It is a good course during the week but on weekends you will be out there ALLLLL day as they continue to allow groups of 5 & 6 play at one time. Called the club house multiple times and they said they would take care of it but no one ever came ;(. For the amount of money they charge it is very frustrating.

I have used Hidden Hills Country Club twice for two different events with the most recent on 12/05/2019. The Celebration of life for my husband. I am beyond grateful to Mr. Libby and the entire team. They ensure that every single detail was to my liking, before and during the event. The food was delicious especially the pulled pork. Everyone had a great time and I received many compliments how everything looked. If you are looking for venue where the staff goes above and beyond to meet your expectations this is the place. I highly recommend Hidden Hills Country Club.

5 Course! Mike in the clubhouse was tremendously helpful! I am new to the area, Mike asked if Id like to take a cart out to survey the course. Great Hospitality!! Offered the rates without me asking, along with all the other amenities the course has to offer. The staff from the greeter, to the starter, to the guys who receive your cart after play all treated me as I was a Member! Usually this is not the case, again I will return! Thoroughly satisfied patron! The greens were recently aerated 2 weeks ago so with the downpours of rain, along with the heated weather, the greens are lush and soft, but not too slow!

I play Hidden Hills frequently and historically have had very good experiences. The course is usually in good shape and the layout is challenging but fair. The practice facilities are excellent and the staff has been welcoming. However, I recently made a tee time by phone and arrived at the course to play a few days later. After beginning play, it was apparent the greens had been over-seeded and were in poor condition. They were very hairy, bumpy and super slow. Frankly they were unacceptable for normal play. It is my opinion that if the course is experiencing significant maintenance, people making tee times should be alerted to the issue so they can choose whether or not to play. This was not done. After the round, I went into the pro shop to advise the team on my thoughts and the gentleman in the pro shop just nodded his head and said nothing. An explanation or an apology would have gone a long way, but I just got silence. I expected better from a course of this reputation.

Hidden Hills Golf Club in Jacksonville, FL is not exactly what you would expect, after all, this part of the state is pretty flat. Yet hidden from the surrounding area are the ups and downs you will encounter on the course and not only on your scorecard.Hidden Hills Golf Club has been a fixture of the East Arlington area near Jacksonville since 1966. In 1986, Arnold Palmer and his design group did a total makeover of the course, creating the challenging layout you find today. In its heyday, Hidden Hills had over 700 members and played host to the Greater Jacksonville Open, a tournament that has morphed into the Players Championship, now played annually on the Stadium Course at Sawgrass. Winners of this prestigious golf tournament included Gary Player, Tony Jacklin and Don January. With the downturn in the economy that occurred in 2007 – 2008, membership dropped to about 400, not enough to keep a club of this caliber up to par so to speak. A little over a year ago, Hidden Hills relinquished its “private club” status and became a daily fee facility. Memberships are no longer available, however long-term player passes can be purchased through the pro shop or online.Hidden Hills offers all the practice facilities you need to get you golf skills honed to maximum efficiency. There’s a full length driving range where you can hit every club in your bag. There’s a separate chipping area where you can work on your short game and a massive well undulated putting green where you can practice many of the breaks you are about to encounter. Whether you’re looking to work on your game for an extended period of time or just knock out a quick bucket before your match, there’s plenty of room for everyone. In the event your game’s not where you want it to be, the PGA professionals at Hidden Hills are ready to help you get your groove back.If you’re an “A” player, looking for a challenge, play Hidden Hills from the Gold Tees. At 6,892 yards with a course rating of 73.7 and a slope of 138, the course is every bit a tournament-caliber course as you will find and brings many of the water and sand hazards into play. If you’re new to the game and are just looking to get some exercise and have a good time, play it forward. From the Red Tees, Hidden Hills plays 5,016 yards with a rating of 70.0 and a slope of 120. Something for everyone! This Arnold Palmer signature design is resplendent with rolling hills and fairways; enough elevation changes to boast one of the highest elevations in the Jacksonville area on the green at the par 3, 5th hole. On some holes, the mounding on either side will funnel the ball back into the fairway; on others, missing the fairway can result in an ugly lie or a lost ball. After your round, stop by the Hills Grill. This casual bar serves up your favorite beverages from 11 am to 7 pm. Lunch is available from 11 am to 3 pm and features some truly remarkable menu items. The buffalo chicken wings are more of a meal than an appetizer and the pressed Cuban sandwich featured pork that was freshly grilled and absolutely delicious. Hills Grill is the place to be on Friday nights when the kitchen whips up some tantalizing dinner specials from 6-9 pm.Hidden Hills is one of those courses that you will have to play several times in order to get the hang of it. Water comes into play on 12 holes; 8 of 9 on the front and none after the 13th hole. The front nine plays 4 to 5 shots harder than the back nine and the emphasis is on brains rather than brawn. You’ll need to hit the ball a specific distance or to a specific spot to simplify an approach shot into the green. Many greens are elevated, thus eliminating the senior-favorite bump and run!Hidden Hills has been around a long time and you don’t survive that long in the golf industry without offering a superior product. This course has everything imaginable to challenge a scratch golfer yet remain playable for a high handicapper.

