Great “hike” and adventure with the kids. We always encounter local insects, and crustaceans for the kids to observe. The fallen trees environment on the beach is like no other. A great way to preserve the natural history and have visitors come and enjoy the scene.

Beautiful views. Having a hard time finding beaches that permit dogs. The beach wasnt crowded; only saw two other individuals. We walked Gunner on his leash just to the water and back. He had never been to a beach. He was thrilled

This is one of the most unique places in North Florida. In the early 70s, I used to play on this beach as a kid. Back then, it was an inaccessible wilderness; now its a state park. When timed correctly - the tides are treacherous - wed wade out unto the oyster beds and gorge yourselves, with the aid of screwdrivers wed pirated from my fathers tool box and hot sauce from my mothers kitchen!

I was there for the sunrise, and what a sunrise it was. I will share the prove and other picks from this outing. In addition to a nice sunset, I discovered that people likes to come over for photo shutting s and who can blame them.

Such a unique and surreal location. The trees slowly make their way to the water walking across the sands over a period of years, slowly decaying and twisting to the whims of Mother Nature. A must see in Jacksonville.

Great place if you enjoy going to the beach but not for swimming purposes as there is no swimming allowed here. Was a nice location to get out into nature and disconnect from the city. Really is like a boneyard with dead trees scattered all over the shoreline. My kids enjoyed climbing all over those trees. I personally didnt enjoy this spot so much since I really love being able to swim when Im at the ocean however, it was nice to see something different and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a bit.

Took a stroll to the beach access on the Shoreline Access Trail and it was gorgeous. The tides were too high for us to get far down the beach but the huge driftwood trees are a sight to see. Its really amazing. I wanna go again when the water level isnt so high and the tide is farther out. Would recommend!

Its a very surreal beach, not the kind of beach you want to spend a day at or get into the water, as it is brackish. But it has amazing photo opportunities. Its best to visit at low tide!

Ive been here a few times and I plan on visiting again and again. Its a very unique beach. Great for a walk on the beach, fishing, swimming, a picnic and photography sessions. Plenty of wildlife and fresh air and less foot traffic than other Beach.Be careful about picking up seashells. I picked up a shell to check it out...it was somebodys house. Oops.

I came here looking for an EarthCache but I was blown away by what I found. The dramatic downed trees in the beach were stunning and moving in a strange way. Looking at the live trees waiting their doom near the edge got me thinking about the passage of time and the way things around us change on their own timeline. A highlight of our trip. $3 honor system parking. Portapotties. Bike trails. Great place!

Very unique beach. Turn at Buccaneer Trail, there is a self pay kiosk, a good amount of parking in a circular drive. Can park and ride the paved bike trail from here as well. There is an overlook at the parking area, but access to the beach has been fenced off due to erosion. But no worries its a short trail through the woods to the beach. Bikes and dogs allowed on the trail. Hard packed wide trail. No dogs on the beach. the longer you look the more you see when exploring the trees on the beach!

Nice escape from the normal beaches with skeletal trees littering the beach and slowly eroding away. Connects to the other trailheads and beaches of Big Talbot Island via the paved Timacuan Pathway. Entrance fee is $3 per vehicle and on the honor system. The Shoreline Access Trail is a 0.3 mile sandy and flat trail through the woods out to the boneyard beach and bluffs.

The driftwood is what made me decide to come to this beach. It was so beautiful. It’s a perfect place to have photoshoots. When I went, I actually had a picnic on one of the fallen trees and there were a few people doing photo shoots. The wave were very strong so I didn’t get close to the water. They have signs up saying it’s dangerous to get in but it was still so nice to sit and enjoy the view and the sound of the waves crashing. If you come while the sun is about to set, I recommend bringing bug repellent. A lot of mosquitos.

Beautiful display of natures wrath. There are three opportunities to park on A1A. The cost of entry is $3.00 and is based on the honor system. Deposit cash only in an envelope and hang the ticket stub on your rear view mirror. This is an historic site dedicated to archeological preservation. Do not dig here or extract or remove anything from the beach. Also, dont climb the sand dunes. Follow designated paths. Use DEET or similar bug repellant. Ticks are extra active this year.

A unique place to get away from the busy city life. The park is open from sunrise to sunset. Several covered tables are available along with grills. Only portalets are on site. Toilets with running water are available 1/2 mile away at a boat ramp. The beach is covered with dead trees which makes for an unusual scenery. The water is a bit muddy as the shore has areas of clay. A paved bike trail runs right through the park.

This park is great for nature lovers. There are plenty of bike trails to ride. The beach is littered with driftwood and you can find a plethora of hermit crabs, fiddler crabs, and blue crabs. The trails are intense in some areas though so bring a walking stick or at least a long skinny one to clear any spiders from your path. Im not a huge fan of this beach for swimming because of all the mud and muck but otherwise, its a beautiful scenic area.

Definitely listen to the curfew.... the rangers are not there to help u find it way out after closing. We went at sunrise to see the huge amount of birds bathing in the fresh water pool at the far north end of the park just south of the A1A bridge. There were egrets, herons galore, many water birds and gorgeous rosetta spoonbills.
