Lousy service, and atotal disregard for the history and culture of the rail are that we’re abused for this sad excuse of a substitute for the New River Train. I would honestly rather have no autumn train than this awful thing!

Very enjoyable! Cars were clean, very well maintained. Staff were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. After viewing the foliage I felt relaxed and refreshed. I recommend this trip if you love the beauty of outdoors and are fascinated by vintage trains... like I am!! We had the most impressive steward named Caleb. He put forth every effort to ensure our comfort! Thanks Caleb!! And Papa ️ See you next year.

We took the ride up to Hinton from Huntington WV and it was so relaxing and the colors were beautiful! We came from Tennessee to take the ride and we would do it again. We had the Deluxe Car (Lake Pepin). It is worth the $50 extra for the deluxe car. Much nicer than the standard cars. They made sure we had more than enough food to eat. The bathroom is on the same car and soooo much bigger and cleaner than an airplane bathroom. We went on their first day out and it was a bit disorganized and we had a delay along the way because of something going on with amtrak train but otherwise the conductors and employees working the train were wonderful and helpful. They are great about helping everyone on and off the trains too to make sure no one trips or falls. I highly recommend this excursion for leaf peeping season.

The Autumn Colors Express is a great way to explore West Virginia in comfort and style. A truly unique experience and a continuation of a 40+ year tradition.
