I would love this place more if the residents of Huntington Beach werent consistently and aggressively working to prolong the pandemic by refusing to comply with the mask mandate. :( on the up side, my dog loves the beach, parking is easy and cheap ($2/hour), and the other dogs are always friendly and happy.

We were on a little part of the beach in between the two dog beaches in Huntington Beach. It was in it nice day to be on the beach even though it was Thanksgiving weekend. The water was chilly but then of course I expected that!We certainly did enjoy the sunshine and because I am a huge dog lover I loved watching all the dogs playing in the waves on either side of us.I cant wait to go back!

This beach is super clean. No dog poop anywhere surprisingly. The view is also nice. watching thing like the planes, cargo ships, squirrels, and dolphins makes this beach my favorite spot, before even mentioning the dogs that will come up to you and play. If anyone has a freindly dog I recommend coming here.

This was the first time that I went to the dog beach it was an awesome experience my two chihuahuas love it. They were running everywhere, also they have doggie bags in case we forget the owners forget then. Theres tons of dogs out there and everybody having a great time. Parking is not that bad, just have to wait till someone leaves. Parking is about $2 per hour coins and cards only. If you have dogs and they love the water I highly recommend going I will continue to take my Chihuahuas here. Oh yea my kids liked it to.

This was such a fun beach. Even when the parking lot is pretty full the beach isnt over packed. There were so many dogs . We pretty much stayed in one spot and my dog was so happy to get to play with the dogs whos humans took them for walks along the shore. Make sure your dog is good at listening and coming back to you. There is so much space for them to run around and so many friends for them to make. The water was shallow for so long and the waves were pretty gentle. This would be a great beach for kids as long as theyre good with dogs and your dogs arent over protective.

Brought my little dog to the beach on a Thursday at 11am. Parking was sort of packed but we eventually found a space after driving down a little further. Parking is $2/hr.Plenty of dog poop bags provided. Not many people wearing masks, but most keep a distance of >6 ft.Lots of larger dogs, but there are some small ones too. Friendly and well socialized. Id recommend taking your nice dog here to get some time in the waves and let out some energy.

This is the happiest place on earth-not Disney. No crying kids, doesnt cost you a fortune, no long lines. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are having the time of their life. The beach is long and spectacular and everyone is enjoying the view and the sun or just enjoying watching all those dogs. People are respectful and clean up after their dogs. Been there many times and will always come back.

Id describe the parking situation as limited. Other than that it was a super chill beach full of awesome people and their even more awesome fur companions! We took Kodak whos pretty low energy and likes his space and we were able to find a spot right in the middle of everyone and were mostly left to relax. Looks like most folks use leashes except when theyre down by the water playing. It was a wonderful day.

We go here s often as possible with our English Bulldog as he loves the beach! Its a decent size and the water is shallow in many places for 30 to 40 feet so if your dog has little legs or just not a confident swimmer then you can get wet while staying safe. The only issues are parking, as with all beaches, finding parking on one of the streets adjacent and some dog owners leave their dogs off leash while they sit and sunbathe which i find irresponsible. This is only place Ill let out dig off leash but he never leaves my side all in all a fantastic option for us

Lifeguards watch over a well maintained beach as a mix of many energetic dogs, polite families and beautiful people enjoy an idyllic view of the Pacific coast. The sand is soft and fine for sandcastle making and has a few shells. The waves have some current and are suitable for body surfing or surfing depending on the day, but the shallows provide plenty of space for kids to enjoy the water. An adjacent biking / jogging /walking trail overlook the shoreline as the waves beckon swimmers and surfers of all ages. An excellent recipe for a day living your best life!

Fun place for your family and dog. Lots of opportunities for dogs to socialize (off leash if you are comfortable). The shore is shallow for a good distance making it easy and safe for dogs to play in the water. Parking is $2 per hour (card or cash) and you pay at a machine after you find a spot. This dog beach is the largest that I know, stretching from just north of Huntington Beach pier to Seapoint St. There is even a booth at the top of the path (at the most northerly path to the beach) that sells dog beach merchandise. The one gripe is that parking is insane if you come on a weekend or any other peak time. I tend to just skip the most northerly pair of parking lots (near Seapoint St.), which tends to have a long line of cars stretching down the shoulder/bike lane of southbound PCH. This line occurs because people camp out at the entrance to the parking lot, afraid of missing a spot. If you surpass this most northerly pair of lots and go to the pair of lots closer to the pier, you will wait much less for a spot. There are paths near all lots, leading to the dog beach. FYI bring change or credit card for parking meters, which are conveniently located near any parking spot.On a side note, theres another dog beach at Granada Beach, Long Beach, known as Rosies Dog Beach which is smaller and much easier with parking. Its a smaller designated dog beach, but still draws many fur-babies and owners, with less parking headaches.

Me, my husband and our dog LOVED this beach! Parking is great, $2/hr coins and card only, just gotta wait till someone leaves. Not bad, maybe around 10-15mins tops. There are plenty of dogs running around, off-leash, living their best lives! The waves are a bit big but the ocean shore bed is pretty long so no worries there. My dog is a great swimmer in Stillwater/lakes but this beach made him be more confident with waves. (Especially after looking at other doggies swim) All dogs are super friendly, dog parents are great! Always near by incase anything happens. BEWARE of stingrays though! My husband just got stung last weekend, the lifeguard said they have had a couple stingrays reported in the area.

I hadnt been to a dog beach before and didnt know exactly what to expect, but I did expect that owners would be more conscientious about watching their dog. I didnt except that nearly every dog would be without a leash. We took our dog with one. I now understand that, apparently, its the norm, but I still dont think people should ignore what their animal is doing. I understand playing with other dogs, but when another persons dog is in the middle of your area and sniffing around your food, its not something I appreciate for a moment.Just watch your dogs people!Thats all I ask.Other than that, we and our little guy had a great time.

A nice long beach where people enjoy their dogs off-leash. There are no fencing, but the cliffs serve as such to keep pooches from the street and there are signs to let one know where the dog beach ends and the people-only beach begins. There are concrete park benches at the street level along with a rest room. There are also dog poop bags and plenty of trash cans. Parking is $2/hr.The only major grievance I have is that the railing that keeps people away from the cliff edges needs maintenance badly. They are rusting, flaking metal and anyone could easily get scratched or cut (tetnus, anyone?). Also, it would be nice to have a shower to rinse off with.

LOVE this dog beach!!! Weve been coming here for years and our dogs absolutely love it. Its very clean and accessible, and the beach is sparkling and beautiful. On Saturdays and Sundays the beach is packed and there was probably over 1000 people along the beach. A lot of people had masks, and tried to keep their distance. However, when your standing in the water with dozens of dogs, there was a little bit of a crowd. There is no parking, so you have to park in the residential area and this time, we had to walk 5 1/2 blocks with all of our stuff and our dog. But we still had an amazing time!!**bathrooms are closed due to COVID so we had to curtail our visit:/

Very clean, depending on where you park it can be a bit of a walk down to the sand, and there are always enough dog bags by the bathrooms. I think letting the dog off the leash is fine if the dog is trained and stays somewhat nearby, but there were 2 or 3 groups nearby that laid out and let there dogs walk literally anywhere, which was obviously a bit annoying for a few people around whose dogs arent as well trained. Still a great day trip with a pup and the family
