Old Military Base/Camp. If you are into abandoned places or places with ruins, thos is for you. The views are gorgeous atop the camp. A lighthouse and different islands. Small cemetary along side the camp, if your into that (I love these types of finds). Also a tower that is fenced in. Enjoy and may the Lord keep you safe :)

Fort Revere Park is small and has some excellent views of Brewster Islands and lighthouses, Boston, and the south shore, with several picnic tables to help visitors relax with a book, company, and/or a meal. However, all of the historical structures on-site have been vandalized, especially with spray paint, making it much harder to appreciate the history of this park. Some rooms are very dark and could be described as downright spooky. Its also in need of structural repair.

I really enjoyed visiting this park. It’s hidden away and not very large in size overall, but a fun part of history to check out. You can walk all around and inside the first. Beautiful view from the top too. And it’s free. The scenic drive is part of the fun. Great for older kids. Not so safe for very young kids. Maybe 6 or older.

Will never grow tired of visiting this place. Ive been going here ever since I was a little girl with my dad and brother and it never grows old on me. I love coming here during the summer especially because not only do you get the warm weather and beautiful sun, but you have goregous scenery everywhere you look. And the forts itself are super cool to just get lost in. Highly recommend visiting this place if you havent yet.

A hidden gem in Hull. Watched the sun come up here and it was stunning. It was a bit tricky to find but worth the effort. The fort was really cool too, wish there was a little more historical information about it. Its not incredibly well preserved but very cool to wander around and imagine.

Well hidden from those only traveling to Nantasket Beach, Fort Revere Park is worthy of your visit. Located nearby on Telegraph Hill, you may need GPS to find it.Fort Revere is a sprawling, scenic, and underused public recreation area. Formerly a military fortification used to defend Boston Harbor, it now consists of abandoned, graffiti covered walls and tunnels. If youve visited any of the Harbor Islands or Castle Island, youll recognize the design style of Fort Revere.

Fort Revere is an 8-acre historic site situated on Telegraph Hill in Hull Village and contains the remains of two seacoast fortifications, one from the American Revolution and one that served 1898-1947. It is owned and managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. There are also an old water tower with a closed observation deck on property owned by the town of Hull.

What an amazing place! You can walk all over the ruins and even inside this historic garrison. Some areas are quite dark which gives a sort of spelunking feel to exploring the area. This area is not wheelchair accessible as the only ways down into the actual fort are narrow stairways (keep in mind this is a historic preservation area so accessibility could not be added). The fort is a tad hard to find if you dont know where to look for it. The highest ramparts let you look out over all of Hull and you can see the Boston Lighthouse and the Brewster Islands.

If you want the best 360 deg view that encompasses the Boston skyline, lighthouses, speeding boats and ships, the Hull peninsula, etc, this is the place to go. Wonderful old military bunkers going back to the Revolutionary War, and used until 1947 to protect the sea entrance to Boston. The only real setback is that graffiti artists come from all over to deface the old Fort, often right after a great effort has been put in to clean the old graffitti. If you cant find it, look for one of the highest points in Hull (Telegraph Hill) and a total water storage tower that looks like a lighthouse. The view is worth the effort.

The crumbling fort is pretty cool, but the best part about this park is the view! Climb those crumbling stars, get up on top of the fort and let your breath be taken away. Its a beautiful location, but the state of the fort is SHAMEFUL. It seems to be the place where all kids go to smoke pot and tag. The tagging is completely unchecked by any kind of police patrol. Anywhere else this would make me feel that it was dangerous, but because its Hull I know its just Hull High kids being idiots. It isnt dangerous, but it isnt all that it should and could be for the town.

Je
Review №97

Besides all the graffiti...and maybe because of some of it...the place not only had a historical value, but also as a photographer - an artistic one. Not that tagging is approproate in the criminal sense, however majority is NOT offensive or criminal here either - which makes you see the beauty in some of it! Others look like disrespectful kids doing what they wanted where they wanted...but some are extremely artistic &/or add to they mystique & eerrie air that surrounds & envelopes this place as is...once you step down into the fort area - the grounds are peaceful during the daytime, but many shows have come to the area to try to catch paranormal activity, where much energy & emotions were felt & experienced by everyone that was here - and possibly STILL ARE!This place is very historical & old, as stated before...and for those into history, to find this literally in someones back yard...but with the markings & stories to tell you what happened here and why. Therr are great plaques to help you understand the history of yhe towrr &. Some of the areas of the fort & what its purpose was. Some believe the place to be haunted, which I myself wouldnt be surprised...you cant have that much historical pentup energy in one place for so long, without having some left behind. After many passionate years of love & protection of ones life, land & harbor of country - it has to hold some pieces of past that are bound to echo throughout time....whether we are open to hear, see, or receive those messages - thats to each individual to decide for themselves. If you are open, you may delve a little deeper than most into the historical past that Fort Revere is known for...and experience It (and them) - for yoirself! It is a great place with scenic views of the area also....something for everyone! And doesnt cost a cent...parking is free....and it is easy to get to - not far off the beaten path for those that live &/or vacationing in the Boston, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset & surrounding areas all the way down to the Cape....tucked behind the historical cemetary & containing some of those that may have been at Fort Revere...judt down the street from the Library & Hull High School! And if you are into history - its well worth the trip, to experience this place for yourself & learn a little more about something you thought you knew all about.....but maybe really DIDNT!