I recently decided to have my wedding reception at Hidden Hills. This was the best decision we could have made. After meeting with two different event coordinators in the year leading up to the event, we were left without one two weeks prior. But they had our file and the owner Russ along with his wife Tracey took command and made sure that the event was an absolute success. They let myself and the groomsmen use the locker room to get dressed before the wedding and made sure that we were taken care of every step of the way. The food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating. The bartenders did great in providing drinks for the guests. Our total guess count was about 135 and everyone had a great time. Thank you to Russ and Tracey for being there to make sure our memorable night was amazing!

My husband and I got married here in May and we could not be happier. The food was amazing and Tracy helped us every step of the way. She coordinated with other vendors, called if she saw something I might like, and was the hero of the day with her sewing kit when my mothers dress needed a minor repair. The venue was beautiful and many of the decorations we used were provided with the venue. That being said most of the decorations were put up by the staff before we even arrived. We were also able to come in the day before to set everything up so we were not scrambling the day of the wedding. Tracy made the day perfect by coordinating with all the vendors, running around to ensure everything was timed perfectly, and even offered to run errands if needed. The wait staff remembered everyones names and were wonderful. Ernest was our bartender that helped create our signature drink and he was amazing. Thank you again to Tracy, Russ, Ernest, Brittany and all the amazing staff at Hidden Hills that worked hard to make our day perfect. On a side note, there is a beautiful wooden bridge on the course that made for great pictures.

Its a fun course. Water and tight on the front. The only bad thing is very slow play from the members. And the people who live out there. Im sorry, but when you open your course to the public and charge them a good rate, and you think you can treat them like there invading your course. I dont like that at all. This course is not for high handicappers in my opinion. Lots and lots of houses on the course and more popcorn bubbly hills on the course than a bag of popcorn. Obviously, it is called Hidden Hills for a reason but it can be mind boggling and dangerous to the families that live here if you cant keep your shots on the course. Picture day three at the US Open this past weekend being similar to what this course plays like for a high handicapper! Unless you are up for a stiff challenge, Id avoid this course until you can keep the ball on the range consistently.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. The golf course is beautiful, the staff was friendly and when I come back down I will play again. The fairways are tight with houses fairly close, but with good shots the course is scoreable. Lots of water through out. Greens were quick but responsive. Played with a couple of really high handicappers and Im a 15 myself and people were patient although we still tried to play quickly on a Sunday. Great experience.

The course had very little grass on the fairways, the greens were beyond fast and the member group of 3 ( in 3 carts) behind us called the clubhouse to complain about slow play. We had just let a single play through and were supporting the club with purchases from the beverage cart. We were right on track for normal 4-4:15 hr round on a course that did not show the holes on the score card...flying blind a lot. It was obvious they did not want public quest, make it private then. Despite that, had a great time with our group!

Hidden Hills is a classic golf course design with plenty of - you guessed it - Hills. Theres small mogul type hills all over this course and more elevation than any course in Jacksonville. Disclaimer, I have played this course 5 times now and same exact experience.I will start off by saying this is a desired track due to the undulations and slight elevations making it unusual for a course in Jacksonville/Florida. Clubhouse makes you feel like you stepped back 20 years in time, not sure what the member have been paying for.Tee boxes are very unlevel and half the time the ball is above or below your feet on the tee shot. Grass on tee boxes need help.Fairways are decent and are not overgrown.Bunkers are pretty well taken care of.Greens roll okay but there are brown patches and spots with just sand filler (greens were not punched or aerated at the time, it was just casual sand). We got to the tee box a few minutes before our time and they had already let the group behind us go since they waited at the first tee for 10 minutes. These guys waited for the group to tee off on #2 before they even hit their tee shot on #1.. we sat at #1 tee for 15 minutes before swinging. We then followed them the rest of the day waiting on every shot. Finished at 4:45.. almost a 6 hour round of golf!!!There was no water in the coolers at 11am...At $65 a round you may be better off at Amelia, North hampton, St. Johns, South Hampton and many others..

I was beyond excited when the golf course went public. It was in excellent condition at that time. Not sure what has happened, but it was in bad shape when we went this past Saturday. The fairway was dry and greens were terrible. There was a foursome in front of us who were 2-3 holes behind. I guess Hidden Hills ranger leaves at 3pm (not sure why on the weekend during the summer), so we were stuck waiting each and every hole.Overall, sucky experience. Not sure where to even begin. Ive played golf for about 20 years now and not once have i seen a course that allows groups of 5. Teed off around 9am and the round of 18 holes took close to 5 hours. The fivesome in front of us had FIVE individual carts to their group, they were bananaland slow. One of the most bush league things i have ever experienced. You could drive to Charleston SC, play 9 holes, catch happy hour, then drive back in the same amount of time it takes to play 18 holes at Hidden Hills with their fivesome group pairings. Not a chance in France we ever return.
