Had a great time with my Queen. Open air and plenty of space to enjoy yourself without a mask.
It was nice to bring my son here recently! You can park and walk the path around to the fountain and then up under the bridge. There is beautiful mosaic art work under the bridge that makes for a beautiful photo opp.
Ive been coming here since I was a baby when it still had all the designs of Taylor Hardwick, and it was nice to bring my daughter here recently!Open the water works lookout back up! It is a lovely feature that isnt being used.
This place is gorgeous! You can park and walk the path around to the fountain and then up under the bridge. There is beautiful mosaic art work under the bridge that makes for a beautiful photo opp. Along the walkway are benches and street lights which also make a great photo opp or a nice place to rest. We went at night between 9-10pm and felt safe. There were others out walking around..of course be careful and pay attention to your surroundings. I wouldnt go out there alone at night but with a group or someone else its perfect.
Maybe because of COVID19 the area wasnt kept well but the views from this place are amazing. The water fountain didnt look as appealing but being able to go under the bridge was definitely a nice adventure. They have a little mosaic on the wall there where you can take nice pictures. I would probably recommend going during sunset.
Nice scenery. A very safe place to workout mid mornings in the weekend. Crowded enough with good people to feel safe and few enough for people to spread far apart to stay healthy.
Absolutely stunning skyline. As an arts enthusiastic.. Friendship fountain is really cool.
This place is gorgeous! Beautiful spot to walk around the fountain take pictures watch a sunset.
Very peaceful. Nice to go if youre on a date trying to get to know each other.
I have been many times to this place. Nice walk on the beach. It got busy.
Great atmosphere. Clean and hip. Weather is always nice there.
All fountains werent on I was a tad bit upset. Was my last day here in Jacksonville was looking fwd to it.
Nice Food and People but there some spot are very dusty.
Always a nice peaceful place to hang out and great events.
Love Friendship Fountain, been going since the 70s from a fieldtrip from Ortega Elementary
Its a shell of its former glory. The lights are no longer operational and a majority of the fountains are off.
Romantic and peaceful a place for great walks and life reflections!!
Its was ok but i remember when the water comes on a America music plays
Was clean and at this place you just want to go sit by the water and relax
Very nice place to chill at outside. The fountain is beautiful when lit at night. The surrounding art adds to the beauty of the fountain. Nice riverside spot.
This is a beautiful and peaceful park on the riverside. It has fantastic views of the major Jacksonville bridges, the city skyline, and the river. You can watch the sunset while here. There is a nice path that goes under the main street bridge and follows along the river. Its a great place for family outings or a photoshoot.
Nice place to relax, exercise, take boat rides plus it has security on site.
Everytime we go never see the fountains on and the less fortunate be in the water looking for coins. The homeless be informational sometimes so I dont mind them.
Been going since the 80sso its nostalgic
Nice but a little grimey. Careful of the people there
Parking was $5. We took a ride on the water taxi for $10 each. The pass was good for the day. Nice picnic area next to the fountain with plenty of shade. Easy access to the river walk way and next door is the museum of science and history as well as River City Brewing Co and marina. Great beer and food.
I love the water its peaceful quiet and seeing the dolphins at night is real cool
Fountains are nice and view is pretty. Somewhat overrun with homeless folks - takes away from it.
One of the most beautiful places in Duval County. The view is amazing. Also a very nice place for a date.
I thought it was worth the visit, although I wouldnt really travel far to visit this place in particular. However, if you are in the area, I would say stop by and see it. Between the fountain itself and the views along the river, it is actually beautiful.
Easy to get to. Lots of parking. No shelter from rain though. I was kinda bummed.
Nothing much about the fountain. The lift bridge at night is beautiful.
Such a peaceful place to walk aroundNight time is definitely more beautiful to see the city view
A lovely tourist attraction in the city near museums and Riverwalk. Nice area for a picnic. Clean and well kept. A Brewhouse nearby but happened to be closed the day I was there. Great photo ops, very pretty fountains.
Pretty area but fountain not as grand as description indicated.
I absolutely love the scenery and the atmosphere here..Its a fresh breath of air.
No life, the fountain was close. Only good for take a pic
Its a good place to go on a walk, but its list not all that entertaining, if you have a kid definitely dont bring them there theyll be bored.
Nice place for family outing & photos.
Friendship Fountain has been one of my favorite places in Jacksonville since I was child. Went down there for the boat parade and fireworks. Had a great time!
Its fun, to watch the fountain and the skyline of the city. But to be honest, its a bit old. Maybe 5 or 10 years ago it was nicer..
The lighting should be more attractive in fountain, but still it is a good place to hangout at night. Less crowd and you get a good view of Jacksonville downtown
Sure wish the fountain lights were on. Such a pretty place to sit when they are.
I visited for an event, and it was a great location. There was adequate parking nearby, and it was scenic.
I love to go down there because all the lights the waterfalls the different colors of waterfalls are everythings just so peaceful calm Serenity tranquil
Great place to walk and enjoy the river breeze.
