A wonderful place to go to learn about Victorian hair art. It was fun and informative, our guide knew a lot about the topic. I enjoyed this museum a lot. Definitely worth the price!

Quite an interesting place, if rather small. I had no idea that people would weave hair in such intricate patterns and shapes. It costs $15 for adults and $7.50 for those 17 and under. It consists mainly of framed wreaths made out of mostly human hair, as a tribute to family members.

Rosie gave a great tour of the “museum”. No politics, no religion (besides descriptions of religious art). The museum is worth seeing because it’ll stick in your mind forever. If you’re like most of us, you had no idea that hair was used as a genealogical database before DNA and detailed family trees. Besides the record-keeping aspect, the detailed tatting-like work that was performed using hair is incredible. The tour is just long enough because at some point you’ve seen it all, but the details are incredible to see. The Smithsonian will have this stuff at some point, but I recommend you see it here first.

Here is just one example of the racist crappy things they have posted when you try to go to this museum. There is an actual picture of trump and a police lives matter sticker not pictured. Guess dont come here if youre not white.(for future generations, as a reference point, I am typing this after Trumps Helsinki press conference and after his family separation BS and these are still up)

A very odd and eclectic place. Leila is full of knowledge and has an amazing interest. The beautiful hair wreaths were something worth seeing and she has hair from some familiar and famous faces. She offers classes a few times a year and is writing books, too! Admission is $15 for an adult, which was much more than I had anticipated but it truly was a one of a kind place.

Very unique museum about the ways people used to keep hair to remember each other. If youre a history buff, this place is super interesting. They also have reliquaries with relics of the Virgin Marys hair and her mother St. Annes hair, if thats your thing.

An in-depth look at the strange world of hair wreaths, hair jewelry, and other historical hair art. Housed in an unassuming building, youll see hair of ex-presidents and immigrants and lots of anonymous families. Leila even offers classes on hair art techniques. Expect religious and and colonial undertones throughout the museum.

Bizarre experience, and Leila herself is as interesting as her collection. The oddities in this place arent limited to Victorian Hair art - there are a few other items that shes collected. Theres no other place like it - would highly recommend if youve got the time to go there.
