Great for long bike rides and walks without facing traffic. Think there are homeless there? Maybe. Thank your lucky stars youre not in LA county riverbank parks.

The HB bike trail is a lively, energetic, and scenic place to ride your bike or e-scooter. The trail is mostly flat so its a great place for young children as well, training wheels or not. Plus, there are lots of restrooms along the way as well as restaurants and bike rental shops. During the fall & winter, it gets very windy so proper gear & clothing is a must.

So much better now that theyve cleaned up the place. No more homeless encampment on the trail. I feel safe riding the trail alone again.

Had a good time they let you BBQ on the beach fire pits its a little walk from the parking to the beach but well worth it

The SNART is critical for getting quickly (bike or run) to the beach and avoiding trying to find a place to park. HOWEVER, I am really looking forward to the day when the trail is beautified with vegetation or a coffee stand . The wastewater treatment smell can be a bit overbearing - otherwise love the SNART!

Awesome trail from Corona/ Yorba Linda all the way to Huntington Beach. Trash bins are available almost where you need. Yorba Regional Park is the best maintained park on the trail. Couple of rest stops between Angeles Stadium and beach. Good that there are cops patrolling the underpass in Orange-Santa Ana area. We rode on Sept 2nd 2018 for 1st time and Trail is very inviting to ride. Some stretches don’t have much trees but wherever there are Eucalyptus trees, air feels breathier. Cities need such good trail systems. Thanks to LA county/ Orange County.

Rented a bike and ride down from Newport Beach on a beautiful day. Sat with the chatty little lesser terns right outside their breeding grounds and watched the waves crashing ashore, wish I could have stayed until sunset.

My favorite trail to take long bike rides and enjoy the scenery without the interruption of cars and traffic. They are dedicated bike lanes, so dont worry about cars or even pedestrians as the trail is very wide. It is a gradual downhill with headwind (if no stronger winds that day) going to the beach and a gradual uphill with tailwind coming back from the beach, so they cancel out very nicely.

Always a great place to be no matter what the season. Parking at the state beach is $15 a day in the summer season and I think $10 in the winter. Summers are hectic for parking and you need to get here early on the weekend or the parking lot will be full and the entrances closed.

Such a pretty place to walk through and they have information of different things to learn about like what birds live in there and which are going extinct. Perfect for bike riding or walking with a friend or alone. You can see pelicans, fish jumping out of the water and other animals.

Bike trails (Santa Ana river trails and PCH boardwalk) meet here on the HB side.Newport Beach is on the other side of the river. You can get there by going up to PCH and going over the river mouth on the bridge. You can stay on PCH (where the road bike riders ride) or cut through one of the wall openings (for pedestrians), make your way towards the road(s) closest to the beach (youre not far) and ride until you hit Newport Beach Pier or Balboa Pier on the Balboa Peninsula. If you stay on PCH instead of cutting through the wall, you can continue further south to Corona del Mar (youll be passing by Fashion Island, and Balboa Island, and Newport Back Bay) on to Laguna Beach and Dana Point. Once you pass CDM, retail places get a little thin in spots but there are parks to stop at and use the bathroom at Main Beach (Laguna)(youll probably pass it, its at the main lifeguard building, on the north end of Main Beach, tucked in at the bottom of the bluffs right after PCH dips), Aliso Beach (where PCH also dips as it goes over a creek. The bathroom is on the south side, as PCH rises), and Doheney Beach (Bathrooms that are easy to get to are right after the last DP harbor entrance, turn into the park before the pedestrian bridge across from the Dennys... good luck finding your way South from here... its shorter, but can be confusing)... dont try to get on the freeway if youre on PCH. Doheney Park road (on the right) is your friend, until you pass the railroad tracks and PCH joins back up with your path south.

Good, nowhere else to run in the area. Not very well designed for exercise, and they started to block the ways even more in 2017. In 2016 they done largely unnecessary river bed flattening, and abandoned equipment for months. Dog owners do not follow the rules.
