Just used they range. Distances could be marked better, but good grass, nice chipping area. Putting green is great condition but way too much movement!!!

This is a great golf course! I read the reviews of many others and I thought they were spot on. The course was in excellent shape. It is challenging but fair. Everyone we spoke to at the course was friendly and helpful. If I ever find myself there, I would definitely play there again.

Nice course but expensive. Marshall is always rude telling you to pick up pace or they will make you skip holes. Would be fine, however, they do it even when you are ahead of pace.

Agree with previous post about not being average golfer friendly. First time I played the course today. Pretty course with a mixture of hard and easy holes. Open course, so missing the fairway on most holes is not a death sentence. There are marshals on almost every hole. Felt like Big Brother was always there. I am not the fastest player, but I do understand the need to keep up the pace of play and make efforts to keep moving along. I was playing as part of a threesome when I hit a ball into a creek, I played a second dropped ball then to the creek to get my lost ball with a ball retriever. Range marshal came on the course to tell us we needed to hurry up since we were holding up play. No one was on the tees behind us and the group in front was just leaving the green. I doubt I will be back since I did not feel welcome from check in to the time I left.

An excellent public course! (This was 1st time that I have played this course)The Good:1. Top-notch greens that were receptive to good approach shots, but putted true and medium-fast. There was not a bad spot or unwanted growth on any green (as should be expected from a $60 a person price).2. Putting green was comparable to the actual greens on the course (many courses they are not)3. Good length options from 5 tee placements out to 7,200 yards.4. Good undulation on greens, though most funnel to the center and front.5. Good soft, and very playable, sand in the bunkers.6. Decently priced candy bars and powerade (for a golf course food cart)The Average:1. Average fairways.2. While mature trees line all fairways, the branches have been trimmed up to around 25 feet above the ground, which makes the course more open, and far less of a penalty in missing the fairways. (this may be a good thing for someone who misses the fairway consistently, but it does not penalize bad shots for someone playing a semi-competitive round of golf with scores in the 70s, because shots can roll into an opposing fairway and leave an equally good approach angle on dog-leg holes)3. Course layout maximized the two creeks as hazards on several holes, and a dammed section made a pond to hit over off of one tee box with 240 yards of carry required to clear it when using back tees (course setup is on a rectangular piece of property so layout is limited to a typical layout by that).4. For an East Tennessee course it does not have the drastic elevation changes that many courses offer, but it is not a flat course by any means. The Bad (bad may be too strong of an adjective, as I did not dislike any part of the round):1. No signature hole. While the course is fun and challenging in places, there is no single place on the course that is majestic, intimidating, or even really all that exciting.2. Pace of play is a little over emphasized. Despite going off in the second group of the morning and playing in the 70s and one in the 80s and never seeing a group on the tee-box behind us, while we were still in the fairway, the ranger told us that we were 12 minutes behind pace on the 7th hole and that the course would catch us. The ranger was professional and did have a sense of humor so I was not aggravated by this. I do indeed get frustrated playing behind very slow groups...but we were not playing slowly at all. So I assume that he put everyone on the clock on the front nine to motivate them to stay playing with a sense of purpose as they get to the turn and begin the back half. But I guarantee you honestly scored rounds of 74 and 84 are not too slow for any course.3. Driving range was set on front tee area, so many drives went further than the range onto the fairway behind it. You shouldnt have to go all dodge-ball in a fairway. And this is an easy fix by placing a net along the back of the driving range (like many course do).Summary:A fairly priced course that has excellent PGA-caliber greens (the one time I played it), a fun and challenging layout, playable bunkers, mostly open tee-shots despite the trees, with water hazard along several holes; but lacks any moving aesthetics or a singularly memorable hole.

Beautiful course. NOT AVERAGE PLAYER FRIENDLY!! If you are used to playing other courses, before playing this course you really need to let the course rules sink in. My buddy left a cart path on a par 3. Then I did it myself not thinking. WELL you would have thought I was doing doughnuts on the greens the way he (the ranger) talk to us. Actually was getting LOUD. Anger management. Im just saying! We couldnt even finish our $49.00 golf round we were so rattled. Beware! Its like playing on egg shells over there. Big Brother IS WATCHING YOU. We complained the cashier he seemed embarrassed about the whole thing. He gave us a free round and apologized. We will not return.
