Saw the performance of “CATS” which was very good but there was confusion about mailing my tickets which they charged $15 for. Then they emailed my tickets claiming it was the same and would be the same fee. How do you charge $15 for an email and claim it’s the same as shipping? I had to go through a “live chat” with their customer service to try and get my money back. Also, for what I spent on tickets, I expected the seats to be more comfortable.

1st class theatre and productions.A Houston jewel for 50 yrs.Theres also a smaller venue onsite Zilka with various high quality music, comedy, etc shows.A full restaurant (reserve if you are coming before a show ....views the skyline)Lobby has a full bar and a cafe type dining area too with a skyline view porch.Season tickets are very reasonable!If you are a local who loves musicals give them a call..flexible packages, exchanges if needed too.Park in the Hobby Center Garage or underground lot.Street parking if you are lucky. Read the signs on the street carefully!

What can I say, bring a lawn chair and the cooler with a friend and enjoy the show..

Lovely theatre! First time seeing a show here and liked how efficient it was getting in and finding our seats. Definitely will be seeing more shows here in the future.

So Im here today for Memphis. One thing I love about the theater and opera in Houston is their punctuality.BUT TODAY......so at 2:10 I called box office for update, with no answer to the tardiness. Then at 2:15 a young man comes out to inform us that we are running late due to rodeo traffic........ I do not feel its fair to be made to wait due to others tardiness. While the venue and plays are great when professional details are missed it ruins the experience.

The play we saw (guys and Dolls) was fantastic. Place is comfortable. Be prepared for a long valet wait, though.

Wow this is a great venue. The non-profit Houstons Theatre Under The Stars Underground - holding true to its message No revivals. No dead authors. No boundaries. I have been to two so far. They have great performing artists with messages that will touch your heart and your soul. You will emerge after a few hours with a different perspective on life itself. Powerful I know, I wouldnt have believed it either.

An amazing experience and great talent! I recently saw Evita there and it is the MOST beautiful production filled with exciting choreography. TUTS sets the bar really high. Cant wait for their upcoming season!

Love this place and their shows. Now they have Tuts underground and its more quaint and cozier. I been a member here for years at Tuts, and will continue to patronize. Their shows get better and better every year.

I posted an earlier review regarding the changes in the 2016/2017 season. Im amending this review as a result of the response from TUTS. As season ticket holders for many years, we were unhappy with the change in the performances being offered after they had already been sold to us and most other season ticket holders. After speaking with a wonderful woman in the box office who let me vent, TUTS responded in a way that was more than fair. I would have rather had the original season back, but that is not going to happen. I will go to each performance with an open mind and hope that I am pleasantly surprised. If Im not, and when the next season is released, I may or may not continue with the season tickets. However in the meantime I have to adjust my star rating to reflect my appreciation for the way they heard my concerns and responded.

Inappropriate, Fat-Shaming SecurityI attended a play at TUTS yesterday. There wasnt any line, so my boyfriend and I were able to go up to security immediately. In addition to my bag search, my bf was subjected to a metal detector and small pat down. Unannounced, a lady started my pat down, which included her rubbing my stomach and asking when I was due. I am obviously not an athlete, but I was still taken aback by the comment. I tried to play it off and told her I wasnt pregnant. She replied Oh Im sorry. You just look like I did when I was about to have my kid. After that size-shaming experience, I just wanted to find our seats. When asking the ushers, we got nondescript responses such as upstairs or down that hall. We had to ask 4 separate ushers before we received help. At the time I thought of the atrocious service as something to just get through to watch our play. Looking back at it now, TUTS is an entertainment venue. This isnt the apathetic and handsy TSA that you have to suffer through to make a flight. If TUTS takes away the enjoyment from the experience, there is absolutely no reason to ever go. Size shaming patrons is unacceptable; terrible customer service in their industry is unacceptable. This is the first and last season I will ever hold a TUTS subscription.Also, not that it should matter but if it does, I am 57, 143 lbs, Size 6.

All the shows here are an amazing experience and highly recommended. If you skip dinner, the a la carte buffet outside the theatre serves pretty good food at a (relatively) decent price. The main bathrooms outside the seating area are usually extremely crowded during showtimes. If you have to use the restroom, use the ones downstairs from La Artista (a restaurant off to the side of the theatre entrance).
