Absolutely exquisite gallery filled with striking, museum-quality antiques. The pieces are carefully curated by the owner for their quality and historical significance, and the amount of care and passion that goes into the collection is obvious in the way he talks about the pieces. Each one has a story that makes it as meaningful as it is beautiful.Besides the pieces, the owner is the most impressive part of this gallery. He knows each piece intimately, and he will captivate you with their stories as he highlights the features and details that make them unique and magnificent. He has devoted himself to his work with a level of dedication and determination that is extremely rare, and his enthusiasm is infectious. He has done an incredible amount of work to source some of the best examples of French antiques in existence, and his transparency, knowledge, and commitment to authenticity and quality are unparalleled. This gallery and everything in it are a magical blend of art, history, and beauty. You will leave either with a new appreciation for French antiques or with the most stunning and significant piece of furniture you’ve ever owned.

Walked in on a whim, walked out wishing I could buy the whole place. This is a one-of-a-kind antique dealership, absolutely not to be missed!! The shop is filled with an exquisite furniture collection that the owner, Cole, personally purchases in France and curates for display. While we explored, Cole gave us a fun and deeply fascinating crash course on the history and artistry of various pieces. It was extremely clear that he not only knows his trade, but is truly passionate about it. Whether you are a French furniture buff or not, I highly recommend dropping by Myers & Monroe whenever you visit Kansas City!

I have been to many galleries, but none like this one. Stunning French pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries, beautifully presented and represented by Cole, who has a vast knowledge of each and every piece he sells. If it is in Coles gallery, it is one of the worlds rarest pieces. Thank you, Cole for your passion and incredible historical knowledge.

I think this has to be the best place to see on first Fridays. I had personally never seen antiques like what they have in this gallery. All the pieces are magical and the space is breathtaking. It all comes from France and there are piles of museum crates everywhere. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in serious interior design, antiques or art in general. Great hidden gem of KC!

Myers and Monroe’s collection of antiques tells the fascinating history of France through the lens of furniture. His pieces are carefully chosen, his prices are extremely competitive, and his collection is truly one of the best in the US. As an interior designer, I would love to see one of his pieces in our clients homes. How amazing to own a piece of living history? Cole knows his antiques like old friends and is passionate about what he does. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or interested in collecting antiques but don’t know where to begin, I would highly recommend a visit to Myers and Monroe.

Myers & Monroe is a must-visit if you are in Kansas City.Best gallery in the city by far. This is an art gallery and museum all-in-one. The pieces are exquisite. The space is amazing. The owner/curator is one of the most interesting and gracious people you will ever meet. Never knew how fascinating furniture could be until l visited M&M. Cannot believe a place this cool exists in my hometown.Even if you are not looking to buy, it is well worth a visit just to see the truly museum-quality furniture. The combination of history, functionality and artistic achievement will leave you in awe.

This is an amazing gallery. The ceramic work on the main level is made by local and nationally known artists. Myers & Monroe is on the top floor where I bought the nicest pieces of furniture I own. For instance, the desk I bought is identical in period and style to the one President Monroe brought back from France in the late 1790s (on which he later drafted the Monroe Doctrine protecting North and South America from invaders). I now own an exquisite piece of useful art that is a fundamental part of American History. I cannot thank Cole enough for how much his efforts have enhanced my life and my home.

I was impressed to say the least. A very clean and modern space, providing a perfect environment for these beautiful antiques. The young Mr. Myers has a base of knowledge that I would expect from a seasoned expert twice his age. He took me on a journey through the history of French art through furniture that was exquisite, to say the least. The Perrier flowed like Champagne (Even the water is French!). Where else in the Midwest could I hope to find such an interesting collection? While I dropped in on a whim, I ended up with some small pieces and one large piece. Of course, this snap judgement forced me to explain to my wife why a moving truck was parked in our driveway the following weekend. Luckily she understood why I absolutely had to have a new Chaise lounge for our formal sitting room. Mr. Myers was even kind enough to redact the price from my invoice so that I did not have to do too much explaining. I will be back soon to see the new collection that he has incoming! I only snapped one photo, but I think that it encompasses the charmingly austere floor where I became acquainted with my newfound passion for antique French furniture. Thanks for the new addiction, Mr. Myers!

Where do I start? This is the finest collection of circa 17th century French furniture in the nation next to a prestigious art museum. The owner, who is well studied in the historic significance of every piece, has gone to marvelous lengths to bring these brief glimpses of a fading French royal society. From the countryside estates of long forgotten nobles to the nefarious under dwellings of an antiquities auction to, finally, be transported across the Atlantic to be enjoyed by the humble Midwest for an affordable price. It’s worth a visit or five.

Recently, I purchased the pair of Louis XVI Period Armchairs from Myers & Monroe, located in the Bredin-Lee Gallery in Kansas City’s Crossroads Art District. I have been a regular visitor of the showroom on First Friday’s and Cole Myers, the owner, is truly an expert in French Period furniture. His knowledge of the history and craftsmanship of each piece is both extraordinary and impressive. It is always a pleasure to hear his stories of how he discovers, hand-selects, and ships each unique piece of furniture from France to the US, like the Louis XVI chairs I am now the happy owner of. He takes the time and care to greet each visitor to the showroom, answered all my questions, and even provided documents of authenticity for me, as well. I am so thrilled to now enjoy these stunning chairs, which are really works of art, in my home. Thank you so much Cole!

Cole has spent most of the past decade sourcing the finest existing specimens of mid-seventeenth to early nineteenth century furniture from France. He has spent the majority of that time in-country living and honing his craft. His knowledge of period detail is unrivaled in this region of the Untied States, and his pricing is extremely reasonable. He knows what great customer service is all about!

I recently purchased the Charles X period “boat bed” from Myers and Monroe, located in the Bredin-Lee Gallery in the Crossroads Art District. I visited the showroom on several first Fridays and each time the owner, Cole Myers, remembered me and greeted me enthusiastically. What impressed me most is Coles knowledge and expertise of French Period furniture. He took the time to answer all my questions, sharing his knowledge of the history and detailed craftsmanship of the bed. He even provided documentation of authenticity. It was a joy to listen to the story of how he discovered this piece and the complex process of shipping this antique to the US, no easy feat! The furniture pieces are competitively priced; offering a first time buyer the chance to begin their art collection. That was me and I now enjoy this beautiful bed, a work of art, every day in my home. Thank you Cole.

Cole has a beautiful gallery of handcrafted furniture. He spends months every year scouring France for obscure antique pieces. The way he talks about every minute detail shows you the time he takes in hand picking his furniture. Everything from tiny mirrors to ten-foot-tall cabinets has an amazing backstory that he would love to tell you if you ask. Its truly a great addition to First Fridays.

I was exceptionally impressed with the furniture gallery at Myers and Monroe. I was caught very off-guard by coles passion, knowledge, and expertise as well as his canny ability to find these hidden gems in Europe. He brings exceptional and impressive historic power furniture from overseas and it is just breathe taking. Even better, while I expected sticker shock... the price wasnt any higher than your typical retail furniture... however I think his furniture is done depreciating. Im lucky he doesnt charge more, because he should.
