Beautiful views of the bay and the Boston skyline but secluded enough to feel like you miles away from anyone. Great walking paths and if you walk down the rocky beach enough, it can be very private. Great spot to get away but still be close.
I took these two photos at Peddocks island, which I went to in February as part of the Winter Wander program. This is one of my favorite programs! You can take a boat 30 min to the island, and hang for a couple hours. During the summer, you can camp here or stay in a little cabin as well. Lots of old military structures, summer cottages, you can see the skyline, too. It would take all day to see the whole island!
Webb park is a great short walk! Great scenery and sage.
The harbour islands are beautiful and well posted with signage both on the islands and on the surrounding mainland areas.
Very nice walking paths!
In hot weather great place to go
The best harbor islands this side of Boston.
Pretty empty, loads of wildlife
We camped for 2 days on peddocks island, the only thing that is keeping me from giving it a 5 is the bathroom at the top of the hill, in the camping area, has serious ventilation issues, the ammonia build up in the bathroom will burn right through you.We also had an issue with the locks on one of the yurts, long story short we had two small children locked inside a yurt. The staff had known about the faulty lock previously but nothing was done to repair it until it completely failed. The young staff did not have the collaborative problem solving skills needed to work with the other adults around to solve the problem which led to a lot of unnecessary distress for everyone involved, including the trapped children. All that aside, everyone is fine and we have a story that will be told for years to come Im sure. The yurts were GREAT! This was our first time in the yurts and it was so great, it was peak fly season and it was nice to have a place to retreat to.There is a fresh water bottle filling station as well so you dont need to haul gallons of water with you if you go.
If you visit from away this is a great take. If you live here and havent been, go!
Great outdoors... wife and kids loved the walk

Clean beautiful and relaxing for walking or jogging.
Great walking path for all ages and abilities
Fort Warren on Georges Island is a great place to burn a day. DCR needs to clean up the southeast side and make it safe to explore.
Beautiful place
The Boston Harbor Islands are a beautiful place to visit and or camp. Great hiking trails & awesome views. Bring your lunch & sun hat and youre good to go:)

Very beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended.
Excellent place to walk and stop for a great view of the harbor.
The Boston Harbor Islands are one of the hidden gems of the National Parks system. So many people head to the historic town of Boston and take advantage of the vast history...but they miss out on one of the best ways to see the beautiful city that sparked our freedom!A quick ferry ride from Rowes Wharf and you will not only get an amazing perspective of the city, but also an amazing experience of a really incredible system of islands. My personal favorite is Spectacle Island, with its beach, amazing hiking trail and large drumlins which lend to an amazing place to watch the Tall Ships sail in or just spend an afternoon out of the hustle and bustle of the city center! Dont forget the incredible amount of history on each of these islands! There is camping on some islands but best to check out the website for certain requirements.
Good views of Boston, and Hull gut.
Really neat nature experience right by the city.
Nice public place
Great place to eat.
There is a lot of history in record at this location. Between the old military base and the community that populated this island in the past, and present.
New views with the change of season.
Wonderful islands go explore youll love the experience
Great place to walk, and look at the water.
Fantastic views, lots of history, loads of fun... Hiking, camping, swimming, exploring... The Harbor Islands have it all.
July 3rd is always a great time!
Beautiful retreat only an hour from Boston. Lots to explore and enjoy.
If you are looking for an endless supply of activity and things to see, Boston Harbor and its Islands is the place. Boating, fishing, swimming, picnics, nature, snorkling, scuba for lobster, you name it. Kayak the nooks around the outer Islands where 99% of the people even in boats do not get to see. Camping. I grew up on Boston Harbor and at 65 have not seen everything. Tons of history to be learned and the changes to the harbor from the Revolution to WW II with it many fortifications. We never go away on vacation, we have everthing right here.
