I work at DA school of arts as a custodian an Ill say this is the best high school Ive work for. The stuff that I have met are the nicest, caring, lovable people that Ive met at a high school..the students will be students an the Dean, assistants principals , securitys and jso officer do there jobs very well ... Ive never seen any fights or judging. These students that are in art (drawing & painting)are very very talented... Ill give this school more then FIVE STAR if I could. Any parent that send there children here would not be disappointed....

A lot of you are saying da is the best school and that this school is a 5/5 star rating. But I have something different to say. One, when I auditioned for da for my freshmen year I did not make it in. I was called clueless and looked like I didn’t know what I was doing. This really hurt me and brought my self-esteem down. But i worked harder and better for my next audition for da for my sophomore year. My mom gets an email from da saying I did not make it in. I thought I did enough to pass my audition but I guess not. So many people that audition for dance and mess up make it in. And when i mess up one thing, that’s “game over” for me. I think this school is good but it’s not the best school for arts. So da, if you are reading this, I am done auditioning for da for dance. I will succeed without this school. Thank you from me (Liani Desseaux) for bringing my self-esteem down and then realizing I am the best dancer to myself not anyone else so that just helped me raise my self-esteem because I don’t need this school to become the professional dancer I want to be.

Im interested in going here is there any info that can help me to get in im an 8th grader at kernan middle im a drummer in the school band i also sing in the choir and dance recently i choreograph my own dance an alot of adults and parents came up to me and told me to check this school out a teacher of mine said she was gonna try ang get me on the ellen show other then my musical gifts im also an athlete i play football basketball track and baseball an my my academics arent the best but i try to keep them up usually no lower then a C so if u could hit me back an inform me on how to get in id very much appreciate it

I am currently in my sophomore year at DA. Great school. I am in piano and its challenging. If you are going into piano know your classical music well. Also academics are harder than what youd expect at a normal high school. Its college prep so be prepared for anything. The other arts areas are really self explainable. Guitar is laid back but still difficult. Band is nice, there is a band director who is very strict, laid back, but strict. There is no marching band. Art is really laid back and fun. Orchestra is fun because of the teacher and everything else is great too. Dance is very uptight and my opinion is there are stuck up. Dance is still nice.

I was in theater starting from sophomore year. Be willing to put work and a WHOLE LOTTA MONEY in because it can be very challenging for those who are not used to that type of lifestyle.Thankfully I got by and graduated last year but I wouldnt call these the best 3 years of my life. But then again, theater is a VERY competitive art area, I cant say the same for other art areas.

Greatest Art- college prep school ever !! My son is a freshman & we couldnt imagine a better fit for him ..... His teachers are the most caring & focused staff Ive ever encountered. We have four children all at different schools ... Most are in the private sector and the teachers @ DA have impressed me more than the very costly institutions we paid for with our other children . And most impressive is academic expectations of the DA students are extremely superior than what I would have ever imagined at an art school Thank you DA !!

This school has a great ESE program, and they are willing to help you with anything as long as you put forth the effort. Great staff. I will say this, not a great school for a Christian. Your faith will be tested here, they talk about being excepting to everyone but they are excepting to literally everyone but a Biblical Christian. If you are a Christian, or ever Conservative, you will struggle with the environment here. I will also specify, the staff is excepting but the environment isnt. Overall its a great school if you are serious about the liberal arts and you want to have a good career.

I am in 8th grade right now and am hoping to get the chance to be accepted into this school for the Cinematic Arts program next year. Ive heard great things about this school, thanks to the many people in my family that attend or have attended this school.

Band program is awesome!

HORRIBLE! Great school for those that are making large $$$$ donations to the school. But for those that are middle class working parents the experience was DISGUSTING. The bullying that goes on and the fact that the staff does so little about it is scary. Glad I was able to get my nephew put of there.

Wonderful school. Also, i am in sophmore class, and my class beat Stanton for highest science scores, and we are ranked 130ish in thr nation for highschools. This is not just a art school, it is a prestigious academic center that receives over 10 million a year in scholarships (2 mill in orchestra program alone)

Definitely the place to be if you want to succeed in the arts. But the academics are also extremely challenging