How could I have a wedding here?
Whats there to say. (Friendship fountain) could use an overhaul on the lights. The dont change colors anymore. Bring back the oldies guys. The lights changed with music. Other than that awesome place. Ill still go for the memories.
Need attention. Its a lovely place but need urgent maintain. Its sad if we lost that place
Nice little park on the river. Great for photos
What a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. Conveniently located near the Museum of Science and History, River City Brewery, and the river walk. Take some time to sit on the benches, relax, and people watch. Then take a nice stroll along the river walk or have some fun crossing over the Main Street bridge.
Nice walk along the St. Johns river. Quiet, peaceful and great city views.
Beautiful place to walk.. especially at night, the view is gorgeous with all the lights
My family and I went to the Friendship Fountain to see the New Years Eve fireworks. It was a great experience! My wife and mother-in-law loved the show and my wife has been wanting to return to the Fountain again to casually sit and enjoy the area when it isnt packed. My only downsides to the area were: how packed the area was, parking within the area, and the drunks within the area but thats to be expected on New Years Day and the area, itself, cant be faulted for that.
Nice. Well kept area. The lights werent on, assume because of covid. Saw dolphin in the river.
Had a great picnic and looked at all the beaty around us.
The Friendship Fountain is a beautiful area to see the city. I went at night and it was super cool to see the John T. Alsop Jr. Bridge lit up. It’s very relaxing to want along the water.
I remember that place when I was growing up my stepfather ran all the pumps and was the one that got down in it and with a push broom gathered all the coins and roll them up was very happy when they did a face lift on it
One great spot to get an exceptional Skyline View of downtown Jacksonville
Theres plenty of activity already this season. The scene is very diverse. Families, couples and the physically active crowd. Theres plenty of benches and picnic tables. The maintenance team is currently working on a facelift. The retaining wall is having the mortar joints re-struck. The fountian has been drained and power washed preparing for a new coat of paint. I would be surprised is all the projects were not completed by 3-17-19.
Went during the day.Paid $5 to park (which is decent)Im sure it looks much better at night.
Nice fountain. With nice view of downtown Jacksonville.
This fountain can be seen from across the river in many places downtown but its not until you get up to the fountain that you realize how massive it really is. Like many other landmarks in Jacksonville, this one is a cant miss when youre visiting the city! The panoramic views of the downtown skyline will give you some fantastic photo ops and during special events when all of the water cannons are turned on, its a site you cant take your eyes off of!
Good place spend evenings
I give it 3 stars because of the beauty of the area otherwise it would be zero stars. Nothing to do in the area to keep you down here. Could be so much better. They dont even do the light/music/fountain show anymore.
Nice area...BUT, too many homeless and vagrants hanging out. Jacksonville is famous for this.....its hard to even take the family here or especially downtown.
Just a nice scenic area to collect your thoughts...
There are many good things I could say about this place. It is in close proximity to many other things that are very family-friendly. If you have children that are interested in marine life the Riverwalk is a great place and you have easy access to take a nice walk over the Main Street Bridge. Its a great place for small and quick weddings or ceremonies of the type.
Was not lit up and it seemed to be a homeless person hangout. Not what I was expecting while visiting from out of state.
Best place to take photos
You can park and walk the path around to the fountain and then up under the bridge.
Pretty place but needs to be kept clean
Quiet and very peaceful. I needed that walkm
Its a beautiful area to go for a walk hang out and talk. It is a beautiful view you could sit on a nice warm night and have icecream. Someone even said it was a nice proposal spot as it over looks the water and may even be fortunate enough to see dolphins like I did.
One of my favorite places in Jacksonville. You can sit and relax for hours. Theres also some great restaurants nearby.
Great view of the river with plenty of places to sit or walk around and take photos. Brought my lunch here to one of the many available picnic tables (features wheelchair inclusive tables!) and watched the boats sail by. If you catch it at the right time, the Maxwell coffee house across the way makes the whole area smell like fresh brewed coffee. Make sure to park behind the museum!
Fantastic little park in the big city. I love the views and there’s lots of area for pictures or relaxing.
I was hoping for more action here, but my visit was too brief. Im sure this fountain puts on some amazing light shows!
Great place to visit with family
One of my fav sites
Since when did friendship fountain have a curfew? As long as you do not do anything malicious, I dont see why there should be one. Its Duval county though. The area is nice. The city definitely could of done more and do more to make it more vibrant and attractive. Not to many people after 9:00pm.
Good to see during the day, but probably better early in the evening as the sun is going down.
Peaceful, beautiful view of downtown Jacksonville by St. Johns river.
Catch the golden hour just right and this whole place lights up. The RouxArts mural under Main St Bridge is beautiful and makes a great backdrop for pics.
Great place to walk with a breeze.
Beautiful view of the city! Water taxi located at the marina. Brewery located right around the corner.
The fountain by the river walk is just amazing. We went on a very foggy day but still we enjoyed. It has a long walk, about 1.2 mile you can walk thru the river and enjoy the beautiful view
