. The landscaper came out and did agree it was not done properly and would fix it. Staff came out again and it still was not done correctly. I paid over $700 for a couple wheelbarrows full of dirt and some seed. I could have done that myself.We then paid another company the exact same amount and they did an amazing job!

He, and those with whom he works, have always been patient with my questions and concerns with the current landscaping needs of my property, and with future plans.When a beloved elm tree lost a major limb in this winters ice storm, Ron was so quick with response time, and gave a personal touch to the removal and cleanup. The crew was efficient and left the yard in good order. The tree is in bloom again, and I thank Tomlinson Bomberger for saving it.Seasonal insects are no longer a problem, thanks to diligent care from our technician. He is so friendly and ready to answer questions about the work, as well.I would recommend anyone looking for a good lawn care, landscaping and pest control service to give Tomlinson Bomberger a call.

I appreciate how conscientious my lawn care technician, Josh, is when he performs the treatments. He knocks on the door each time, explains what will be done, answers my questions, and then covers every inch of my lawn. Im fussy and he always smiles and seems to be loving his work. Oh, and my lawn is seriously the nicest one on the block.

I wanted to share about my experience with my service-man, Chris, and this company.I’d been so frustrated with a flea situation that I couldnt get under control on my own (despite NO indoor pets & mostly hardwood floors!) and called Tomlinson Bomberger. Chris arrived on time. He was polite, to the point, personable, and listened to me. He has a good sense of humor too. He let me know what to expect and went over what he was going to do to the extent that a layperson needed to know. He told me that I may see a few straggler fleas but they would be gone soon.I got home late Tuesday and put on my usual high white socks (yes that’s what I’d been traipsing around the house in for weeks so I could pick the little buggers off!) I saw one flea within the hour. I was a little discouraged but remembered what Chris said. I saw no further fleas the rest of the night.No fleas on Wednesday. None.No fleas this morning getting ready for work. Zero zip nadaNot only that…. All around our house bugs were dying. Falling off the siding, literally sliding down the siding. In the thousands. That is no exaggeration. Chris also treated part of the inside of our garage where I told him a stray kitten has been hiding out, he treated part of our yard, and set mouse traps.Your company gets a 10 out of 10 and give Chris an 11 out of 10 and a raise. It’s not often service people display such great customer service and good people skills.

Tomilson Bomberger does a good job. They pressure spray the outside of my house and that elimates pest getting in side. Bait boxes are set outside and in the garage to elimate pests.

Fertilization & Weed Control Service is ineffective to say the least. Spring applications were spread during heavy rain making pre-emergent crabgrass completely useless. Summer application as very hit and miss and the two operators seemed to care less. We are in a condo association they serve and our yards are near 100% crabgrass.8/29/18 contacted by company very quickly and awaiting outcome. I will update as this progresses. Did here from them that they were discussing “what to do” and that it needs attention.9/12/18 Now a couple weeks and have not heard back any results or final decision.

Filled out their online request form with all the details needed so they could quote removing a tree for me. Received a voicemail that I needed to call their office to schedule an estimate. (then what is the point of the online form?!?!) Called the office and read them the details that I submitted online. Someone then came out and gave me a quote. A few days later I got a rude voicemail from someone different saying since you never called us back, Ill stop by and give you a quote anyway. A quote then showed up in my mailbox that was $50 more than the first quote they gave me. I ended up using another local firm who was cheaper and easier to work with.

Weve been using Tomlinson Bomberger for a number of years - I love it when I actually mow grass and not weeds. They keep my neighbors weeds in their own yards! I appreciate that they do not try to over sell with products and treatments... they listen and only offer advice if requested. Thanks for the beautiful lawn!

Tomlinson Bomberger has serviced our home for about 3 years since the first time we saw an ant, and have rarely seen one since. If we do, all we have to do is call and theyre out within a day or so to treat again (included in our annual fee). This summer, we tried the mosquito treatment for our backyard (which we had been unable to enjoy for several seasons) and finally enjoyed the outdoors again this year, mosquito free! It was an inexpensive addition to our annual retainer, and well worth it. Our technician Frank is great - he always brings a treat for our dog too!

Super friendly customer service and easy to request a service. We needed some pest control and the service tech was extremely knowledgable and very friendly. He took his time to find a Wasp nest behind our siding, set up traps in places I dont even notice. We had some ants come back after they came out (Which is very typical) and Tomlinson Bomberger came back out right away to spray again.

We had a new home built 25 years ago and landscaped at that time. Last year it was obvious the hedges, bushes and trees were too large and in need of replacement. We trusted Tomlinson Bomberger to do the job. They worked with us to come up with a plan that both fit our budget and beautified our property. They did a great job in showing us a layout with colorized plants and shrubs and even incorporated some rocks to highlight different areas in front of our home. It was a very worthwhile investment. Neighbors and friends continue to comment on the great difference in the overall appearance of our property. I would have no problem giving Tomlinson Bomberger a solid reference.

This was my first time using a lawn care service and my lawn has never been happier! Thanks to Matt Lowe (Account Manager) and Steve (Lawncare Technician) the dandelions are gone and the clover seems to be on its way out as well. Very simple and straightforward service, highly recommended!

