Beautiful place for a picnic or walk in the park! Hidden behind the equestrian center, and Frisbee golfing, and to the right of the dog park, you can find this hidden gem! Plenty of chances to see some horses in the nearby trails, this little Forrest offers a great escape from the feeling of city life! One thing to note is there are no nearby bathrooms, but there is a nearby parking lot on the Garfield side. Also the HB Tree Society does volunteer projects in this area.

Seeding and weeding and making this childhood memory of riding bikes thru here in the 80s whilst being the first 3 tract of homes on Edwards hill next to smokey stables make it worthwhile spearheading a new vision for the property doing what I do best. Taking art forms and bringing together colorful landscapes and people to enjoy a forest smack dab in what is now a residential metropolis of stores, homes, events and tourists. Feeling boxed in? Get some urban forest in your itinerary and all will become well. Quiet and serene! Check it out.. guaranteed bliss!

This place is a nice. There is parking off of Ellis for about 6 vehicles. It is not usually very crowded and the people have always been nice every time Ive been. There are horse stables bordering the trail on the perimeter of the urban forest. You often see people riding or walking their horses on the trail, but it is always clean when Im there. On the other bordering side there is Huntington Beach Park with a dog park that is fenced in. You can see the lake in the park and Kathy mays restaurant. You can walk to the restaurant from this parking lot, its about a mile. It is worth it for the walk because the food is good. I am glad this place is here

This is such a peaceful place; a great place for photography buffs. You could spend a whole day and not see but one or two souls. The parking lot on Ellis can only accommodate 3 or 4 cars, and thats pushing it. Best to park at the dog park and walk over to Urban Forest. Make sure the horses can see you. If you are hidden behind bushes or trees, the horse might spook and throw the rider, so shout out your location if you are around the corner from a horseback rider.

Our car got broken into. We parked along Ellis and Quarterhorse lane (the neighborhood across from the park) because the parking lot only fits 4-6 cars and is always full, do be careful.

Very cool to see the park become more and more developed over time. It used to be a plot of land and now its a lovely place for flora and fauna alike.
