It’s a great place to take the kids. The price can’t be beat and the service by the volunteers is outstanding. Not only are they friendly and caring but they also seem to have very good time and take joy in what they do. The train is a great activity for the kids and it’s neat because there are several versions of the train that they can ride in. Just need to see which train we have on the track that day.

We went for a walk today on the Line Creek Trail off Waukomis Dr. and saw a sign for the train rides. My 2 year old son loves trains so we thought we would give it a try and we sure were glad we did. Each ride is 75 cents or you can get a 10-pack of rides for $6.50. Each ride consisted of two laps around the track and the track had a small bridge and tunnel. The train moves at a decent pace and the train whistle and bells sounded great. Also, the staff were very nice and informative. I believe the hours are during the weekends only (noon to 6) as the train is staffed with volinteers. We will be back and ride again soon!

If you have a train lover in your family you have to make a visit. $0.75 will get you a ride on the minature train that your kids will love. The volunteers at the park make for a very welcoming and friendly environment. This place is cash only and I would recommend not going when it is too hot.

Just 75 cents a ride on a miniature train. Not a toy train, a miniature real locomotive. My husband and I are larger adults and enjoyed the ride with our son. My whole family enjoyed this. The volunteers are amazing and wonderful with the children.

The best 75 cents Ive ever spent! This is a fun small gauge passenger railroad that is great for anyone who enjoys trains. One can even rent it out for parties. Standard fair is twice around the loop, there is a tunnel and small bridge.

Themed playground and twice around the track for 75 ¢. Had a great outing with our preschool aged granddaughter. Concessions may have made it an all star day but now that we know, we can bring a picnic. This activity is located next to a community center with a large playground that we did not have time to explore.

For the little ones it never gets old. Attending the train day festival amped up the norm. My grandson is intrigued by possibilities of operating a train as he gets older. Volunteers are welcome to join the club and promote the pastime, 18 and old but younger with an adult!

The kids absolutely love the miniature train ride through the park (the grownups love it too!) and its very affordable. The guys that work on the train are great and very knowledgeable about the trains. Next door is a playground to top off your visit. I really wish the trains ran during the week, but they are only there on weekends through the summer months.

I came here two weeks ago exactly to walk around after hours. Although it wasnt the same to walk around the track rather than ride a train around it, I still enjoyed myself. I screamed when I went through the tunnel (even though I could see the other side). The grass here is very good. I sniffed it and it smelled kind of like mud, but the grass smell was overall pretty great. It was exceptionally green, like the color of Kermit the Frog and Shrek mixed together but if that were better. Which tells you just how great a green that is. The grass also tasted like a spring salad, which is the mark of great grass. Unfortunately, when I leaned down to listen to it, the grass whispered no secrets to me. Although this is a mark against the Line Creek Train, it was such a minor issue that it didnt overshadow my experience. The tunnel was black in color, I would say very black. It was pretty wide, and I would say wider and taller than it needs to be, though I am no train expert. The tunnel was very scary and long and I would say that this train ride is not for the faint of heart.Although I went after hours so I didnt talk to any of the volunteers, I did talk to a local dog, who told me that the volunteers here are hard-working and good people, and so I will also say that the service was very good. The sky here is highly visible, which I consider to be an essential part of any train. It was a pretty good portion of sky, because it was really blue, and there were a lot of clouds which were NOT storm clouds, but the GOOD kind of clouds. One of them shaped like a donkey which added a lot to my opinion of the Line Creek Train. Finally, the bricks at the building were a perfect brick red color. They smelled like sand, which is the ideal smell for bricks. The cracks were very nice and aesthetically pleasing. They were rough in texture but not so rough that I hurt my bare feet. They sounded like bricks. They were perfectly brick-like and the level of air bubbles in the bricks was ideal.Im sorry to talk to much about these amazing bricks, but the bricks here really remind me of the bricks at Olive Garden, which, as everyone knows, are the quintessential bricks. The superior bricks. Olive Garden bricks are the peak brick form. Im sorry if you dont like it, but its true. If you dont agree, youre wrong. But I digress. This experience was perfect. The grass was ideal except for that it does not, I repeat, does not whisper its secrets to you. The tunnel was appropriately scary and I was told that the volunteers are dedicated. Finally, the bricks are in my Top Three Bricks of all time. Overall, the atmosphere was good. 10/10 train ride.

Have not been here in over 10 years. Went for a kids birthday party and asked myself how could I have forgotten about this place? It is a true hidden gem in KC! So much park space for picnics right across from the train station! We enjoyed food as we watched others ride the rails all around us. Rides are $0.75, so very easy to have the little once circle the tracks numerous times without breaking the bank. Definitely advise one to bring a canopy or two and lawn chairs. Best afternoon spent outdoors in a long time!