Listened to the service guy they sent and now have a worse problem than before! Let me back up. Called to have evergreens sprayed for bag worms when I noticed a middle tree starting to brown in a row of evergreens we use as a privacy fence. I saw large bags hanging so told them I needs sprayed for bag worms. The tech came out, looked at the trees and told me there is no activity and the brown is just heat damage. He told me to get a attachment for my hose and soak the tree each day. I have been doing that and the tree gets worse and worse. I finally climbed behind the pond myself and take a good look. There are hundreds of little worms going to town on the leaves. At this point the tree is beyond repair. I should have never listened and am extremely upset that I call for service, they do not do it and in fact tell me to wait and now it will cost much more to replace a evergreen than it would have to save it. I can not believe the tech did not know what he is doing and have even taken a video of the little worms and wish I could post that as well.

I used Tomlinson Bomberger for yard fertilization for at least a dozen years and I was always impressed with the way my yard looked.I needed to update my front yard landscape, so I gave them a call and they gave me a fair price, removed my old shrubbery and replaced it with a beautiful updated look.I cant stop looking at my new landscape. It made my house look at least 30 yrs newer.

This review is in regards to their lawn service. I was highly dissatisfied with their service and would not recommend them to anyone. I was looking for a local lawn care service instead of the national companies and decided to give Tomlinson bomberger a try. This was definitely the wrong choice and I should have known better than to go with them when my initial consultation was cancelled because the guy decided to check out my lawn earlier in the day when I wasnt around because he was already in the area. They dont call prior to an application to let you know when the service is scheduled to give you a chance to remove anything from the lawn for the technician. I had some Halloween decorations ruined last year because of this as the fertilizer was spread all over them and stained them. Also beware that they have a minimum price set they charge for their lawn service packages no matter how small your lawn coverage and their prices are much higher than other companies. I had enough after only one year and cancelled the lawn service through them. There are many other local companies who would be a better choice for your lawn care needs.

They do professional work. They examine the trees carefully to see what to remove, trim, or provide cable support. They explain their proposal carefully and patiently. They have tree climbers and a cherry picker depending on the need of the property. Our trees look good and are trimmed to prevent damage from wind and ice. I appreciate their work.

Although we live in York, we chose T-B because of their professionalism, expertise, and concern for the environment. We have used them for lawn care, landscaping maintenance, and pest control for over 10 years. Their prices are competitive!

When we hired Tomlinson Bomberger to design and install several areas we were hoping they could get it done for a party on 11/1. Due to weather conditions it did not look like it was going to happen; however, Jeanette showed up with three crews on 10/31 and transformed two large areas which was a lot of work. We cannot say enough about how professional Jeanette handled the project and ALL of the crew members were excellent. We have never seen a more hands on sales person who literally stayed on site throughout the day to make sure everything was done properly. My wife and I were both so impressed and in fact will be hiring Tomlinson Bomberger in the spring to do the rear yard area. Anyone who thinks they can get someone cheaper will learn that you get what you pay for. In our case we feel we got a tremendous value for our dollar. Definitely a 5 star company.

I have enjoyed using Tomlinson Bomberger Lawn service for over 10 years. They are environmentally friendly, as they dont create any problems to the ground or groundwater. They customize their service with your lawns needs, and they allow you to make decisions in payment for their work. I moved into a home last fall and the yard was a mess. Tomlinson Bomberger is a member of the Building Industry Association as well as several other professtional organizations--they came highly recommended with great referrals. The lawn has improved dramatically in this past year, and will only look better moving forward. I plan to add tree care to my program, too. I keep thinking I can do all this myself; I can, but in this case its better to hire a professional. Keep up the great work!

TomBom has taken excellent care of my lawn, I do not fear having any of the crew do any work as I did with the previous company. If I am home when the tech arrives, they always stop and greet me, and tell me exactly what was done and what to expect. After doing a half-assed job on aerating and seeding my back yard; and me calling to complain and canceling my service; they showed up today to service my yard. And, damaging what little new grass that had started growing. Plus, the tires on the machine tore up what good grass I had growing. Doesnt anyone use their heads over there? What a poorly run organization. 0 communication.

Last year was my first year using Tom/Bom for my lawn service. I was very pleased with the service they provided. The technician who service my lawn was very good to work with. I was usually home when he did the service. He always explained things and answered any questions I had. When he came for one of the service treatments, he suggested that he not do the weed control service because I did not need it. So instead of doing something I did not need, I got a credit for the service. Despite the fact that I had their grub control service (and through no fault of theirs), I wound up with some grub damage. The technician returned and retreated the lawn. They also sent a crew to repair the damaged spots in my lawn. They did an outstanding job with the repair. I had previously had grub damage while being service by a different company and their repair for the damage was nothing compared to what the Tom/Bom people did. Naturally I have signed up for the service again next year.

Ever since I moved to Lancaster 7 years ago TB has performed all my landscaping, tree service, mulching and pest control. Bob K. and all the team at TB are the best and a pleasure to work with. I will continue to use them and if you havent used them try.... do!

Had a series of problems with Tru green. They killed patches of my lawn and then failed to follow through with the repairs. I brought in TomBom this year and they have been amazing! Their technicians are professional and knowledgeable, my account manager is always quick to respond to any questions I have, and their reception staff is top notch.After a year of service, my lawn and landscaping look absolutely phenomenal! I have two dogs and the lawn is still full and lush despite their best efforts to destroy it. TomBom is worth every penny.

I have the tree service , and my treatments are done after the fact that I have a problem . That is when Iam told they cannot do anything for my problem this year but next year they can do 2 applications at 175.00 to work on this problem. I disslike when your shoved to the last on the list to get service and It is after the fact ,you have a problem.

Did an excellent core aeration to my lawn. Were on time, closed all gates, and treated the landscape with respect.
