It was my first time here. Looks like a great place to take a walk/run or exercise pets. The park has a nice playground area as well. Plenty of squirrels! I enjoyed just sitting down and watching them.

A beautiful place to walk, exercise, picnic, take the kids out to play or romance the love of your life. One path follows along a stream and a row of beautiful homes, covered by trees for most of the walk. Get out and enjoy the !

Nice place to walk and enjoy being outside and exercising. Its nice for the whole family. Its clean. Nice playground and trails to walk yourself or either with a dog. You share the trails with little four legged friends but everyone does a good job sharing. Tennis courts are available of thats your thing. Place stays a little busy

This is a very nice, and up-kept place. The playground is great for children, the tennis courts are perfect for any athletes, and the trails through the woods are great for the whole family.

Its one of my favorite places to go and draw. Its VERY peaceful and well kept up too.

Looked to be cleaned well other than the cobwebs underneath and on the elephant toy and bridge. The sandbox was visibly cleaned very well. They installed a newer zipline that is so much better than the one. Makes me feel a lot safer when my son (3 years old) is on it. We spent about and hour and half there and had a blast!

I absolutely love this place! Went to New Life Church in Huntington West Virginia. Lived on 9th avenue which is close to the park. Great atmosphere. Very nice people! You can take a walk get some exercise or go on a picnic. If you have small children you can have a good time with them on the gym set and swings. Theres a nice creek that you can stroll down and look at and listen to the water. Not to mention theres a great rose garden that is unbelievably beautiful when the flowers are blooming. I used to take my fiance there to tell her how much I love her. every time Im in River Park now I still take her there and tell her how much I love her. Very romantic place. If you go I know you will enjoy the peace and serenity of the park. Every time I was there had a great time.

They do a pretty good job of upkeep. The new playground is awesome. Not sure about the rose garden. It was a little weak this year but thats not the norm. Its usually wonderful and well tended.

Nice hometown park, They have a nice fenced in dog park, and shelters and grills to cook some burgers or whatever. The park has ducks and squirrels everywhere and a really nice walking or running track around the park. on the 8th Street hillside to have a nice rose garden with many different types of roses.

The dog park is amazing. They have a separate fenced in area just for small dogs. My Chihuahua loves it.

Sat there and ate lunch. Very peaceful watching the squirrels play.

Absolutely gorgeous park in Huntington, relaxed, and in the Fall it is a perfect place to go for a run, take your animals for a walk, or enjoy some time outside with family.

The Park is well maintained and a great place to take the family. Kids love the modern play equipment and zip line. Plenty of greenspace for kids of all ages to kick back and relax!

Visit this place almost every day and find my favorite tree to climb to immerse myself in the bit of nature this park provides in the middle of this quaint city.

One of the best places in Huntington. Even when its busy there is still plenty of room to spread out, and it never seems overly crowded. Between the lots and the street its typically easy to find parking too. Great place to go for a walk or just enjoy the outdoors!

Very nice park, plenty of things for kids to play on. Lot of shade trees, public restrooms, and water fountains.

I love ritter but it would be nice if a bike lane was put in. Many runners do not notice when a cyclist is coming by even if you yell on your left/right other than that Ritter is my favorite park!

This is one of the most elegant parks in the United States. Situated in a beautiful residential area, our park features a walking trail along the creek and stone bridges which connect both banks. Ritter Park is the jewel of Jewel City!

Great place for the kids to play, take walks and explore. There is frequently events going on so you might want to check first if you have any plans for a group. There is a rose garden. The shelters can paid for and be reserved for your events as well and are free to use when there are no reservations.

Not pictured is the wonderful playground for the kids—bathrooms and a nice walking trail that feature TALL gorgeous trees, old historic bridges & beautiful birds that sing. A very nice park as for a small town like Huntington, WV, though it is not as impressive as it could be (Rose Garden was a little disappointing).

It’s beautiful for a hike in the woods, but being in town. People love to play flag football, soccer and other sports. It’s a great place for kids of all ages to play.

Beautiful and well maintained park! There is an excellent trail along the outside that is great for running or walking the dog, and a well lit play structure for kids. The lawn area is perfect for games or a picnic with family and friends. I use this park daily and continue to enjoy it.

This park is great! We were driving around enjoying fall foliage and accidentally happened on this park. My 4 and 7 year olds really liked it, and to be honest I had a great time playing on it also!

I really love this park. It has unique features. Like the waterway that runs beside it, a running trail, a path that leads to the Rose Garden, a fountain, and a nice play set/picnic area.

Love this park. A beautiful place. To bad the local drug addiction crowd and the deplorable as Clinton would call them have made the park rather unsafe. But they have security officers and many folks still stroll the trails and use the park.

Ritter Park is a great place to walk around. 1 lap of the entire park is equivalent to 1 mile. There are several great locations to take photos. The park also has a lovely new playground.

We live on McCoy Road and we go to Ritter Park as much as possible. We take my little dog down there and he absolutely loves it he thinks he is King of the park because he gets to smell all those wonderful smells and see other dogs.

Ritter Park is one of the most beautiful parks that Ive ever been in. its got a great walking path a great place for kids and a great place to play soccer frisbee or anything else. I would encourage anyone who comes to Huntington to go there its especially beautiful in the spring and fall

An awesome place to get in your 5000 steps for the day! Nice shaded walkways. Comfy benches. Wonderful old tall trees. A playground for the kids. A dog park. Restrooms near the playground. A peaceful creek. Picturesque bridges. Surrounded by historic homes. Joggers, walkers, readers..all will enjoy this gem in Huntington. Next to the rose garden!

The water fountain is beautiful and there is so much for the kids to do here.

Very nice park that is quite larger than it initially appears. Nice playgrounds and walking paths. The main circle is a 1 mile track and the path continues on for quite a while. The Rose garden is very pretty in the spring. There are multiple hiking trails if youre up for some exploration. Tennis courts are also readily available. No basketball courts though.

They will not turn the lights on to after 9. When were having Bible study now it gets dark at 7:30 and they will not turn the lights on that sad
